What a great slow rocker by Tom Petty......

I love the way they raise chords (voicing lift) the bass goes up an octave, creates a nice effect

yes - I am in love with the entire FEEL of the song - a buried treasure I can't wait to play....

By the way - my lead player is such a nit picker when it comes to sounds and styles - I'm sure he willemulate the Leslie to a T in NO MATTER WHAt. You should hear his sound on NORWEGIAN WOOD

@Dinaki that is a wonderful collaboration!  Thank you for sharing it.

@Cyndee That is a super example of dreams lost and the reality of it.

But like this is Lower Broadway

@Dinaki I missed the Freddie Mercury.cool. I saw a Carol Burnett show where she sang Send in the Clowns. My wide thought Joni Mitchell wrote it. I said no. Turns out Stephen Sondheim wrote it. Said freddie did a version. Can't wait to get to my pc to hear it.

Bummer - the Freddie Mercury version of Send in the Clowns is instrumental....

So I guess my second choice for listing to today.... let's put on a little Supertramp... my personal favorite of theirs...

@Shay - wonderful tune. They have so many. Used to play along on harmonica to "Long way home", great memories...

I still am the harp player on our Beatles and Petty songs requiring it. It is a struggle sometimes to sing, play bass, play harp on YOU DON'T KNOW HOW IT FEELS, MARY JANE'S LAST DANCE, I SHOULD HAVE KNOW BETTER, LOSER and LOVE ME DO (this one I have to fake the notes on lead section as they used a different key harp in the studio and I tried to pick up the right key for theat part but it was way too much effort for so little payback).

And my other favorite Supertramp song ... Bloody Well Right....

Another great band.  We saw them in August '83 in Worcester, MA before Roger Hodgson left.  They spoke about it on stage.

never saw them - but it was sad they couldn't work things out because every band needs more than one talented writer and voice....

Thanks for the encouragement...

Love ELP and Freddie.

So just to re-affirm my love for the non-conforming. A group I have followed since the early '70s is this quirky English band called "Stackridge". almost impossible to pin any genre on them, Two of them became the "Korgis" after they split up in the 70s. But they then reformed in around 2000. Got to see them at a number of gigs until their final bow gig in 2015.

One of my favourite of their post reformation tracks is this - The Red Squirrel - about a fight back against the Grey Squirrels decimating the English population of "Reds".

@Niamh Thanks for sharing.  I really enjoyed listening.  I found other performances on YT and got a full taste.  Nice!!

@Teri Anne Very good version of a Foreigner hit.  The lead singer's voice is phenomenal.

Don't think Americans would go for the "compulsory" part. We kind of like not being told what to do ... Amazingly, there is great pushback on voter ID laws. The opponents say it discourages voting, especially among the poor and minorities. That is really a smokescreen IMO for those who want to harvest ballots from as many places as possible, including folks who don't exist or don't hold citizenship...

Pretty soon I think I might be ready to talk about gender-affirming care for kids, possibly w/r/t the Cass Review and its shortcomings.

She was a beautiful young woman ...   "What we do know is that the offender was a very violent individual and should not have been on our streets.”  Whether gender related or not, the mental health and incarceration issues in our country are incredibly bad and need to be addressed.

April,   I'm glad my entries are interesting to you.  TransCentralPA is a great organization with so many caring people.  I would strongly recommend you find a way to attend the Keystone Conference.  I guarantee you'll find it an amazing experience.     Hugs,   Sally

Dear @Sally Stone.  I think you should author a memoir based on these posts (maybe you're already working towards that?).  You could decide at a later time if/when you might want to publish.   I appreciate you sharing your deep connection with your friend Willa (and I am sorry for your loss) and the benefit of having a Trans friend and mentor in our Life and Journey.  I was fortunate to have found one also in our TGP friend @Kasumi63.   As you know we share many common Life themes in our stories.  Drop me a PM if you'd like to chat about it.  Looking forward to the next 'chapter'.

Voting is compulsory here, for better or worse. Would doing the same in the US snap people out of their apathy?

I am noting you use CRT terminology.  The comment is not out of the blue.  Some of your remarks on religion suggest atheism.  So it is believable that you are a Marxist, knowingly or not.  Are you?

Congrats to your family on the new addition!

Funny you think that I would be able to get through more than two sentences with how bad my stutter gets (joking, of course)   My topic would probably be mythology, random Japan factoids in my mind, or a favorite story   (Best option would be a fave story of mine including a lot of factoids on Japanese myths-)

Congratulations @ivy. Nothing beats a family growing two feet at a time!

I read each of your entries and learn so much. Thank you, especially, for the TransCentralPA info. I have been looking fora group and activities where I could express myself safely and with support. I missed this year's conference but next year might be possible and I am going to look at their other events, too.

I have read numerous accounts of trans folk no longer being welcome among evangelicals.   I am here for help and fellowship not to rebuke anyone.  I can take a pretty high degree of insult, etc., and you haven't insulted me, to my recollection anyway :) and I usually let it go.  But I thought I would let it all out there.   I am sure I disagree with you on numerous issues.  I appreciate other people's viewpoints, including those who radically disagree with me.  Intellectual challenge is good. One thing I appreciate about @MaeBe.

      Congrats!
