A Place To Say Something

Wow I haven't started this many topics in one day in months and I have only altered my consciousness with 2 cups of coffee today too.

But we once had a thread here for people to post things they didn't want to start a whole thread about. Anything from a funny thought or good incident to vents and small updates.

I couldn't find the old thread which may be just as well-so I thought I'd start a new one.

Guess all I have to share here today is my wish that each finds something to smile about or laugh at today. Because for that moment all is good no matter what is may be happening.

What do you want to say or share?

Johnny

I'm working on my "last words". Yes, it's premature...but I'm not one to put things off.

Someone will want to know what they were, so I feel it's incumbent upon me to make them profound or at least worth repeating.

The problem, as I see it, is that we often don't know when our death is imminent. So timing is everything.

Imagine uttering the perfect last words, closing your eyes and then realizing that you're not quite on the way out yet. You dare not say anything, because to do so would negate what you had just put on the record. You'd just have to lie there in silence, perhaps for hours..

Awkward!

Hmmmm.

Never thought of this. Maybe I'll call my brother on the phone?

"How do you keep an idiot in suspense?"

Had a good day with people being nicer and friendlier than ever before in my life for some reason.

But I had to be away all day and will be this eveing too. So many things I want to acknowledge and so little time.

I can't imagine how people ever get bored. I always have so much more I want to do than time to do it. And then there are all those things I HAVE to do as well. I don't want to look back one day and find all those "one day" things still undone but the older I get the more there seem to be. Finally had to give up some-like the swing set I wanted to build for my granddaughter. At 12 she isn't that interested anymore. Sigh

I'm off to be a chef for the family tonight. Hope I can still remember my Chinese cooking skills.

Megan I had no idea your date was coming so soon. Wow. Congratz! And hope you have great fun at the wedding

Kay I'm fervently hoping I don't have a chance for last words. Just maybe a sigh. More likely they are going to be along the lines of "Uh Oh!". Especially if I ever give in to this mad but seductive urge to ride like the wind on a motorcycle at least once in my life. Not a good idea for someone who can be........-uhm, can't think of any other word that fits but klutz-and blind in one eye as well but what fun it would be while it lasted. A guy can dream anyway

Have a great night everybody. Hope I can catch up tomorrow

I live in the South, and in some areas I understand that "Hold my beer. Watch this!" is quite common.

This is great Johnny and all. I enjoyed catching up on this today, hope life is treating you kind by the time you read this Johnny. These threads are proven popular......

Work has me buried, that's a good thing, I have job in 2013 where I can be myself, and I don't think about my GD so much lately, life blurrin' by

Thank goodness for this thread.

Today was good and bad in many ways. I was sick all day yesterday and today and had a hard time keeping my fever down while I was trying to clean the house. (It got quite a bit messier than it should be while I was sick, and unfortunately no one around the house wanted to help.) I'm having trouble sleeping as well thanks to being sick, which kind of sucks.

But, a good thing that happened today was that I successfully prevented myself from falling into my usually late night self-hatred routine! I refused to fall into that (rather painful) slump and distracted myself with happy videos on Youtube and drawing!

I'm actually kind of proud of myself, especially since my dad was purposefully using the wrong pronouns to get at me and my step-mom kept saying that I wasn't really sick, that I was just "dealing with that time of the month".

Aside from that, I'm just trying to feel better and hang out with my fish and my dog.

<3 Hope everyone else has a good day.

Morning everybody. Yesterday I basically took a much needed day off and went back to my old lazy ways. Am feeling better for it too. Looking forward to getting back out in the woods in the springlike warmth. Too bad it's going to be raining too but I've been wet before. Makes the mushrooms grow in this case and some are really beautiful believe it or not.

Crossit I am impressed and very proud for you. Finding positive rather than negative ways to cope with and respond to the stresses and pain we face can make all the difference in your life. I had always heard and known that you cannot change others-just yourself and your own response-but had trouble practicing it. When I finally did it radically altered an intolerable situation in my family and has trickled down so my whole family is functioning better. It's amazing what staying positive will accomplish

Cashier: "Have a great day!"

Me: "I have a Great Dane. Is that close enough?"

Cashier: (totally blank face, rendered speechless)

Winn-Dixie's a tough gig.

LOL! Kay, you're a gem!

Mine is: Do you walk to work, or do you carry you lunch? Giggle.

It's my birthday today, I'm one. Not a phase, a date. Doctor Bob's kids here know what that is.

I bought a bigger purse today because it was pointed out in another forum that a larger purse will make you look smaller.

By that rationale, I'll need a purse the size of a Volkswagon Bug...

This girl thing is still wonderful and incredible. I got my nails filled today and went with hot pink, for no other reason simply than "because I can". Last time I got pink the shade on the bottle was "Barbie Pink". For those that know me, this would not come as a surprise. lol. I'm actually more girly than some lady truckers I know. Not all, but some. There are some girls more girly than me and that's okay, we're all just doing our thing. I also found out by Texas standards I don't wear nearly enough makeup....

This made me laugh out loud, through the coughing!!! He'll, I'd need one that size too!

I used the same rational on my motorized bicycle. A tall seat post and a 6" steering head extention. A girl friend gave me a really large purse too. Who knows maybe I look like a midget riding it.

I don't think a 20" wide purse and a 47" tall bike is going to get a 6' tall girl into the petite sizes at the thrift store, Giggle. Hug. Little JodyAnn

"Transgendered" is kind of a funny word.

I don't care much what people call me, and I don't want to engage in semantics (my least favorite antics, by the way...).

But In one sense it implies that something was done to us. It may have involved pixie dust and mysterious incantations. "Poof! You've been transgendered!" Well, thank you...I think.

Perhaps the word refers to something we did to ourselves. "What happened to Fred?" "Didn't you hear? He transgendered." "Oh, okay. Well, we're still on for bowling though...right?"

Or, maybe it's something we do to others. "Damn. I think Laura just transgendered me." "No...that's stuff's not contagious, is it?" "Well, it's not supposed to be, but I stood close to her yesterday and now I've got this pesky rash."

I'm currently in Texas. I decided to wear my hair down today. Normally when I wear my hair down I like to wear hoop earrings. Well I have 3 different sizes and I was trying to figure out what size to wear. Then I thought "Since I'm in Texas, I should probably wear the biggest ones I have."

Bought a beautiful wool coat today. Custom tailored, pretty feminine gothic styling. Won't be in for a while. But I'm excited none the less! It beautiful.

A cowgirl hat doesn't go with my style. :)

Just get one of those nifty hat hangers on the cab ceiling. Just make sure the hat is can't miss it pink. You won't have to wear it that way and you will be good to go from McAllen north to Tulsa.

Truthfully I never had a problem in Texas, But in Okie, I bought one. Driving through twice a week I felt naked without one. Giggle. That was back in the boy day though. Hug. Jody

Sounds great! If you care to model it, or just show it, that would make a cool pic for your gallery? Hug. JodyAnn

Megan what an experience. Just want to give you a hug and thank you for reminding me how precious life is. And fragile. Think I'll relish the moments I have today even more.

C Rae so glad you have your music. Wish I could hear you. My one wish that will never come try would be to be able to make music rather than just getting lost in listening to it.

Hugs to all.

Out with Meg last night for pizza take out, I had the pizza box and other goodies in both hands, with my purse over my shoulder, this guy that had just entered seeing me as I was approaching the door and went seemingly way out of his way (back peddled) to hold the door for Meg and I as we were leaving with our takeout. This person has no idea how much this small act of kindness meant to me last night after such a dark and dysphoric week. I thanked him and smiled as we left :) So refreshing to run into this nice guy.
