That's fantastic news @Davie !! I'm actually finding Atlanta season 3 to be outstanding. Haven't finished it yet, but I find some of the themes to be refreshingly challenging to established norms, and I'm impressed by the conciseness, cleverness, and effectiveness of the writing. Also, some gorgeous aesthetics.

Just thought I'd randomly toss this out there, but I don't suppose anyone's planning to be out around either Fremont, IL or Perrysburg/Toledo, OH (or Fremont, OH, for that matter) this coming weekend, on either Saturday or Sunday? I'll be passing through both those days to visit my cousin in Kalamazoo, MI.

Ugh, I meant "Fremont, IN", not "Fremont, IL"!

Okay, so far.  Baked bread and drank coffee.  And it hasn't gotten hot yet.

Unfortunately I need to take my car in for some repairs in awhile.

Good morning, storms expected today at some point

@Heather Nicole as you drive past Fremont OHIO give it a wave for me.  That’s my home town, born and raised there.  Last time I visited was 9 years ago.  Said goodbye to my grandfather, parents and sister.  All are buried there.  When I left, I had no intention of returning.  Fremont is a great place to be FROM.  The home of President Hayes and the worlds largest Heinz ketchup factory among other things.

You wouldn’t be going to Cedar Point would you?

Wife and I both had our last for now therapy appointments.  When she came home she was in a good mood smiling etc.  I figured things went well.  Later she we were at the pool and she said except for housekeeping this feels like being on a permanent vacation.  That was the point and we both feel that way.  For me I was also happy.  It was pre planned it would be my last appointment unless something set me back.

I made the coffee today.  Starring dark roast from Seattle.  I got it just right.  Lots to do today.  Drug store, new broker, same firm, get more things off our boat and out of storage. Lots going on

l hope everyone has a great weekend.

Hugs

OK it's friday. And I'm nervous about tomorrow. Scared. The Big Trans picnic happens. Many trans folks I've grown to love online I'll see live for the first time. In person. I don't know what to wear. They tolerate me pretty well on screen, but in person I'll be the really old guy who won't shut up. They'll have to ask me to leave with looks of disgust and nausea. I'll have to change back into a cis male again and take my cheating ex back home. From there I'll join the French Foreign Legion and die defending colonialism and racism in a desert. Flies will buzz over my forgotten bones.

Or maybe it'll be a nice sweet picnic—not sure which.

Tragically, I love on the other side of the state.

Enjoy your trip though!

Right. Worst-case scenario would be to not show up at all based on fantasy-based self hatred. Better the Foreign Legion thing than nothing at all.

Well, I knew it was too good to be true. Looks like we may not be moving. The appraisal came in at $300 when we wanted to roll the closing in so we are looking for $310. I may have to bite the bullet and sell the bike. It will kill me to do it.

Well I snooped on my wife's phone. I now know where I stand with our oldest. I saw a text from him. "Hi, Mom. How are you doing. I love you" I have never gotten any texts like that from him. Oh, Well. I guess life will go on.  Another thing yesterday I was doing my normal morning stuff. When my youngest comes in. It seems like my wife's car has a flat he wants the jack stand out of the wagon. I guess that my wife doesn't think I would take care of it for her.  Again life goes on.

I wonder if she is at it again. I am working on doing a Holley Sniper fuel injection system on my wagon. I have finally picked up all the parts. But now I am missing my fuel pump, fuel filters, and a spool of 20ft of 3/8in fuel hose.  Nobody has seen it. I have checked everywhere but my wife's trunk. No sign.

hope everyone has a good day.

I'll try.

There seem to be a lot of Fremonts! And yea, unfortunately, Illinois isn't quite on the way from OH to MI. At least not the main part of MI anyway (Is that what they call it? The part that isn't Northern Michigan?) I'll just be clipping through a tiny corner of Indiana. (My gradeschool teachers would be so disappointed I still get IN and IL mixed up...Indiana's a neighbor, you'd think I could at least get that one right! 😜)

I have an aunt and uncle out near Pontiac. Unfortunately that won't be in the cards on this trip though, it's just a little more out of of the way than I'm going to have time for. ☹️

Yes, Fremont's nice! It's been close to 20 years for me, but I used to pass through all the time back when I went to BGSU. Coming from Cleveland, it was shorter and quicker to get off the turnpike at Fremont and take the back roads to I-75 than to go all the way to Toledo and have to drop back down south again.

Not this time 😭  Been awhile since I've been there. I'll be passing just south of it on the turnpike.

A Falcon?  My sister was a Falcon.  I’m a Rocket!  Sworn enemies.  LOL. Yes dropping off the turnpike and bypass Fremont then route 6 to Bowling Green is certainly the shortest way from Cleveland area.

Really? Wow, what I find even funnier about this is that UT was one of the schools my sister was considering back when she was looking into colleges! I remember being with her when she toured it, it's a nice campus!

Good Saturday morning.

@Heather Nicole the old portion of the campus is beautiful.  Then they tried to make it more modern. Since around 1967 they went to construction to match the University Hall.  Since UT started out as a City College they didn’t have the financial constraints that BG had when it came to architecture.  Many of the buildings, even the newer one received large donations from the Glass, automotive and other large companies in Toledo.   I’m class of 74.  It’s at least 3 times that now.

Well another potentially stormy day.  Safelight is supposed to replace our Jeep windshield this afternoon but they can’t do it if it’s raining.

we got a lot of our things off our boat yesterday.  I’m putting up a fan on the porch. And I need to get some more boxes out of storage before the rains come.

Well the dog is asking to go out and my wife needs some attention today.

Good morning. I'm already on my second cup of coffee.

Trying to figure out what all I need to do today. I definitely need to get my nails done. They're way to long and everyday tasks are a real struggle. I just don't know some women do it with super long nails. My riding mower has a dead battery. I had it out at one point and could hear the acid sloshing around when I shook it, sounded half full. I could just refill it and it might come back but it's 6-7 years old and I just don't want to worry about it.

My plans for selling my house and moving have been put on indefinite hold. There's been a lot of craziness going on in other parts on my life and I feel it's best to remain as stable and predictable as possible until the dust settles.

But, priorities, I need to get my day started. I'm going to get cleaned up and go out for breakfast.

❤️Have a great day everyone.

I walked in my first ever Pride parade today, at Annapolis Royal.  For a tiny little village (pop. 500), it was well attended, both in the parade and watching from the sidewalks.  It was a perfect day for it, sunny, not too warm, with a light breeze off the water.  That's me in the mask in the first photo.

My bigender friend Michelle was also in it (at right in 2nd photo), representing the Canadian Armed Forces' inclusivity program.

We’ll, I got as far as breakfast until I got word from from my friend. She’s super excited and wanted to let me know she’s going to be wear a pantsuit for our date tomorrow. Last I heard she was also painting her nails so she could look her best for me. I can only imagine how cute she’ll look.

It brought up an issue for me. I have a lot of cute outfits but nothing that I feel will compliment what she’s wearing. So I’ve been in a bit of a panic for the last few hours trying to find a relatively classy dress. Unfortunately with such a short notice I’ve had no luck. However, I did find a black rhinestone belt to match my boots and hair band so it wasn’t a complete loss.

Now I’m just waiting to get my nails done.

Well yesterday wound up being alright. Aside from the Ticketmaster app being a huge PITA.  The concert was great. Loverboy, Reo Speedwagon and Styx. I heard songs that I thought I would never hear live.

I think I have read everything the Southern Baptists have to say on transgender, and it helped convince me they are dead wrong on these issues.  They can be nice people.  I would never join an SBC church.
    • Abigail Genevieve
You come across as a thoughtful, sweet, interesting and pleasant person.    There are parts of this country, and more so the world, where evangelicals experience a great deal of finger wagging.
    • awkward-yet-sweet
It has been an interesting experience being in a marriage in a Christian faith community, yet being intersex/trans.  I stay pretty quiet, and most have kind of accepted that I'm just the strange, harmless exception.  "Oh, that's just Jen.  Jen is...different."  I define success as being a person most folks just overlook.
    • awkward-yet-sweet
Well, I live in an area with a lot of Southern Baptists, Evangelicals, etc...  We've experienced our share of finger-wagging, as the "standard interpretation" of Scripture in the USA is that the Bible only approves of "one man, one woman" marriage.  My faith community is mostly accepted here, but that has taken time and effort.  It can be tough at times to continue to engage with culture and the broader population, and avoid the temptation to huddle up behind walls like a cult.    Tolerance only goes so far.  At one point, my husband was asked to run for sheriff.  He declined, partly because an elected official with four wives would have a REALLY tough time.  (Of course, making way less than his current salary wasn't an option either).
    • Abigail Genevieve
My bone structure is far more female than male.  I can't throw like a guy, which has been observed by guys numerous times, and moving like a woman is more natural.  It just is.  I'm not going out of my way to act in a fem. way, as you say, but I am letting go of some of the 'I am not going to move like that because I am a guy' stuff I have defensively developed.  The other breaks through anyway - there were numerous looks from people at work when I would use gestures that are forbidden to men, or say something spontaneously no guy would ever say.   At one point, maybe a year or more ago, I said it was unfair for people to think they were dealing with a man when they were actually dealing with a woman.    Girl here.  'What is a woman' is a topic for another day.

Mom, I’m home!  What’s for lunch?   Leftover pizza .   ok.    Not exactly our conversation but there is truth in the answer.     @KymmieLsorry you are sick. Feel better soon.   Girl mode, boy mode no mode, not us. Nothing functional for either of us.   anyone here have or had a 10 year old (plus or minus) Caddy, Lincoln or Chrysler?  How was it?  Lots of repairs?  Comfortable seats? Anything positive or negative about it?  I need to replace my 2004 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer, it’s eating $100 dollar bills and needs a couple of thousand dollars worth of work and that doesn’t even fix the check engine code.  Obviously, it isn’t worth putting that kind of money into a 20 year old car with a 174 thousand miles.   Willow

I think you mean the worst possible interpretation of 2025 situation.  Keep in mind that there are those who will distort and downright lie about anything coming from conservatives - I have seen it time and time again.  It's one of the reasons I want to read the thing slowly and carefully.  They want you to be very, very afraid.
    • Abigail Genevieve
Here is where the expectation is that the stereotypical evangelical comes in finger wagging, disapproving and condemning.    Not gonna do that.   You have to work these things out.  Transgender issues put a whole different spin on everything and God understands what we are going through. I have enough trouble over here.  :)
    • Ivy
You do you. You seem to be in a safe place if we end up with a 2025 situation.  But a lot of us are not.
    • awkward-yet-sweet
Well, my marriage is different.  I'm actually part of a multi-partner marriage.  Like you see in the Book of Genesis.  My husband has four wives...and me.  I was kind of an accident, as our community sets the "reasonable maximum" at four wives, but that's a long story.  Plural marriage is approved in my faith community, with the exception of spiritual leaders, as described in 1 Timothy 3.  We believe that anything that isn't specifically prohibited is permitted.    The purpose of marriage is for people to work together, demonstrate the love of God, and to have children.  My faith believes in exponential reproduction - big families with lots of kids, both as a blessing and with the intention of using the size of our population for political ends.  Being intersex/trans and unable to bear children, I wouldn't have been a good candidate to be somebody's only spouse (the majority of our community tends toward traditional couple marriage).  Since my husband has other partners, I don't have to worry about the childbearing aspect, and I help out with raising our family's kids.  I'm a "bonus parent."    I'm not 100% open about my intersex/trans nature, although my community's leaders are aware of me.  Being transgender isn't condemned, but it is seen as a health problem derived from an imperfect, fallen world and an environment polluted with chemicals.  Since I'm married, I have a safe place to be, and I can live how I need to live.    I firmly believe the advice given in 1 Corinthians 7.  We don't totally own our bodies.  God gets a say, as I believe He created us to be male or female, not something outside the binary.  I don't think that transition without discussion with partners is OK....again, we don't totally own ourselves.  When I started to figure myself out, that was actually the main thing on my mind - will my partners accept me?  How will my position in the family change?  Since my partners don't really have a problem with the mild version of transition that I wanted to do, it has all been good.
    • awkward-yet-sweet
Indeed.  While it seems like the majority of LGBTQ+ folks vote for Democrat candidates, not everybody drinks the Kool-Aid.  I'm a registered Independent, since I vote for individuals rather than party.  One of my trans friends is very pro-Trump - wears her MAGA hat and everything.  I find it interesting to see the reactions she gets... folks aren't always as tolerant as they claim to be.  Even on this forum, you get some real flak from Democrat voters....many will insist that the California way is the only way.    In my opinion, "Project 2025" isn't the real problem.  Check out UN "Agenda 2030."
    • awkward-yet-sweet
While Biden may be more friendly to trans folks, I'm not a single-issue voter.  I just can't choose a Democrat candidate, as I believe their actions will destroy my community and way of life.  Biden just announced that he wants to significantly increase capital gains taxes.  Maybe he intends to "tax the rich" but that is going to affect everything from land sales to grocery prices to the cost of electricity and even folks' retirement savings, as most companies make a large amount of their profits through investing in the market.  It is absolute lunacy to think that increased cost or reduced profits won't be passed on to the rest of us.  Things are going to get way worse at this rate.    Mostly, I vote in elections for state and local issues, as the national government is about as pleasant as a Porta-Potty in July.  So, either I'll do a write-in vote for president, or I'll check the box for Trump.  Anything but Biden.
    • awkward-yet-sweet
Interesting...never knew any of this.  Of course, in my girl form I never got breasts, so I never had to worry about it.  A couple of pieces of tape would have been sufficient...      Sounds like fun   It has been interesting for me since I stopped trying to do sex like a girl.  The real surprise was my relationship with my husband, as he has figured me out pretty well.
