I have known my wife since I was 5.

Good morning everyone,

@KymmieL I can start my conversation about my wife and I with the age of meeting. We were backyard neighbors, went to the same church, school, and on occasion our families vacationed together. We didn't start dating until her Junior year of high school, and we've be together every since. We married on June 26, 1976, a few months after I graduated high school. Now I would never advise anyone to follow that same time line, however five couples from our circle of friends in high school are still married. I always say the key to our marriage was not having kids for the first three years. We partied, chased adventures, and then settled down before making a commitment to kids.

We still drink our morning coffee together. I'm usually finishing off a pot, by time she's brewing her first cup. But we sit and have conversations about our daily plans.

Well, I have to hit the road picking up parts for vendors.

Have a great day everyone,

Good morning

so I slept in this morning, what’ ca gonna do about it?  Rainy days and Mondays they always get you down.  She went to bed and she bumped her head and she couldn’t get up in the morning.  I think I have more, but that’s enough.  You get the drift.  lol

Yes, it’s quite rainy and windy today.  But nothing compared to the tornadoes that keep hitting the south and mid-west.  The eastern arm is coming right up the east coast today and is here now.

there are some really wonderful posts about how long you’ve known your wife and are still together through thick and thin.

Well, I can’t just sit here all day in my pjs, my wife has two doctors appointments this afternoon.  So I suppose…… I should get dressed.  My hair will never stand up to this wind.  I’ll be restyling it several times today. Honestly, I think I used too much hairspray on it the.last couple days trying to keep it out of my eyes at work.  I like the longer styles, but they do have their own issues I’m just not able to get right.

I need some new hair myself.  And I would like it longer.  I miss my hippie days when I had braids.

But new hair isn't cheap, so I might have to wait a bit.

That's great Ashley!

I also have a new to me laptop and it's frustrating to figure out where things are, and why they changed to icons and locations of useful tabs. I'm an old curmudgeon when it comes to updating digital equipment. Why couldn't the just left things alone.

Have fun with the new laptop,

Thank you. I'm already planning on updating it to 4 TB and 16 GB RAM. It runs ok but I would prefer faster and more memory. I want to be able to put all my music on here. Problem I ran into I lost all my pictures!

Just updating the OS can be traumatic.

Well, next week when I am involuntarily off of work. I am searching for better employment. My boss put me down once again. Comparing me to a co worker. "Oh, she was such a good worker she got a raise in the second week." I am so getting tired of this crud. I was so upset that I actually left a message with my therapist, to have her call. I had relaxed by the time she did. But it was good to hear someone who cares.

Yikes I'm sorry. Hopefully something will better come up for you!

Well it's official I have borderline personality disorder and the other results were dead on accurate with my other disorders. Time to get ready to go through the treatment of it. I was told it won't get rid of everything my moods are still going to be the same but time to learn how to control them. Looking forward to it.

This is so unprofessional. I'm sorry you're being pressured by your employer, and like you I would be looking for somewhere else to work.

@Ashley0616I hope your therapist are able to work with you and any coping mechanisms they suggest work for you.

I feel you @Ivy

@Mmindy I get my hair from Paula Young.  I haven’t been disappointed.  The prices are more reasonable, than wig shops.  They have many different styles and colors of hair.  From synthetic to human.

It has been a couple of days.  Between the kids and my work, I just haven't been online much.  Almost Friday, but it doesn't feel like it somehow.  And I managed to get a spring cold...but Vitamin D has mostly kept it mild.

I got a surprise yesterday, though.  My husband has been saying I look really skinny.  He actually picked me up and put me on the scale today (something I avoid) and I'm 97 pounds.  -_-  I think I should be about 115, although I've been 105 for the last year or more.  I have a high metabolism and I thought that I usually eat enough...but I often just nibble on nuts and berries and a few leafy things, and at meals I think  I spend more time paying attention to the kids and conversing than I actually do eating.  I do eat pizza each week with my friends, so I would have thought I'd have plenty of calories from that?

Anyways, I'm supposed to gradually gain 15 to 18 pounds.  IDK how I'm going to do that???  He put this big piece of meat on my plate tonight, and I just stared at it like...what can I do with all that?  I did get a victory, though... I told him if he's going to make me eat, he has to keep me in his lap, and we can share a plate.  :friends: So that's where I'm going to stay at meal time now.  I think I eat more like that...I ate a bigger dinner tonight than I have in weeks.  I guess this is just more proof that I would do really badly if I had to live on my own.

I'm back...now I just need to try to catch up on everything that's going on!! Is there a Cliff Note's available? :-)

My wife and I spent that last week in Texas touring around and watching the eclipse. Terrible travel day yesterday with delayed flights. Finally got home at 5AM this morning.

So, I grabbed a cup of coffee and just started the new day!

Hope everyone is well.

Good Friday morning.

i have a later shift today, noon to 8pm. Boy I haven’t worked that late since I don’t remember.  I work late tomorrow as well, 2 to 7:30. I’m off Sunday and Monday.

My wife’s doctors appointments went well yesterday.  The surgeon was pleased with her progress.  Wants to see her again in June.  PCP was also happy about her progress.

i see my foot orthopedic surgeon on Monday to get a definitive diagnosis on my heel and a treatment plan.

I discovered I had received a small pay raise when I checked my pay yesterday.  Every little bit helps. Looking forward to the $3 an hour summer bonus starting late next month.  Wow, next month I can’t be leave it’s almost summer.  It sneaks up so fast some years.  But that also means hurricane season for us and tornados for the middle of the country. Weather persons say this will be a bad hurricane year for the Atlantic because of the pacific weather is changing and our water is warmer than normal .

coffee is.just how we like it dark and black.

Good morning, everyone. Still fighting the massive head cold I managed to get while on our eclipse tour. It's been a rough month going from a light cold to the stomach virus to this head cold. Ugh. I just want to feel healthy for more than a few days!!

I think I'm turning the corner, though. Have been drinking a lot of fluids, especially water with cranberry juice mixed in (my Go To drink). And, of course, coffee. Two cups down this morning and about to grab the third when I finish this.

Enjoy the day!! And find the goodness in it...even if it's just being able to blow your nose and clear out your head. :-)

Up again taking care of the dogs, other than when out of the house. My wife took care of the dogs once. Today I'm just going to be up a little bit then back to bed. This girl is tired. Originally got up to use the potty. I notice our doxie isn't in our room. I go to let him out so I won't get any surprises, too late. He peed in the house.  He comes back in expecting breakfast. The puppy goes out and I feed the hounds.

And here I am.

Yesterday, the wife was in one of her moods. I decided to do the same. Waiting for her to ask "what's wrong?" but never did. I was going to give her the answer I always get from her. Nothing or I'm fine. See how she fells.

Well good news the female that I have been talking to is Facebook friends with me. I feel ecstatic. Everyone else that I have tried to talk to gave up during initial talking on Facebook dating but she knows my mental health isn't good and she said hers isn't good either so I hope that her and I can help push through our difficult times. I can't wait to meet her in person. Most of y'all probably don't understand how I'm so happy to finally get to even this point. I have always been lonely and wanted someone even as a friend IRL. She lives close by too so that makes it even better.

Good morning coffee lovers

boy did I sleep in late today.  Didn’t get up until after 10.  But in my defense well sorta, I worked until 8 last night and stayed up until 11.  I almost never do that anymore.  And today I only work 5 hours starting at 2pm so good to sleep.

today is a pod day, no pots were made and no beans were crushed and ground.

@Ashley0616 that’s really great that you have a friend you can talk to openly and one on one.  I had a friend that was like that for me and we would get together occasionally.  Unfortunately, when she completed her surgeries and I told her where I planned to stop we drifted apart.  Funny thing is I am closer to her wife now than her. We are all about a year apart in age and we’ve both been married over 50 years.  Lots of similarities.  I hope you can meet and talk.  We all need that person in our life.

@Mirrabooka I really hate going through the transition from standard time to daylight and back again and its usefulness is nil these days just do away with it already.

we are supposed to be in for some great weather this week.  Mostly sunny and definitely warm if not hot.  Highs in the 80s. (Sorry Kymmie).   But it will turn cooler with rain soon enough.  We have to have those April showers to bring on the May flowers.

I got good news but not so good, we will be getting a summertime bonus, but only $2 this year.  Still, it all helps.  The only reason I do this is to get money to make life easier as I get older.

I suppose I need to get ready to meet the rest of the day.

enjoy your Saturday, it’s my Friday. (Sunday and Monday off)

Good morning everyone,

I’m in rural Missouri south of St. Louis, MO and girl… I’m turning heads in this roadside restaurant eating breakfast. You would think I’m the first androgynous person they’ve ever seen, or we could just be the strangers in town who were brave enough to stop and eat. My wife and I are the only ones here without a beard.

For now I have to say the coffee is excellent and the mug size is generous. The server is polite and uses sweetie and honey when she addresses everyone. We don’t have to be at our family function until 3:00pm so after breakfast we’re checking out a cool state park just a little bit further South.

Hugs from the middle of TRUMP land.

I guess this was commonplace in females. But if your prostate gland is still in place this can contribute to urinal difficulties too.

https://www.hrw.org/news/2024/05/15/peru-chooses-bigotry-medical-services     The Health Ministry tried to put the best face on this unscientific gibberish of a decree, but it won't diminish the harm it will do to the Pervian trans community.  They undoubtedly already suffer from severe discrimination and bigotry in a very macho-opriented society.   Carolyn Marie

I'd never heard of it until reading this.  From the thread title I thought it had something to do with the state of Idaho.  But perhaps combined with something about Hobbits, which seemed odd.  My brain goes in weird directions.
    • VickySGV
I had my surgery 11 years ago, and yes, I too find it much more of an urgent thing than it ever was before.  One possible culprit is going to be T blockers if you are still on them, also the urethral sphincter which holds the pee back is closer to the urethral opening now and more subject to stimulation. When we gotta go we gotta goooooo!!
    • VickySGV
I notice that the Wikipedia article does not mention the U.S.A. which I can understand a bit.  The entire month of June here is Pride Month for all the organizations and is tied to the 1969 Stonewall Inn riots in New York and also our medical authorities are also not tied as thoroughly to the WHO as they are to the American Psychological and American Psychiatric Associations which write the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Health which is generally in line with the WHO which does not play as big a part in our medical practices here.  The WHO does not impact us the way it does the other world countries which is why we are in the dark about the day.  Ironically though, one of the U.S. States is named Idaho which sadly is one of the most conservative and frustrating to the U.S. LGBTQ Community.   The day is international though in the sense of other European and Southern Hemisphere countries it seems.
    • Mirrabooka
Hmm. Must have been that pesky 'International' word which made me assume that it was well known! I only became aware of it myself last year.   Brief history: May 17th is the day IDAHOBIT is acknowledged as it is the anniversary of when in 1990 the World Health Organization declassified homosexuality as a mental disorder. It was conceived in 2004 and first celebrated in 2005. It has gone on to include trans folk in 2009 and bi folk in 2015.   International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia - Wikipedia

A year and a half post op. I've noticed that once the urge to pee hits, I can only hold it for about 15 minutes or so until it gets to the point where I feel like I'm going to piss myself. I used to be able to hold it a lot longer (as I  remember it).  I know my urethra is a bit shorter now, but I don't think it is enough to account for this. Am I imagining it?

It's also networking.  Sometimes jobs come along because someone knows someone else - these older people might know someone.  "Hey, Ashley," someone might say,"My nephew is looking for love. He likes tall women. Whatcha think? Can he call you?"   Don't discount their ability to match make.  It is about networking.

He is simply doing to get more votes. He held a Trump for trans during his first run and found out the majority of his voters were against us so he simply followed the crowd.

The sad part is I'm the third oldest member. One is in their 60's and the other is past 70's. I'm even older than the president lol. It's a younger crowd that's for sure. I like to come here to feel young again lol.
    • Sally Stone
Ashley, I think searching for relationships are a lot like searching for jobs, they tend to come along when you aren't actually looking.  Perhaps you could step back from actively searching, at least for a little while, and instead, concentrate on just being out and about as yourself.  Like Mae and Abby have already mentioned, just keep up your volunteering, but don't focus on a need to find someone.  Maybe, just maybe, changing your tactics will result in someone finding you.    I do wish only the best for you, and I hope someone comes along who connects with you.
