Grieve the bad for a bit and then look for the good. I so believe the proverb that says what grows in your life is what you feed.

It isn't easy. And we do need to grieve sometimes but there is also much that is good. In time the darkness will give way to the light.

I just hope that backlash stings the hand holding the whip.
I've been lucky so far but then again i'm older, don't drink and pretty much stay on the farm.

What I find interesting, is that the same people pushing the argument that criminals might use the "transgender loophole" (their words not mine) to push these bathroom bills are the same ones that argue we shouldn't pass any form of gun control because as they explain it criminals don't obey laws anyway. Talk about being a hypocrite.....oh wait a minute, this is US politics as usual.

When I spend too much time on social media where the narrow minded and mean spirited specializing in spreading their toxins I start seeing the world as a very bad and scary place. Do bad things happen. Of course. But those hate filled transphobes are really just a very verbal minority who feel safe and powerful on the internet.

In 5 years I have not directly experienced an incident in real life. Even here where fundamentalist religion is the norm. And when I asked people to stop posting anti-Caitlyn stuff on Facebook they did. Every single peeson in my friend list which includes not only these ultra conservative locals butpeople from every walk of life-including an Evangelical revivalist preacher-from my Farmville days when I added people by the dozen to play the game better.

People cover the bathroom bills and such because they are news and there are bigots out there to introduce them. But they are not passing , and the public is not rising up against the shows that portray trans people in a positive way. We have to keep spreading accurate information and portrayals of trans people -people are listening. They are at least open to seeing it and that is a change over even a few years ago.

The saying about what is prominent in your life is what you feed is true. If we focus on the negative and our fear it will only grow. If we focus on the good and ways we can succeed and be empowered that will grow instead. But you can really only feed one over the other. You chose.

Could not have said it any better Johnny, you are so right and in this area we do get to choose !

Attitude is everything, and I tend to repeat this phrase over and over - You largely create your own reality.

I read today that after Iowa was over Cruz started saying pro LGBT stuff. His biggest financial supporter is a gay man. The co-founder of PayPal.

And Trump was also saying more pro LGBT. Enough the press was labeling it a "flip flop" on LGBT issues.

With Iowa so conservative there was a lot of stuff making it sound like the world was turning more conservative. Now with more liberal New Hampshire everything sounds more progressive and liberal.

Having lived through many decades I see it as getting better as far as human rights -especially among the younger generation now. Personal freedom is certainly far greater than ever before.

We are aware of so much negative and bad because we hear it in masses every day. In the past we heard more rounded news coming from within our own communities as much as anything. And people did not have the anonymity that they have online to spread harmful stuff. Much of which is not even true. If you aren't getting your news off social media then you are likely surrounded by people who are. It skews our perceptions.

It has always been a dirty mean hard world. Still is. As well as a beautiful world of wonders and amazing loving and self sacrificing people. But in my experience communication has not only exposed that negative side more but opened up and motivated understanding more as well. We are trying to make it a better and more equal world for everyone. And that in itself is a huge step forward.

Some won't like it. Want to feel superior to someone and want to judge. Now they have an easy way to do it without having to be accountable.. But that doesn't make what they say true or make them the majority. It just makes them vocal. And while some of the anti-LGBT laws may pass in a few places there are more going the opposite direction and courts increasingly supporting our human rights.

The past is past and not changeable. What is done, is done. Learn from it, and move on.

PS: C, that's business as usual. Sadly....

I had one of the best days yesterday~!

I got a morning text from my girlfriend wishing me a great day before work. At work, the lab aid said that the TAs this year are the best she's had in the 8 years she's been here. When I texted her thank you, she personally told me I was one of the exemplary TAs.

And on top of everything else, I made my first posts here at Laura's and was welcomed with open arms. I was so nervous and scared, but when I read everyone's comments and kind words I couldn't help but cry because I was so happy.

Thank you so much everyone~!

The ouchies do mean that life is stirring in the breasts Marcie.

I can cry at almost anything now if i chose to. Fortunately for my mascara and liner i usually smile instead. That doesn't mean i don't still feel the beauty contained in a song, a poem or a post by a brother or sister here.

Hugs and a smile,

Charlize

I finally told my parents on Thursday of last week. I was initially worried because my dad got all red in the face and left for a very long smoke break. My mom was shocked, but eventually started asking questions. My sister was a gem. She accepts any information presented to her the same way. With acceptance and curiosity. I am grateful she was there.

I hadn't heard from them in a while, so I was worried that my parents had it with me. Until yesterday when I got a text from my mom about gas prices. So at least I know that she's still ok with her daughter's choices even if she doesn't understand them.

I am glad you are finding some support from your family. In my experience time has allowed for the small amount of support i found at first to grow. Maybe it wasn't growth as much as acceptance. Often it seems we need to accept more than we need to understand and then life continues with a bit of peace. If i'm honest i can't say i truly understand the reality of my situation but i'm not fighting it any more.

Hugs,

Charlize

It is nice getting up in the morning, with the sun warmly peeking through the blinds to welcome me to the new day.

Good afternoon,    I have a young friend who is vegetarian and married to a full on meat eater. They have two areas of their grill clearly designated for their different cooking requirements. When she’s cooking she uses tongs or chopsticks to handle any meats. When he’s cooking he respects her request not to cook her meals on the side where meat has been. They get along fine and respect each other.    When she attends our house, she usually brings her own food, but knows I will clean my grill to meet her requirements. We love and respect her commitment to be vegetarian. I love that she trusts me to make her comfortable when visiting us. There are ways to make it work.    Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

I was going to call it Numbness, then I realised well.. it isn't. basically, yeah, it isn't.   this only happens to me sometimes. I'll be lying down and my legs will.. well, I guess lock?   If I straighten them out, they will unlock- when I roll over again, they will lock again. this lasts for around 10/ 15 minutes I guess   it's not pins and needles either

so, a close friend wants to cook for me   the issue is, she is a vegitarian and won't handle meat- I, on the other hand, won't handle vegetables- hate the things   every time she goes out to the shop, she comes back with something.. a cake, a fruit smoothie, a coffee, I won't eat any of it. please help me think of something that she could make for me that I'll actually eat   disclaimer: you are talking to the most pickiest eater in the world. good luck

I think there is some truth in this.  They intend to implement Project 2025, whether or not he spends his energies persecuting the Democrats who have been persecuting him (in his view, a debatable point) and does nothing else.   I have seen numerous accusations that the document is about "Trumpism", whatever that is, and is merely a vehicle for him to become dictator.  From what I have read so far, that is the same sort of truth as the Steele Dossier, denying the validity of a certain laptop, Schiff's non-existence evidence of collaboration and a host of other things, many directly from Biden, that are simply not true.   I will continue reading it.

      Who, precisely, are "they"?

Wife of mine pointed out that not getting a haircut for a month looks hideous - weird bald patches.  So back to super- short buzz cut.  This morning I braced, looking in the mirror.  I look like a woman trying to pass as a a guy, maybe  a small-breasted woman with enough T treatment to grow a mustache.    I would not believe me if I read what I write about me.  This is nuts.   White t-shirt: that they sell in the back of WM so you can tie-dye them or otherwise decorate them. They are thick and long lasting and slightly fitted, so that they could be a man's.  I like them.   Jeans, flip flops.   I will no longer point out these are women's.  What else would I wear?

That is all that is necessary. I did the same thing. I must have gotten something wrong.

Quite right mate! I have been letting my hair grow out again (I cut it all off when I was 18).    I'll never look this good:    But I'll aspire to look my best! ☺️
