Myuu, nothing is final yet... But... Elise just... seems right. It came to me, it suited me, and whenever I said or heard it... It felt right, I felt warm and tingly on the inside. =p (You get what I mean.)

I came up with Cerise from an item of clothing I had ordered and that was the color . It's a color of a purplish red . My full name is Cerise Noir , just a little pretentious , but I like wearing black and well , that's it. Also a play on Sirius Black from Harry Potter but in no way related to Clarice Starling from Silence of the Lambs [hmm didn't know her last name was Starling until just now].

The Rose thread is there to my legal name.

My spouse, who not only tolerates my transition to female, but actively encourages it, gave me my name. Since, in a very real sense, she gave birth to me as a woman, it was appropriate that she should have naming rights. I'm not sure where 'Mishie' came from, but 'Marie" is her middle name, and so I became Mishie Marie, and nothing has been quite the same ever since. And there is no going back.

My official woman's name is Jeanne Louise sand my maternal grandmother last name. Kayla is just short for Kay with the la added on. That was given me by a friend who is also a transgendered female because I want to go by JK. :P

I haven't decided yet. I really like the names Kimmy and Rose, but I think I would like to be named Autumn. I haven't started transition yet, so I still have time to decide!

I did mine the easy way: I looked up popular baby named for the year I was born, narrowed the list down to top 3 and if I was waffling between those I'd ask my female friends which one they liked better.

In my case I had it narrowed down between Melissa and Elizabeth.

the middle name will be Anne since that's the middle name of all the girls in the family, so I asked my friends and they agreed Elizabeth was the better of the two..plus something about how a few friends know a few Melissa's and they're all b----es so they didn't want me to become one too! lol.

and as a nickname everyone calls me Liz.

Beth sounded waaaaaay too overly girlie, which I'm not.

Well I'm finally going to 'fess up' here, I have put so much thought into all of my posts and thinking things through so carefully that most people who know me are going to be expecting a novel that evetually discloses the source of my name - Sorry!

When I decided to start really researching transsexuality in January of this year, I didn't want to put all of those searches and sites on my work E-mail account or my personal one. I decided to open a sub account under a female name - I openned the control center and typed in Sally Michelle.

I have no idea where Sally came from, I had planned on Michelle as a first or middle name but Sally had never even popped into my head until that moment!

It just seemd right so I kept it!

No thought just feelings.

Love ya,

Sally

I just feminized my middle name and came up with Jaymie...not too original but i have always thought it was a cute name. Definitely will be the name i go with if i decide to transition. :)

:o I never posted to this? Wow - thought I had. For the record, Elizabeth is a family name of great distinction and long history. I am the fourth to carry it as a first name, several have it as a middle name. Liz belongs to me exlusively and this site's chat room gave it to me. All the family Elizabeths were Bess or Bessie.

And Anne is my middle name - from a place I won't say - just the 'I miss you so much." :(

Do they look down and frown? No - I asked - they are very happy for me... never mind how I know. :D

Ashlee, well the story of that is not really deep, like so many of you that have family ties to your names - which is really cool. :D

Its just that I am a fan of Ashley Judd, mainly the way she presents herself. And that she is sooooo pretty! I just spun off her name changing the "y" to another "e"

As for a middle name, I'm not really sure. Havn't given it much thought...

Mine was fairly easy, at least the first name, it is just the female version of my male name Dennis = Denise. Besides it is what my mom would have named me if I had been born in the right body and it just feels natural to me. Also have been called Denise many times in the past when people wrote my name, go figure.

As to my middle name not sure yet because it is Neal, which was my mom's maiden name and also my clan name (I have Irish and Scot in me) and am very proud of that. In fact my son has the same middle name (hope it will be a tradition when he has kids years from now) since my uncle (my mom's only sibling) only has a daughter and I wanted to be able to carry on that family name in some way. So not sure if I will change it to some female version or not. Any thoughts are appreciated.

I have a niece named Ashlee!

..and I'm an Elizabeth Anne too.

Anne because that's the family middle name for the women in the family. Elizabeth because..well..I looked up baby names for my birth year and my original name Allison wasn't on the list so I looked at names that were popular when I was born and narrowed it down to Elizabeth or Melissa. then I asked my friends which they preferred and it was almost unanimously Elizabeth.

then I had to decide on a nickname. I'm not girlie-girl enough for Beth so that was out, so I went with Liz.

and as a play on Lizzie McGuire since I'm a truck driver, I made my online username Lizzie McTrucker.

I play video games and online games and always play female characters; they really become me when I'm online. I love making up names for them and have several names that I like but Irielle has become my favorite - I like the vowels and soft consonants. It became my log on name and other players know me as Irielle and know me as a girl. It just seemed natural to keep it when I needed my real life girl's name because it was already part of me. It's such a pretty name to me and it's unusual enough that I get nice comments and compliments.

Have you read the original book series and manga sequal? (I've read all the books and played 2 of the standard video game series. I would have played more, but I can never find them.)

Mia is indeed the 6th phase, but she didn't even know it and she pretended to be an NPC actually (PC's cant have cat avatars as pointed out in the original book series). She is very good friends with Elk, a PC who spends all of his time getting her aromatic grass, which she claims smells good even though there are no smells in The World. when other phases were being destroyed, she started talking funny, and leaving Elk, even though she usually stayed with him. After Kite killed the phase, she was left behind, returned to her usual state, and Elk was overjoyed!

.Hack is AMAZING!!!!

O.K. mia1 ia actually an acronym forMelanoma Inhibitory Activity, found and isolated in the common brown rat genome and has not been isolated in the human genome because it is polymorphic and has mutated into 21,163 permeations.

Do you believe me?

I am a little confused about the word in your title there.    Defamation is a variation I know about, and it is akin to Libel and Slander in meaning, and could be the object of a court action or a couple of types.   If you are referring to the act of denying or taking away your feminine gender, ie. they keep using masculine names and pronouns or referring to you as  a "man" or "man in a dress", then yes it happens to me on rare occasion and if it is online, I simply block the moron doing it or leave the group where they are doing it, and may or may not come back if the person is there.  When people are willing to learn about Trans Folks I do give what are jokingly referred to as Trans 101 or even more in depth classes to the receptive and accepting audiences.  I DO NOT however try to teach a pig to sing, which as they say sounds like hell and annoys the pig.  If someone is invalidating your gender, get away from them safely and FAST.

I'm not sure they can do this.  Not on line anyway.  LOL   Defamation?  Not that I personally know of.

Nice! I've found myself shopping around for astrophotography gear more than once but haven't taken the plunge yet. To close to a metro area to do it from my home.

Well, this last post brings my trans life up to date.  What happens from here is anyone's guess.  The next big milestone will be retirement, probably next year some time.  I don't think that will change things much for Sally because as I have stated previously, I am in a mostly happy place where she is concerned.    I do have a few more posts planned, as I would like to write in more detail about a few occurrences that were memorable to me.  Hopefully they will be of interest to others.    Hugs,   Sally

Has anyone been a victim of online defemination? and what to do about it?
    • Vidanjali
Yes, this is very therapeutic. You are able to see different aspects of your own personality. There is the part which has survived life thus far through decision making and lots of trial and error. That part of you is your wise and capable parent. When you feel strongly identified with the scared child in you, you can turn to the wise parent part of you whom you trust to guide you. You have faith and trust in that part of you necessarily because it has gotten you this far. Naturally, we all have room for improvement and advancement, but you can only start where you are and try to do your best with what you have to work with and deal with. But by adopting this attitude, you see that wise parental part of you become stronger, wiser, and more steadfast and skillful. Then the child in you increasingly becomes more trusting and carefree.

You want to hear coincidence? I just posted that and my neighbor just texted me and said she has been up early because there were Northen Lights outside. Then 2 seconds later I get an extreme weather alert. “We are experiencing Extreme Geomagnetic conditions observed and continued severe geomagnetic storms expected to continue through the weekend”.

No you aren't!!  There were reports from Texas, Arkansas and the Carolinas of spectacular shows last night.  This is a once-in-a-lifetime event, the best show since 1938, someone said.  Tonight is supposed to be just as good.  (OK, maybe a twice-in-a-lifetime event.  )
    • Susan R
@KathyLauren That’s absolutely beautiful. Love those colors! That would be so nice to see some time. I’m too far South to ever see these spectacular events.   Very Nice, Susan R🌷
