To some of those I left behind in the dust....this channels some the rage experienced of dysphoria rather aptly....Dark warning.....

From 1992 and STP - Piece of Pie....

I'm listening to Abby Road - The Beatles (1969), I never grow tired of it.

My favorite song on the album is "you never give me your money" and the following medley....

"Step on the gas and wipe that tear away"

I love it !! I hear the messages, and am an active listener....

And think it's so cool the bass player is a lefty....Not the common way....

The guitar work in this piece is stellar, from our friends up north, eh ? Straight ahead shuffle, boogie, peddle to the metal, and just makes my body move to the groove....

April Wine - Roller (1978). The radical double leads that lead up to the evolving overtones of the Marshall stacks at 2:50 - 3:08 is just so deep....

For all you rock chicks, She's a roller.....

Yes and its a right hand bass that he's strung backwards.  Similar to Jimi with his Strat.

I had forgotten about April Wine.  Got to love the clothing and hair back then.  Very feminine overtones.

I am going to really blow the windows out with this one, but my partner put 'The Sound of Music' on the DVD yesterday. I just had tears streaming down my face ?

Sometimes odd things can get emotional.

No you won't, that is wonderful music!   For those of a certain age it definitely will bring memories of youth back.  Tears?  Fully understandable.   Enjoy every note.

I’ve been checking out Emily Rowed lately. She has some really good chill music but the remixes are very nice too.

Is it just me? Or does that drummer in April Wine look a lot like Common Sense, the rapper/actor?

Yeah Josie Beth, he could have copied his look, who knows ?

They are all great musicians, I kinda think the lead singer in the April Wine vid is the cutest.....❤️

The video for the original version of this was great.  I believe it was one of the first to use animation and live action together.

Our current regular car tune... it gets listened to every day as we drive. My son has listened to this and AC/DC ever since watching Megamind, between that and Guardians of the Galaxy he has some great tunes on his playlist now, so I rarely change the songs...

I dragged out my copy of The Essential Jimi Hendrix and played disk one while I was on the treadmill.   For those who aren't Jimi aficionados this is a good set to have.  There's the psychedelic music everyone knows him for but also blues, rock, jazz, ballads and more.  The full range of Jimi talent is present along with Mitch Michell's jazz infused drumming backed up by the rhythm of Noel Redding's sublime bass playing.

Wave on, wave on"

Enjoy! Jani

I love that tune "If 6 was 9", it plays like an anthem to me.

Jimi is our local home town hero, his remains are buried in the Renton Highlands above where he grew up. There is a memorial for him there. Jimi's music was/is very inspirational for me. One of the cover bands I was in, we played "Fire", I never grew tired of playing those bass lines, that tune drives me, it was always one of my favorites in our set, people love that tune, it moves and it grooves...

So this morning I got out my Jimi and listening to "Freedom"

I love "Fire".  In the studio version its as if Noel played lead with the bass line driving through the whole song.

I didn't know Jimi was buried there.

I read about her this morning. What a shame! She was beautiful and it seems she had a strong support system in place and could have had a wonderful life all to have it end like this. Such a waste. I truly hope the monster that killed her gets everything he deserves.

I am so glad you enjoy them as well. The help things “stay put” so well. It got me through some of my most dysphoric times.   Wow, I hadn’t heard this at last week’s Zoom meeting if you had mentioned it. That is a huge milestone April Marie.I have no doubt that this confidence will only grow in time. The freedom of being yourself, especially in public, is a wonderful feeling. I am truly happy for you.😘   *Big Congratulatory Hug* Susan R🌷

@Abigail Genevieve, that is not an appropriate question, IMO.  This isn't the Army/McCarthy hearings.   Carolyn Marie

Don't think Americans would go for the "compulsory" part. We kind of like not being told what to do ... Amazingly, there is great pushback on voter ID laws. The opponents say it discourages voting, especially among the poor and minorities. That is really a smokescreen IMO for those who want to harvest ballots from as many places as possible, including folks who don't exist or don't hold citizenship...

Pretty soon I think I might be ready to talk about gender-affirming care for kids, possibly w/r/t the Cass Review and its shortcomings.

She was a beautiful young woman ...   "What we do know is that the offender was a very violent individual and should not have been on our streets.”  Whether gender related or not, the mental health and incarceration issues in our country are incredibly bad and need to be addressed.

April,   I'm glad my entries are interesting to you.  TransCentralPA is a great organization with so many caring people.  I would strongly recommend you find a way to attend the Keystone Conference.  I guarantee you'll find it an amazing experience.     Hugs,   Sally

Dear @Sally Stone.  I think you should author a memoir based on these posts (maybe you're already working towards that?).  You could decide at a later time if/when you might want to publish.   I appreciate you sharing your deep connection with your friend Willa (and I am sorry for your loss) and the benefit of having a Trans friend and mentor in our Life and Journey.  I was fortunate to have found one also in our TGP friend @Kasumi63.   As you know we share many common Life themes in our stories.  Drop me a PM if you'd like to chat about it.  Looking forward to the next 'chapter'.

Voting is compulsory here, for better or worse. Would doing the same in the US snap people out of their apathy?
    • Abigail Genevieve
I am noting you use CRT terminology.  The comment is not out of the blue.  Some of your remarks on religion suggest atheism.  So it is believable that you are a Marxist, knowingly or not.  Are you?
