I was just in their office and, out of five people, one had no mask at all and two more (one an employee) wasn't wearing theirs correctly. I let the chiropractor know and I'm giving them one more chance because I like them, but I'm high risk and cannot be around that kind of thing right now.

We have a fair amount of covidiots around here too (thank goodness they at least seem to be in the minority). Directly related to that, check out my latest bumper sticker:

Ugh. Venting. I hope everyone else is having a better day than I am.

Hugs!

I keep seeing this kind of thing each time I go to the store or a doctor's office. Thankfully I do not go out much. The current explosion of covid in the US is awful. One site referred to it as volcanic. ??

"Covidiots" What a great word LOL

Thankfully we don't have many of those here. We do have people who think this is not as huge a thing as they make it, but they are respectful of the norm and mindful of the harm they can cause others, so they wear masks and sanitise hands jsut as everybody does. Of course, congruent leadership and policies have helped, something you sadly didn't have.

Good morning. Coffee tastes better than usual.

Everything went good with my meds and learning how to do the injectable EV. It wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it could be. I was able to get in early so I got home in plenty of time to go look at more houses.

There are some seriously messed up homes out there BTW. By 1:30 we were at the second home. I fell in love. It has everything we want. I dragged my wife back at 4 to have her see it.  We put in an offer and by 10 o'clock it was accepted and we're officially under contract. We found our forever home!! The owner wants to move quickly so our closing is set for mid-December. So exciting, yet so much to do.

Good morning.  I trust everyone survived Friday the Thirteenth

@ElizabethStar Sounds like you had a good day.

Love the coinage of Covidiots.  That ought to be sent to the committee that rules on greatest new words of the year.

Like many of you we mostly stay home.  Do not at out in restaurants, but do get drive through take out now and then.

we were planning on going to our daughters house in December but with the uptick in Covid, we aren’t so sure.  It’s 9 hours of driving and we’d have to make stops.   My daughter is a nurse supervisor in a hospital with cases, our granddaughters have in person school twice per week, and the 16 year old works 2 jobs.  I know they are careful but you can still get it.

Bought a new bra yesterday.  You can’t try anything on in the stores so we brought it home.  Tried it here, nope, has to go back.  Too bad too.  It was an add a size and lacy. But the band was too small as were the shoulder straps.  Different brands clearly are different fits.

why a new bra, well things are starting to happen so my breast forms are too big.  But I’m not big enough to use nothing.  I’ll either have to find a similar bra that fits or go with inserts.

@ElizabethStar How big a difference a day can make right? From scared of needles and bored to looking at houses, to "it wasn't that bad" and actually on the process of owning your perfect house! Congrats!!

I LOVE this stories, how things can change in the blink of an eye if we keep walking through the fogg.

Last of the pot of morning coffee. Was great while it lasted.

Glad to see everyone survived Friday the 13th of 2020 and some even prospered during their lucky day. :)

@WillowI love that antique knife and scabbard of yours. Has survived the years well.

@ElizabethStar Glad to hear how well your day went and the exposure to needles and overcoming your fear. Well played my dear. Congrats to your journey to getting you "forever" home. :)

I agree with you this should make the word of the year. No questions asked. LOL.

What is with people acting this way and love to play "Russian Roulette" with peoples lives? No masks. No physical distancing. No hand washing. No consideration of themselves or others.

Sorry for the rant but I am paranoid of this Covis19 and dont wander far outside of my little bubble.. Sanitize every thing I or others touch. I want to make it another year. Damn it I want my hormones first. :)

Have a great day

@ElizabethStar Congratulations Elizabeth. I remember trying to buy our house. There can be a lot of issues that are not obvious. I was glad when we were able to actually move in.

As for the mask issue, I wear an N95. It actually seals and protects me. Where I live there are many people who don't wear one or leave their nose hanging out. I've had two different jobs that required masks and we had to get annual training for which masks worked. So much confusion and apathy about masks.

The Scots thing: it's often said that every Scot considers themselves chief of their own clan.

My family is a Sept of Clan Buchanan, from around the Loch Lomond area. We were shipped to the colonies following the rebellion of 1745. It always seemed funny to me that the British were surprised at the American Revolution after sending so many revolutionaries here.

Over the centuries the celts had lots of battles.  Then as they became then clans and organized as the Scots they didn’t get along with the English Many battles were fought in and around Sterling   Sterling Castle has many marks from cannon shots   That was wher the First Stewart boy to be baptized Protestant was born and taken away from the castle to a local church instead of being baptised Catholic in the castles chapel.  The later battles and rebellions were to return a Stewart to the throne and or return to home rule. Hence the Jacobite Rebellion and the forced deportations. In an attempt to stop further rebellion.  The Clans were forced to lay down their arms. And we’re not allowed to wear their kilts and plaids. The English took over Edinburgh Castle.

Scotts: I'm told I'm one-quarter some unknown combination of English, Irish and Scottish. But that branch of the family's been here in the colonies since...well, since they were colonies, so I don't know any more than that...

@ElizabethStar So glad the day went so well for you, between the injectables being ok and the house!

I took Friday the 13th off too, but only as a coincidence: I had a day's worth of "use it or loose it" time off that was about to expire, so I took the opportunity to turn my one-day weekend into a blissful two-day (I'm back in Sunday afternoon, ugh. Oh well, extra hours!)

Is there anything that isn't in the urban dictionary? ;)

Sometimes, tho, I get the impression urban dictionary is less of a dictionary, and more of a place for people to go when they feel like making up new words for everyone else to assume already existed. (But not "covidiot", I know I'm far from the first to use that one! I do like it though :))

Good morning. Coffee is hot and sweet.

Thank you everyone. Since we're doing a quick close it's going to be quite the whirlwind of events over the next few weeks. Then then the big move. I'll see how that goes. Supposedly it takes about a month for the new meds to really kick-in. My luck I'll be stressed-out, emotionally over-loaded, balled-up, crying in a corner instead of moving. It ought to be fun.

@ElizabethStar hang in there. I haven't kept up with all the activity in this topic... Too much for my tiny brain... BUT whatever you are going through with moves and meds... You are one of the toughest and strong women I know and you will do just fine.

Good news is that I have nothing serious going on. The blood was coming from internal hemorrhoids, and the doctor says it's from the "typical American diet." Too much fat and carbs but not enough plant based fiber. A few other things were noted and biopsies on them for safety sake.    Hospital visit was grand with "most" of the staff addressing me as female. I did have "bra talk" with one of the CNA's. Even my discharged papers use my preferred name on them (Birdie).   So basically, adding more fiber to my diet will eliminate my internal hemorrhoids as well as lower my risk for cancer.
