A song that popped in my head last night while trying to fall asleep, "Little Bit O' Soul" by The Little Darlings in 1965.  I was in elementary school when it came out and it was very popular.  Simple chords, simple lyrics.

"Now when you're feelin' low and the fish won't bite
You need a little bit o' soul to put you right "

My wife and I attended the performance of ‘the Jersey boys’ on Friday, she had purchased the tickets long ago for Father’s Day, and wasn’t sure if we were going to go together or not since we’re getting a divorce. But I told her it was a great idea and that why would we not go since we still love each other? Wouldn’t we still go as friends? She thought about it and said yeah, I guess we would. So we went. The whole Frankie Valli story is absolutely amazing, and the music of the production was Beyond reproach, I cannot imagine the music and the voices sounding any more perfect than they did. It was really strange that the progression of songs was almost speaking to me personally, my wife picked up on this and poked fun at me and I thought it was a great time. As the music progressed through the years the song ‘big girls don’t cry’ and ‘walk like a man’ played in succession and it was just too funny, my wife and I laughed about that.  It seems that big girls don’t cry has gotten stuck in my head today, not bad at all, I don’t really mind, it’s a really good song.

During the intermission my soon to be divorced wife and I went outside into the cool night air surrounded by the skyscrapers and the open purple/pink sky, we went to the snack area and got a couple of cheese plates, neither of us had wine, and we found a small table to stand at and marvel at the cool evening evening sky. Some private jet planes flew overhead so close I thought they were going to scrape the top of the buildings, and we both marveled at this little space we had found that seemed peaceful yet busy, and we both enjoyed just being there in that moment. I knew it was romantic, and I took advantage of it, she let me kiss her not once but twice, and she’ll probably regret it later, but at the moment it was just fine. She told others that I stole kisses, and I fully admit those kisses were stolen, but only the right space and time allowed it. I wonder how many kisses I will get to steal from her when I’m a woman.

’Big Girls Don’t Cry’ might need to be playing.

Hugs,

Jae

I'm happy that you had a good time and hope that you have many more opportunities for evenings like it.

Jae that sounds like a beautiful night to remember.  This Jersey girl, despite being bigger than most, can certainly cry.

I was listening to The Traveling Wilbury's Vol. 3 in my car today.  Only two of them are still with us; Jeff Lynne and Bob Dylan.  May their souls be at rest wherever they are; Roy Orbison, George Harrison, and Tom Petty.  Great voices all.

In the car today I played Bridge of Sighs, by Robin Trower.  It was his second solo album, released in 1974.

For me it's Nora Jones album Come Away With Me.

I know this is a really old post, but I danced at my wedding with my wife to this wonderful song, we practiced ballroom dancing in the middle of an empty rug cleaning warehouse in Mountain View twice a week, at first we were just nervous and trying to figure out the steps but as time went by we enjoyed dancing with each other in this warehouse...  I remember the rugs hanging from all sides, and a makeshift dance floor in the middle of it all, like a huge maple cutting board, just for us to dance on... After the first few lessons the instructor didn’t really talk to us, she just play the music and we danced to Nora Jones,  and I remember it to this day, At the wedding I had a little bit to drink but nothing too much, just a glass or two of champagne, and I was feeling great when they announced the dance... The music started and we moved to the dance floor, the crowd disappeared, and we were there again in that warehouse, just us, the rugs and Norah Jones. That was 15 years ago, and thinking about it now makes me cry,  what I wouldn’t give for one more dance...

As I read this one, it is only for school bathrooms.  I hope he has signed a bill to triple the number of "security monitors" on the campuses and up their pay considerably, not to mention some other costly stuff.  Only way is for every school employee, to know the birth certificate information of each student by memory which will require 3 additional months of salary for them all.  It appears the enforcement relies on parental reports obtained from their children which opens so much up.  The kids will end up ALL with wet or soiled underwear while the parents go at each other with weapons over "family honor" over false calls based on childish name calling.

I agree. This law is impractical and impossible to evenly enforce without such ridiculous measures in place. What it will do is stigmatize the trans community in Oklahoma and nothing more but ofc, that’s the only point of it.   If I was in that state and needed a restroom, there’s no chance I’d ever step foot in the men’s restroom because of some law. I know I’m not alone in that thinking. This law won’t stand the test of time.

I asked AI to create an image of myself 30 years younger based off my avatar on another site and this was the result:     Wow! I am amazed how close it got my 30 year old face!

Quite true.  The amusing thing about opposites is how similar they can be.   My family left Greece because of the conflict between the communists and the militarists/fascists.

This wouldn't even be a problem if they would just leave us alone.  It is a no-brainer.

OMG.  I'm glad it wasn't worse, and you were able to get on it quickly.  Lots of blood can be scary.

Like I said, I'm no tankie, but I do see a world of difference between Joseph Stalin and Bernie Sanders.   If the point is not wanting 'government control' the Right is pretty good at that themselves - as they've been demonstrating lately. This stuff gets complicated.

So, I am curious. Is the Governor going to mandate vaginal or penile recognition photos before one enters the restroom? Considering the Governor has no balls to do the right thing, will he have to pee against a tree outside? Inquiring minds would like to know. I love it when the job recruiters contact me about the wonderful jobs available in Oklahoma. It is so much fun telling them there is no way I will ever go to Oklahoma. When there are no workers, then they can shutter the place.

Thank you! I'm out of coffee so I have been drinking hot tea instead. Looking forward to the 1st. It's crazy that we are almost in May. This year has flown by really quick! Good to hear that y'all got to sleep in. Hope you have a good weekend too!

It's nice to care about others but you need to live your life as you please. No one be your only source of happiness. Love yourself and don't look back. I lost over 40 family members it hurts but apparently, they didn't truly love me. True love will always be there through the thick and thin. I can honestly say that HRT has made me think in ways that I never thought I would. I get myself some shoes or clothes every month because retail therapy not only helps but it is a reward to myself to show love. I have over 100 dresses. I have a whole walk-in-closet full of clothes and 67 pairs of shoes. I love who I am. I was born in 84 so not all people in the 80's think that way. As far as the name just take your time and be happy with it. I knew I loved the name Ashley. Take care and welcome!
