You made me think about it. Wow, I've been here almost 5 months already. I feel so much better about myself and have so much more confidence.

Good morning everyone.

Please celebrate Veterans Day.  Acknowledge a Vet and thank them for their service. I am fortunate that there are no known casualties in my family since moving here.

I have a distant grandfather who is known to have fought in the Revolutionary war.  We seen to have missed the civil and Spanish American wars,  my father was in France for WWI, My half brother in Italy in WWII.  my father-in-law served during Korea and I served during Vietnam.

unfortunately , many did not survive but gave “the last full measure” to their country so that we could be here today.

To all the veterans who are part of this community, thank you for your service.

Willow, Sgt USAF

Here in Canada, today is known as Remembrance Day.  Most years, my wife and I go to a nearby village that has a Remembrance Day service, to honour both our fathers and her mother, all of whom served in WW2.

My father served in the British Army, and was in the Royal Artillery regiment.  He fired the last shell fired in anger in the European theatre, three days after VE Day.  My wife's father was in the Royal Canadian Navy, and worked in the engine room of a destroyer on D-Day.  My wife's mother was in the Canadian Women's Army Corps.  She really did wear army boots!

My mother was not in the armed forces, but she did live through bombing raids.  She recalled huddling in the bomb shelter, listening to the bombs getting closer and wondering if the next one would get her.

We remember them all.

Ain't it interesting that no matter the huge self-doubt is the train is unstoppable?

Does feel like a dam breaking...going from "I could never" to "I could never NOT" in one big burst.

So true.

@Willow @KathyLauren My grandfather and some of his brothers-in-law were in WWII. They never really believed in talking about it though. My uncle, one of my favorite people in the world, was in the military in Vietnam in a non-combat role, though apparently still had some close calls (it's kind of amazing just how much he's survived both in and out of the military). Another uncle and a cousin were both in the RAF.

Excellent advice!

I know it's late in the day, but I wanted to make a shout out to all my brothers and sisters who have served in the military.  I salute each of you for your service and my hearts aches for all those who made the ultimate sacrifice, which allows us the freedom to express who are.

All my respect to all veterans and their/your families.

@Ann W LOL. Is that you? You look great!

Well, yesterday was a big day. As we said, no matter our doubts and fears, the train is unstoppable. Came out to my mother, finally decided on my name and to stop dithering and hiding behind "questioning" when I actually knew what's my truth. It's time to take responsibility for it.

So now I released my questioning/doubting name (Noah) and reclaim my chosen name, Gabriel.

I wouldn't have gotten here with lightness in my body without your support. Thank you all.

@Ann WYou look fantastic.

Congrats @Gabrielon accepting yourself. From my experience that's the hardest part.

I thinking way to much about tomorrow. I'm meeting with a nurse to learn how to use an injectable form of E. I have a fear of needles. Which is kinda odd since I have 4 tattoos but it's not really the same. Can I get over myself? Considering all the other fears I've conquered over the last year this is a small step. If my girls will fill out a little more I probably won't seek top surgery. I want to give my new meds a few months to see what they do. Again I have to hurry-up and wait.

Thank you @Gabriel & @ElizabethStar  I'm starting to like the stupid face covering.  It makes me feel anonymous when shopping on the other side of the aisle.

I know what you mean about the needles Elizabeth...good luck.

That's all really big news Gabriel,  Good for you.  I was thinking about the unstoppable train all day.  You and RhondaS and HeatherNicole all referred to it.  It's like I was driving the train down this track, but now it's driving me.  I don't know what I would even go back to at this point.

Hi everyone! Haven’t posted much I’ve been playing catch-up at work since I was off for Covid. I had my endocrinologist appointment yesterday day my T levels dropped way down almost to the proper level. So I was excited. I texted a friend later and I was like I officially have really low T. I had my patch interval switched for the E. I have to go back in 2 weeks and get my E level checked to see if I should change my patch again.

Several years ago when I had surgery they sent me home with a whole pile of injections to be administered twice a day. It wasn't great, but despite my fear of needle, it had to be done. It turned out not to be so bad, in fact by the end of the sequence (10 days) it was just a casual thing I did.

You'll get there in no time!

In other news, chilly morning and I'm enjoying my mug of dark roast coffee with cream. Happy fall day to all!

Hugs,

TA

I used to have a huge issue with needles. What gradually helped me was making a conscious effort to think of it like getting a piercing (which I hadn't gotten at that point). Ironically, when I did eventually get my ears pierced, I ended up describing it like "Oh, it just felt like getting an ordinary shot." :)

I'm sure it'll become second nature for you in no time.

I dunno, I heard this said before, and yet over a year in and I still cannot think pleasantly or even casually about injection day ?

however, this is another ymmv situation, so good luck ?

My size. A lot of guys aren't 5'3" at seventeen. My hands. It's a less noticeable one, but my hands are very "feminine"? If you know what I mean. My voice. Very high-pitched. I don't just sound like a female, I sound like a little girl sometimes My chest. I've had to stop binding due to frequent aches doing so, and it's not nearly small enough to just cover with baggy clothes My family. They still call me she/her, so that's an automatic out. My anxiety. I might be able to pass better if I had the courage to correct people. Instead, I'm too scared to speak up, so I find it hard. My lack of men's clothes.   Anyone else have these problems, or other ones?

From what I have read and heard most people are so.busy with their everyday lives and either looking at their phones or in a hurry to notice you out and about.

This exactly ^^^   I actually really liked games where I was required to play a male character. It felt homey, in a way.

Yes, our little town is having its 3rd annual Pridefest. I've volunteered the first two years  from setup to tear down (though I do take an hour off to eat and drink in the middle).     Then I attend a bigger one a couple towns over that has had some decent entertainment from some semi-famous folks (Laura Benanti, Patrick Wilson, Carmen Carrera, Judy Gold, etc).    This year I made sure to ask off of (weekend) shifts to attend a 3rd one where a group I'm in is in the parade.

Hi Vicky, I agree with you, so far since the time I've been under the new treating doctor's care, she prescribed me medication, but it's for children lol  luckily  my pharmacy warned me from a phone call not to take the medication.

Things hit the fan today. I was reminded that "this is not a gender fluid establishment."   I had changed my preferred name and gender at the hospital on their app. My x-ray report came in with my preferred name and gender. It was not appreciated by the centre. 😬

I'm not a nutritionist but I've gone on bulking diets in the past so I can suggest a couple things to try. Foremost, food-prep stuff that you like to eat. Any 'real food' that usually sounds good to you. That way, you don't have the time-sink or hassle of cooking for every meal. You're more likely to eat if stuff if it's convenient and mostly ready. For example, I'll spend an hour or so one evening prepping burrito ingredients that will last me the next 3 nights. Then it's just a matter of microwaving the beef/beans and throwing them into a tortilla; takes 5 min.   If you need food 'on the go' often, consider prepping smoothies in advance pre-separated out into individual containers. I personally like low-no fat yogurt blended with fruit and, here's the weird part, those water flavor drops. They add sweetness without dumping in excess sugar. Insulated containers will keep them reasonably fresh non-refridgerated all day so they can even be tossed into a backpack.    Hope of those sparked some ideas!

I did get a sorry from the mechanic, saying it was all on him. The boss just said I just went by what I was shown. I didn't look at the paper work. I thought maybe you should before jumping down someones throat.   I am still in the market. Just waiting to find the right one.   Hugs, Kymmie
