I am not a Slipknot fan in general, however I ran across the acoustic version of this song ages ago and fell in love with it. Only recently I looked up the official video and girl was I surprised. Make sure you watch to the end. Warning... this is not a happy video.

Just thinking of a wonderful Tom Petty song I did for our Annual FOOD FOR THE HUNGRY concert in Decemberto raise money for the homeless. That's me as Tom Petty in attached photos.

gosh I was listening to a couple Tom Petty tracks and it reminded me of an under appreciated artist... loved this guy from the moment I first heard Crazy Mama. On the album he also wrote After Midnight covered by Eric Clapton, Bring it on Back from Mexico covered by Kansas and Call Me the Breeze covered by Lynnyrd Skinnyrd. Oh and he wrote Magnolia covered by Poco and a little song Clapton covered called Cocaine.

I used to say when J J  put out his first album, I could envision him leaning back on a chair and being so laid back, I could imagine him falling over. LOL

Today was Lindsey Sterling (with Lzzy Hale). I wish I could move like that. On the other hand, oncoming traffic probably thought I was a crazy person dancing (badly) down the sidewalk.

Also some Mystery Skulls,

Hugs!

Ah, back to the days of <3 minute songs.  So much is said in so little time.

"There's a woman that you ought to know

And she's coming, singing soft and low

Singing rock and roll, she's a joy to know"

@JaniJohn Lennon once said that if you could not said something in 2-3 minutes, you shouldn'y say it

@Cyndee My favorite Buffalo Springfield song is Bluebird although Roll & Roll Woman and Mr. Soul are close behind and For What It's Worth is in a category all its own....

AUGUST 5 - I was thinking this morningthat each of us have our own journey in life and no one can tell you how you should live it and that we all have our struggles but we must embrace our fears and recognize every roadblock is just a short term issue to address to get to the who that you are.....

Secret 'O Life

The secret of life is enjoying the passage of time
Any fool can do it
There ain't nothing to it
Nobody knows how we got to
The top of the hill
But since we're on our way down
We might as well enjoy the ride
The secret of love is in opening up your heart
It's okay to feel afraid
But don't let that stand in your way
'Cause anyone knows that love is the only road
And since we're only here for a while
Might as well show some style
Give us a smile
Isn't it a lovely ride?
Sliding down
Gliding down
Try not to try too hard
It's just a lovely ride
Now the thing about time is that time
Isn't really real
It's just your point of view
How does it feel for you
Einstein said he could never understand it all
Planets spinning through space
The smile upon your face
Welcome to the human race
Some kind of lovely ride
I'll be sliding down
I'll be gliding down
Try not to try too hard
It's just a lovely ride
Isn't it a lovely ride?
See me sliding down
Gliding down
Try not to try too hard
It's just a lovely ride
The secret of life is enjoying the passage of time

Gosh - the next song I heard tells it - when others give you negative - give them a flower and smile

In regard to "Secret 'o Life" isn't it amazing how some songs really hit the point and speak to us in a deep manner?   I've always loved the positive message in "Shower the People".

Don't think Americans would go for the "compulsory" part. We kind of like not being told what to do ... Amazingly, there is great pushback on voter ID laws. The opponents say it discourages voting, especially among the poor and minorities. That is really a smokescreen IMO for those who want to harvest ballots from as many places as possible, including folks who don't exist or don't hold citizenship...

Pretty soon I think I might be ready to talk about gender-affirming care for kids, possibly w/r/t the Cass Review and its shortcomings.

She was a beautiful young woman ...   "What we do know is that the offender was a very violent individual and should not have been on our streets.”  Whether gender related or not, the mental health and incarceration issues in our country are incredibly bad and need to be addressed.

April,   I'm glad my entries are interesting to you.  TransCentralPA is a great organization with so many caring people.  I would strongly recommend you find a way to attend the Keystone Conference.  I guarantee you'll find it an amazing experience.     Hugs,   Sally

Dear @Sally Stone.  I think you should author a memoir based on these posts (maybe you're already working towards that?).  You could decide at a later time if/when you might want to publish.   I appreciate you sharing your deep connection with your friend Willa (and I am sorry for your loss) and the benefit of having a Trans friend and mentor in our Life and Journey.  I was fortunate to have found one also in our TGP friend @Kasumi63.   As you know we share many common Life themes in our stories.  Drop me a PM if you'd like to chat about it.  Looking forward to the next 'chapter'.

Voting is compulsory here, for better or worse. Would doing the same in the US snap people out of their apathy?

I am noting you use CRT terminology.  The comment is not out of the blue.  Some of your remarks on religion suggest atheism.  So it is believable that you are a Marxist, knowingly or not.  Are you?

Congrats to your family on the new addition!

Funny you think that I would be able to get through more than two sentences with how bad my stutter gets (joking, of course)   My topic would probably be mythology, random Japan factoids in my mind, or a favorite story   (Best option would be a fave story of mine including a lot of factoids on Japanese myths-)

Congratulations @ivy. Nothing beats a family growing two feet at a time!

I read each of your entries and learn so much. Thank you, especially, for the TransCentralPA info. I have been looking fora group and activities where I could express myself safely and with support. I missed this year's conference but next year might be possible and I am going to look at their other events, too.

I have read numerous accounts of trans folk no longer being welcome among evangelicals.   I am here for help and fellowship not to rebuke anyone.  I can take a pretty high degree of insult, etc., and you haven't insulted me, to my recollection anyway :) and I usually let it go.  But I thought I would let it all out there.   I am sure I disagree with you on numerous issues.  I appreciate other people's viewpoints, including those who radically disagree with me.  Intellectual challenge is good. One thing I appreciate about @MaeBe.
