I can say what I *will* be wearing.....

A belly button bar. I’m getting it pierced. Again. I had it done a few years ago but let it grow over.

Question is ....... plain bar or one with a jewel in?

Solution: get one of each and swap when wanted..... ?

I hope I am doing this right. This is what I wore at my therapist's773677184_20210513_100700243435.thumb.jpg.6a71c8f878b53efedba46384a8fe13c0.jpg office

In comparison, I often tend to wear similar except for the skirt. It would be a bit too provocative locally and stand out. I generally wear a short black tube skirt or longline vest under my top (effectively giving a skirt) for modesty. I do wear a top like you have often in the summer although more in the form of a longer tunic or dress, That said I generally present a more androgyne rather than girly look when I am walking locally or in the fields. Another point I would make, from experience, is that white is not a good colour for a dress or skirt. If you sit on a dirty seat, for instance, you will be showing it all day.

@PixieOfTheHillsI vote plain belly bar.

Swap in the jewel for occasions worthy of switching.

Yep. That makes sense. Good excuse to buy two , also!! ?

Something else that might help. There's company called unclockable that make tuck kits. They're supposed to be water proof and hide everything. I bought a couple kits a moth or two ago. I can at least say it worked good with leggings.

That's interesting, I'll check them out. I saw a video of a trans girl explaining her method and it involved extreme taping (4 pieces of tape), plus underwear 1 or 2 sizes smaller, all under the bathing suit. She claimed to use it in the pool and at the beach. It must take some rehearsing before getting it right AND being comfortable enough to move in the water.

I finally got my pants back from the tailor. I think this outfit would’ve worked better with a spiked choker but work said not. Really, that’s where they’re gonna draw the line. Oh, and I really need my hair color fixed. I’m thinking turquoise next time.

@MaddeeSorry. I failed. I ended up getting two bars, one silver and one gold, both with two jewels. One jewel Just looked kinda unpretty. Anyway, I love what I got. I feel more me. ?

@Elizabeth Star that is an amazing outfit...you look terrific!  Even without the spike collar.

@Niamh l really like your raincoat.

@Teri Anne was in my dream for some reason.  She's even prettier in person.

@Bri2020great selfie by the pool...it tells the whole story (except the part about showing through).

@Linda Marie I bet your closet is something to behold...love your style.

My car cranked this morning, so I made it to the store.

I might swap out for something cooler when it warms up this afternoon.

Carmen Liu Lingere also has tucking tape that IIRC is also supposed to work in the water. Not sure, but I think carmen liu's might be more economical, althouh it ships from england, so if you're in the US, it might take awhile.

All dressed up and nowhere to go tonight. The zoom call I was supposed to be on was cancelled, but I didn't get the message. I'm not too sad though - I got to dress in this gorgeous 50s style dress. I'll be going to a retro festival in my home town in August and just love 50s styling. Just ordered some lined stockings to go with the dress I'll wear - which will be a different one.

Really pretty dress.

I wish I could wear something like that.

I have a tentative hair appointment booked for June 1st regarding hair colour. I was thinking blue-black at the time, but I've since been considering less "natural" hair colours. Something to do with being denied doing such things when younger and still presenting as a boy. ?

That's what matters, right? No need to apologize, just do you.

I did the wild hair color when I first went 24/7 back in 2008.

Not sure why I did it and wasn't happy with it after a few weeks.

I guess it was the freedom of finally being out and I was trying to make a statement.

What that statement was I have no clue.LOL

Be free and do what makes you happy.

This is what I wore at my therapist yesterday. I went out to Aldis dressed in this outfit. This was the first time out dressed in women's cloths. I was scared but anxious at the same time. I said hi to a couple of people and the store cashier with no  "scary" outcomes. I figured if I wore a short skirt, no one would look at my 20210520_140226.thumb.jpg.3249d346089d00b7b313c90a28f6400c.jpgs face.

Unfortunately Oklahoma is about as bad as Texas but definitely not as bad as Florida. Especially as a minor!

I'm sorry @Ladypcnj I can only sympathize with you on that. Therapist on the other hand is crazy. I have had 16 in 10 years. It sucks having to have to go over things. I will say though after 6 therapists I didn't have to explain my history they simply read the history.

I followed you and will give you my advice when I can. It has happened to me a lot too. If you want to you can always message me and I'll get back to you ASAP. I understand your concerns.

I don't use it.   One of my daughters gave me a little to experiment with, but I haven't.  My youngest tried to put some on me once, but I din't like it.  The light was pretty bad admittedly. My ex didn't use it, and my daughters didn't use it much either when they were still at home.  (If so it was very subtle) And I don't often notice it on women my age (mid 70's)   I shave every day.  But my beard is not heavy, and essentially grey, so it's not real noticeable unless you get close with good light.  I was starting to look into electrolysis, but the pandemic hit, and I just kinda dropped it.   Sometimes I do wonder about it though.

It's something I'm just learning but I find I actually enjoy the 'craft' of it in addition to how it makes me look. Even after a fresh shave, I have a mild 5'clock shadow. For me, the primary use of makeup is to get rid of that. I'll start with the orange concealer over facial hair areas and a bit under my eyes. Liquid foundation over that and light concealer used judiciously over that (still dialing that part in). Then just a tad of powder to bring color back in certain places. There are a number of Youtube tutorials on that layering process.    I'll also pencil in my eyebrows a bit since they're blonde and otherwise not very visible. Sometimes I'll get adventurous and give mascara a try but that's a delicate skill and usually I mess it up. I don't particularly like lipstick, but just ordered a 'lip pencil' to experiment with. Hoping for a more subtle effect.

Sunday is my weekly ablution day - all of the parts that need occasional shaving get their required attention. The weather is rainy and cool today so after the ablutions and shower, I put on blue jeans, a gray t-shirt and a black front-zip hoodie along with gray sneakers.   And, I did put on make-up, not to impress anyone but just to feel as if I'm looking my best....as good as that can be given this woman is now 69 years old.

There are lots of us here willing to offer support, ideas, a shoulder or just a smile. Working with your therapist and finding your true self can be difficult process...but it will also be filled with wonder and joy as you discover that person who's been waiting inside you to be found.   Just know that you are not alone.

Thank you KayC!  I am just trying to keep breathing. I don't have a huge amount of time in my life for self exploration.  My job and responsibilities have me second guessing all my inner work.  I do have time off in the summer - coming up soon as I am a teacher.  Only a few workshops.  Looking forward ward to some introspection.     :) Mealaini

Yes, essentially. As Julia Serano says, they view trans outcomes as intrinsically worse than cis outcomes.

I used to but now its just lip gloss every now and then, in a subdued tone.
