Geddy Lee - My Favorite Headache

A solo effort by Rush's Bass player and vocalist.   A nice counterpoint to Rush.

Its no secret im a big VNV Nation fan.

This song is no exception.. Beloved

Lyrics: Are about losing someone very close to you.

The beat may be a little fast for some . It always makes me think of those people who i have known and are no longer on this astral plain.  I do think of the good times and try to leave the bad to history.

This morning it's Led Zeppelin "whole lotta love" live recorded in Madison Square Garden 1973 (released in 76) on the "The song remains the same" movie release. It's sooo heavy

"Has anybody seen the bridge ?"

I think Robert is still looking!

Talk about a genre shifting song from a band known for blues.  Those were the days.

This little number by Paul McCartney and Wings from 1971  sums up the moment. "It's just another day". Beautiful song....

Ghost of a chance - Rush (1991) "I believe there is a ghost of chance"  Spiritual, and poetic, Neil Peart lyrics, just so significant....

"Like a million little doorways
All the choices we made
All the stages we passed through
All the roles we played"

Digging up a classic from the LA Area 1971, I have this "45" in my collection, they were 79 cents back then....

Redeye - "Collections of yesterday and now", great vocals, love the arrangement, and guitar tracks, speaks to the era....I think they channeled Crosby, Stills, and Nash :)

The A side was  "Games", it's groovy, makes this girl swirl and twirl ;-) It was a different time....

I may be in the minority, but I love some good country music.

Currently listening to the the best: Eric Church, Some of It.

"Some of it you learn the hard way

Some of it you read on a page

Some of it comes from heartbreak

Most of it comes with age

And none of it ever comes easy

A bunch of it you maybe can't use

know I don't probably know what I think I do

But there's somethin' to

Some of it"

Holdin My Own, Eric Church

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nVc3tCw0fN0

"Always been a fighter, scrapper, and a clawer
Used up some luck in lawyers
Like Huck from Tom Sawyer jumped on my raft
And shoved off chasing my dreams
Reeling in big fishes
I had some hits, a few big misses
I gave 'em hell and got a few stitches
And these days, I show off my scars"

"And when my time on Earth is done
I want they write it on my stone
I lived, loved, and died holdin' my own"

I saw this concert in which it is said that the famous phrase of Jon Landau "I saw the future of rock and roll and his name is Bruce Springsteen" comes from that night. By the way Bruce opened for Bonnie Raitt that night and she was the better performer . . . just sayin'.

Astronomy and astrophotography.  I have done a few public presentations on the subject and could most likely wing it for an hour without putting you to sleep.   On the other hand if you need a sleeping pill, I could also talk for an hour about flying and you'd be out cold.

Please consider joining us, even if it's just for a few minutes to see what the meetings are like. I've learned so much, had so much fun and gained confidence in myself just by being a part of this amazing group of people. It's a low key, no pressure, non-judgmental chance to just be among people who are supportive, understanding and affirming of each other.    I'm travelling out of state and still planning on dropping in for awhile.    Come see what it's like!!

Thank you, Susan!! It was such an amazing experience for me. I can't remember if I even talked about it on a Zoom meeting.   Here is the link to the post I made about it. And, again, thank you for helping to give me the courage to do it.

Good morning coffees   This probably doesn’t exactly apply to me because you wouldn’t have found a more shy and conservative person than me.  I was perhaps less shy before my sister started complaining about me doing things that were hers to do. And I would become embarrassed and that was the end of that.   upstairs unit got their typical weekend visitors in the middle of the night last night.  They woke me up.  They have little consideration for being in a condo community and the neighbors being in such close proximity.   @awkward-yet-sweet , how goes the job with your husband’s boss?  I don’t recall you saying much about it this week, but I could have missed a post along the way.  If I recall you were supposed to meet with him last Monday.   @KymmieL I hope you are feeling better.     Yes, I find it to be wrong that just because a car part says Ford or Chevrolet on the box that same part with Lincoln or Cadillac on the box cost a lot.more.  I know there are differences in the upscale brands such as the engine and drivetrain in the Caddy and of course the interior fit and finish.  But it’s the same body with things crammed in the same way under the hood.     well, time to finish my coffee, fix my hair and made my way across the street to work.    willow

I read about her this morning. What a shame! She was beautiful and it seems she had a strong support system in place and could have had a wonderful life all to have it end like this. Such a waste. I truly hope the monster that killed her gets everything he deserves.
