But I'm also really into electronic music, especially experimental, big beat, and House artists such as Fatboy Slim, The Black Ghosts, Fake Blood, Underworld, Venetian Snares, Autechre, She Wants Revenge, and Chromeo. 1. Creature Feature: This death rock band is dark yet not excessively morbid or violent like death metal. It also has songs that reference literature which makes my book worm soul squeal in joy.

2. Abney Park- This is an electronica band about a group of steampunk air pirates.

3. Flight of the Conchords- this is a comedy band that is absolutely hilarious

4. Emilie Autumn- an awesome industrial musician who has beautiful lyrics

5. Inkubus Sukkubus- an ethereal pagan rock band

6. Iron Maiden- classic heavy metal

7. Oomph!- a morbid and sometimes cryptic industrial metal band

I like this type of dance music called eurobeat, which is made in Italy, but sold in Japan and sung primarily in English. It really stands out of the norm, which is probably why it's not that well-known, but I'm totally addicted to it and I've been listening to it since November of 2006. It's fast, energetic, catchy, but also very melodic.

I also like J-pop, eurodance, and jazz. My favorite group that doesn't fit under any of these genres is The Offspring.

If you like bands with female leads, you should check out Halestorm. They're a newer hard rock/alternative metal band (kinda like hair metal, they've borrowed a lot from 70s and 80s rock & metal and some 90s post-grunge styles as well.) Amazing female lead, great voice, the girls love her b/c a lot of younger girls look up to her as a role model and a lot of women think her music is female-empowering. The boys love her b/c well... she's a HOT rocker chick.

A lot of my playlist is older punk like The Clash, Sex Pistols or The Stalin. Right now I'm especially into Bad Religion.

Experimental is also pretty awesome (The Residents, Einstürzende Neubauten, Swans...).

Also post-rock (God is an Astronaut, Mono, Set Fire To Flames, This Will Destroy You, Godspeed You! Black Emperor), some post-punk/goth rock (Fields of the Nephilim, Christian Death), some industrial (Rammstein, Combichrist, KMFDM, Ministry).

I also like some contemporary classical and movie soundtracks. A good movie just isn't complete without a good soundtrack. Some notable examples would be "The Piano" (music by Michael Nyman), "Schindler's List" (music by John Williams) or "Amélie" (music by Yann Tiersen).

Also, I'm currently somewhat obsessed with hardcore punk (Minor Threat, Converge, Architects). I don't really have any all-time favourite bands... I was a huge Dir en grey fan for some time, though. They're amazing.

This is a topic that I always tend to talk a lot about and then go into hour-long discussions about minor details and all... so I guess this is the shortest way to put it while giving enough information for you to get the picture xD
