His stuff always made me feel dainty. I'm 5'9, he was 6'7.

I really like to be hugged by big guys.

I met a guy at a meeting some years ago (pre egg crack).  He was a big guy and a hugger.  Lifted me right off my feet.  I was surprised at how much I loved it.  I still think about it sometimes.  Sigh.

We joked that we looked like a normal couple in a kid's world.

He did often make me feel more traditionally feminine just from the size difference. It's like a 6ft guy dating a 5'2 woman.

If I ever date again, there will be a minimum height requirement.

I'm sorry. I wonder what it feels like to get picked up?

I wished I was that short. Clothes and shoes would have more options.

Leaves me with mixed feelings. But I do feel more... delicate maybe?

Mixed because of an implied power differential and its inherent threat.

Yeah, unfortunately that doesn't get fixed.

That said,  back when I was younger and 20lbs lighter,  at 5'9 and 140lbs - stuff fit me just like the model in the photo for many brands.

Other brands sized for 5'4 and made custom stuff for their models. Those were brands I avoided.

Practical doesn't always equate to experience though! Especially in physical power differential.

I was taught to use pressure points. It will bring anyone down no matter what size. I have thought of every possible situation that I could be in. The only one I can't come up if they have a gun and they are too far enough to fight with gun and if they sneak right behind you with a gun pointed against the back.

Definitely want to get to a gym and try those out on a real life big guy before you rely upon them on the street!

Well, that was in a nonthreatening situation, and I did kinda like the guy.

I'm around 5'10" myself.

That being said, my ex didn't always appreciate it if I hug-picked-up her.

I would not have liked being manhandled.

There's definitely a time and place (and consent) for being manhandled.

It can be insanely hot, incredibly obnoxious,  or downright frightening.  I've found guys often aren't super clear on how and when those apply.

@Ivy I was raised in a family of huggers, you didn't go into any of my relative's homes without getting a hug from everyone there. It was repeated when you were leaving. My wife on the other hand was raised in a household of introverts and they barely made eye contact, when you visited them. She says one of the best things about being accepted into our family was all the hugs. Now that we're the elders of the families, no one comes into our home without getting hugged. My best friend was raised in a military family, and he went on to be a West Point manly man. They always shook hands as their greetings. I believe I'm the the first person he's ever hugged out of gratefulness and love. On Super Bowl weekend 2008 I informed him that we were a match, and I could donate him a kidney. From that day forward he has hugged me while leaning back, lifting me off the ground. Like you I love it! He has really changed his opinion of LGBTQ people and realizes his bigoted ideology   was out of ignorance and upbringing. The Army taught him to loose his racism and his daughter taught him to accept LGBTQIA folks while she was in college. I will be getting hugs from him this week as we're going on our annual trout fishing trip.

You've been >HUGGED<

My friends know: you need to file a hug requisition form in triplicate at least 180 days prior to the touching event.

Nothing personal,  but >99% of hug requisitions are declined, due to resource scarcity.

I blade from people who encroach on my personal space.

Even my knuckleheaded boyfriend would rest his hand on my waist or hip to get my temperature before getting close. And never on my right side.

Whew I would love to be touched! I wouldn't matter even if it was in public. To be able to feel that affection! I guess I'm just a hapless romantic.

I do spoken word acting, and give Trans 101 talks and other public speaking.  I wear make-up for those occasions.  Sephora is easy for me to get to, and has a foundation that does a good job for me and the sales folks there are Trans Friendly.  Their eye shadow pallets are also fun to use. Another source of my foundation is Ulta which carries Dermablend that does a consistent job of my lower face and chin.   I just use good old Revlon lipsticks because I ruin them by leaving my purse in the hot car too often.

I'm not interested in makeup, jewelry or nice clothes or girly stuff.  It's made me wonder at times.   It saves some money.  If I wore a skirt it would likely  be denim.  I thought about a woman's skirt suit but nah.   Neither of my sisters are into that stuff either.  One likes peasant chic (still a 60s flower girl)  and the other - the only time she has ever worn a dress was at her wedding.  Jeans at all other times.   Jeans and t shirt here.  Content being a girl.  Weirdo. Weirda? Never mind.

@Ladypcnj Before posting links to other group's websites, PM one of the Staff (preferably an Admin) and have them check that site out.   We have specific rules here regarding age appropriateness and would need to know that the other site is in line with those rules.  We do have members here between 13 and 18 and other sites need to be safe for that age range, legally and otherwise.  Also, we are not a dating or pick-up site, not do we allow people selling things to advertise here.  As I said clear the link with a moderator or admin before posting it.  Mod's and admins do check out posts and if we find problem links we will remove them and notify the OP of a rules violation.  Go to https://www.transgenderpulse.com/community-rules to understand where we are.

I raise my hand in the group, I have a question and a suggestion... is it allowed to share other new lgbtq+ website links here?
    • Ladypcnj
Yeah, ELF is a good brand, another brand is Revlon ColorStay last 24 hours.

I really don't think that's a good idea. The unity of the LGB and T community is historic and has been central for both groups rights. And the vast majority of people advocating for splitting the two are transphobic LGB's who are broadly condemned by the community anyway.

A bit late in updating, but I've had the draft of the official diagnosis and have (as yet unconfirmed) an endo consultation next month.   Next to arrive will be the supporting documentation for my new passport application for my correct gender.  This will then be my official ID for all the other updates - bank, tax, payroll etc.   It just feels good to to be proactive again rather than waiting for other people to move at a leisurely pace.

I like ELF brand cosmetics, I can pick them up at JC Penny.    I wear makeup everyday, but mostly just very light makeup.
