Well, I saw my endo today and she started my HRT. I was so relieved, but there was a problem with the pharmacy and my insurance. I think it's been straightened out, but by the time I found out, it was too late to get my script today. I'm glad I didn't sit outside the pharmacy and wait, like I wanted to. It took hours and it is... so cold here. I am so nervous and excited. I have wanted this for so long. I just hope I can sleep tonight.

Oh, sorry about the delay, but otherwise: Congrats!!! 🎉

I was in much the same position just a couple weeks ago, got the HRT prescription but had to wait to get it filled. Definitely an odd mix of frustration and excitement! Hope it goes really quick for you and you can get it next day!

@Mattie Anne congrats! what an exciting time for you.

@Elizabeth Star I feel you. You've had to hide things for so long and then face emotional trauma when you finally started revealing things. Your hiding things is just a conditional response for both of you now. Gonna have to break that cycle which will be challenging. She probably won't change her responses for quite some time but if things are to get better, unfortunately you're going to have to suffer through some blowback for awhile. I wish you the best.

I was sitting in my hotel room after a day of avoiding reality when the phone rang and the caller ID said it was the hospital I'm scheduled for FFS at.  I almost didn't answer. My heart just sank as I picked it up expecting the cancellation notice. Turns out just to be the people who do insurance stuff for pre admissions.  They had no info on where things stand regarding "elective" surgeries being cancelled or not.  30 minutes later I go an email from my surgeons office saying that I had a message from them in my patient portal.  I logged on with dread.

Turns out to be good news on a different front. I"M SCHEDULED FOR VAGINOPLASTY SEPT 20th!

I hate this emotional roller coaster.

OK, off to avoid reality again and do some diving.

Pic of me avoiding things yesterday with my new double tank sidemount system:25B1B14C-449D-465B-84E6-C3B51105E398_1_201_a.thumb.jpeg.12b717faf1c81b4c3a6ce5420d2cf1fa.jpeg

Day two....

She's still angry. When I got home from work, As usual I went straight to guest room to change my clothes and just said "hey" as I passed as I passed her. I worked on out kitchen for a few minutes but decided to get some cleaning done instead. With the number of dishes in the sink, clothes on the bathroom floor and small random pieces of garbage on the floor, I feel like I live with a teenager. Regardless, I got it all cleaned up and even put away the Christmas tree. It wasn't until I tried to watch some TV that she wandered out to make her dinner (something I rarely ever see) and yell at me some more. Yes I had agreed to hold off on any major changes until after her transplant but that was many, many months ago when she told me the cigarette in her hand was the last one. As she was explaining her reasons for not quitting (the fight she started with her family, her health and of course me) I was having a hard time trying to not crack a smile. Her excuses seem extremely counter productive and for lack of a better term...pathetic.

Later on she needed me to get something from our neighbor. What threw me off was that she yelled Liz across the house to get my attention when I needed to go next door. It was a first. Upon hearing my name I snapped to attention and went to the neighbors.

It was also offered that I could return to our bedroom to sleep. I had literally just moved and plugged in my chargers when she said it. Without a word I stayed my course. I think we need a little separation. Besides, the guest room is a lot warmer and I have control of the TV. If I returned to our room it would be a matter of days before we start fighting again. I'm done fighting.

I'm so sorry you're going through this. I've said this before, you and I have such similar wives and situations that we must be related. Life really sucks at times. Take a deep breath and listen to some good music. You can't change her. All you can do is take care of your own well being. She knows all your trigger points. Don't let her use them against you. Be calm and precice with your conversations. Just like the judicial system, anything you say and do can and WILL be used against you. If it possibly can be misconstrewed in her favor, it WILL be. Wives don't forget anything. I hope you gals can weather through this.❤️

@Elizabeth Staryour difficulties with your wife are hard for me to read because it hits to close to home. My previous marriage had a similar dynamic and it was no surprise to anyone I knew when I left her for someone else. I hope you’re able to experience unconditional love in your lifetime.

They don't know your deep down thoughts or love you on the level that your spouse does.  Losing her would be devastating; on a totally different level.  So that's why many have trouble telling their closest friend.  I know I did.  My counselor had to prod me to do it.  Coming clean is hard but it can be cathartic.  Staying clean with no secrets is liberating.  I would recommend working on it.  You may find life is easy overall.

Good morning everyone,

The house is quiet, just the ticking of the kitchen clock can be heard over the muffled chirps of the birds at the feeders. Well just as I typed that peaceful line, the furnace kicked on... Because it's 12° F and sunny outside.

The coffee is HOT, black, and strong in my thick ceramic mug.

@JaniThis advice you shared with @Elizabeth Staris so sound, we all should practice it. I'm also pained in telling my Suzie, about my real fears, and discomfort. Thank you for sharing it with us.

Hugs, (masked where required)

A lot of it was my fault for not speaking up and challenging her or telling her no.

She told me that if I had been less of a "nice guy" and not so understanding it might have worked out.

When I came out to her she was not surprised al all.

My situation was similar in some ways.  I was, and still am, a mostly passive sort of person.  My ex was always bothered when I wasn't assertive enough (when she wanted me to be).  I just wasn't one of those Alpha-type guys - which is not surprising, considering.  And I had learned to keep my true feelings quiet, so I didn't really want to argue when I thought she was wrong about something.  I mean, it was just my opinion anyway, right?

She had insisted on separate rooms for about a year before we actually split - which hurt me a lot.

I was not out at the time and still fighting my internal transphobia.

I actually was the one that left, but really it was over anyway.  And I didn't want her to have to find another place to go.  It still hurts.

On the plus side, it was only when I got away from what had become a toxic situation that I was free to dig into my self and admit there was a girl inside.

I am still friends with my ex.  When I came out to her she was not surprised either.

It is a delicate balance between spouse's/partners regardless of the situations.

For my spouse it was the fear of me walking out, she felt 'Linda' stole her husband from her.

When she realized I wasn't going to leave her and the kids, the talks began, and concessions started

and we worked it out.

OMG girl my heart goes out to you.As I read this the memories of my late wife came flooding back, as I my experiance was so simular. My wife was an alcholic and had sever liver disease and was on a transplant waiting list provided she quit drinking. She never did and her excuses was to blame everyone and everything for inability to quit and so the disease won. I was not out back then but I was secertly cross dressing and battleing gender disphoria which at the time I didnt even know what that was I just knew that this female inside of me was making my life miserable. I will be keeping you in my thoughts and hoping that your partner will have the courage to stop and that you two can eventually have a good life togther.

Well, for those of you who need a laugh, I put a couple cakes in the oven. They now look like a couple of mushrooms. I looked at the instructions again and it reads pour into 2, 8" round pans. I totally missed the 2 part. Poured it into 1 pan. 🤨

I would never laugh at your mushroom cake, but... yeah. Two layers so you can put frosting between.

Hi everyone

My wife and I are sitting in the library.  No the boat doesn't have one.  We figured we could go to the public library to be warm.  I know for many of you this is warm, down to 30 last night.  But, when you are on an uninsulated boat, a 1500 wat electric heater doesn't do much.  it was 58 inside this morning.

Lots of good medical news today.  congratulations!

Some not so good.  Liz, sorry you are still have a bad time.

@Bri2020 Are you a deep diver a cave diver or what?  I the picture of the side mount tanks.  I am an open water instructor for Naui and SSI.  But I have not paid for insurance for a number of years so I can't actually instruct anymore Not worth the $700 minimum.

I think I will look for a different heater.  possibly one that doesn't use electricity.

Always good to read the instructions more than once. LOL.

My second ex always liked starting fights even when her Mom would visit and talk about awkward that was. Her Mom would say what is wrong with her?

I would say you got me she does this all the time.

My guess is she wanted me to leave.

Being my second wife she bugged me about putting her on my bank account and on the the mortgage and I would never do that.

She had her own bank account so I am sure she had a not so nice reason for wanting into my financial affairs.

After my first marriage ending in a cheating wife I never trusted women all that much.

Being crapped on twice by women made it hard when I dated an old female friend..

I just couldn't commit and yes I had come out to her about being trans before we started dating.

She was more than understanding and we even went out together as two women.

She would get off as two women kissing or holding hands in public which was fine with me.

But my lack of commitment issues and being hurt in many relationships I had reached to point I had to cut it off with her.

It was really painful but we are still friends.

What to chime in here today? First boats, If my wife and I were going through what a member is going through,

my wife would of sunk the boat with me in it.

Relationships. Wife and I have a joint account, and we both have separate accounts.

Shaving the crown. I'm going to cry now. My hair used to fall on my breast, then

I went mental and shaved my head. I even got rid of everything 'Linda'.

Mushroom cake, sounds interesting. Will I enter Alter State? (shroom movie)

Oh, I forgot the separate bedrooms.

When the kids moved out, I moved out of the master bedroom and took one of the rooms.

Wife is a light sleeper, I snore, separate bedrooms brought us closer.

It also gave us much needed freedom. I don't live in the basement, just can't take

pictures upstairs.

My separate bed room. Not sure how many years ago.(I know it is before I went mental).

Wife did the decorating for me.

We also went on to build our own rooms to our own liking.

I still use the master bath, I mean gosh, I just spent $10,000 on the remodel.

So my life at home, little by little, comes out.

Hi and hugs.

Relationships were too much of a challenge for my former-gender life.  Being so unhappy I could only attract unhappy and self destructive people to me.

More open again now, and hopeful.
To be able to handle the pain, and work, it takes to stay close to other humans.

I'm not opposed to diving deeper depths but tend to keep it above 80'  I don't do tech or caves. I do sidemount primarily because I can haul the tanks to the water separately, then suit up with the BC and camera, walk down, drag the tanks out and hook up in the shallows or while floating.  While it is more gear, each trip is lighter so easier on my back. When I come in, I stop in about 8-10' and completely take the tanks off and swim them in shallower and drop them. They float at that point so I just reverse the steps to bring everything to the beach and back to the truck. If I ever move close to a dive place I will invest in 60 cubic ft tanks to reduce the weight.  Side mount is a great platform for photography too.  I often dive solo to shoot pics so having a completely redundant system is required for self reliant diving. If I'm diving solo and less than 50' I can hang out down there for almost 2 hours. Here's a pic from yesterday of some Vase Sponges at about 60'. These are about 3 feet tall. Some of the bigger ones of this type I've seen.

I was wondering, if you have a double tank in the back, do you have to

balance them with the double tanks up front?

Like you know, single tank in the middle so left boob doesn't throw you off?

Well, my marriage is different.  I'm actually part of a multi-partner marriage.  Like you see in the Book of Genesis.  My husband has four wives...and me.  I was kind of an accident, as our community sets the "reasonable maximum" at four wives, but that's a long story.  Plural marriage is approved in my faith community, with the exception of spiritual leaders, as described in 1 Timothy 3.  We believe that anything that isn't specifically prohibited is permitted.    The purpose of marriage is for people to work together, demonstrate the love of God, and to have children.  My faith believes in exponential reproduction - big families with lots of kids, both as a blessing and with the intention of using the size of our population for political ends.  Being intersex/trans and unable to bear children, I wouldn't have been a good candidate to be somebody's only spouse (the majority of our community tends toward traditional couple marriage).  Since my husband has other partners, I don't have to worry about the childbearing aspect, and I help out with raising our family's kids.  I'm a "bonus parent."    I'm not 100% open about my intersex/trans nature, although my community's leaders are aware of me.  Being transgender isn't condemned, but it is seen as a health problem derived from an imperfect, fallen world and an environment polluted with chemicals.  Since I'm married, I have a safe place to be, and I can live how I need to live.    I firmly believe the advice given in 1 Corinthians 7.  We don't totally own our bodies.  God gets a say, as I believe He created us to be male or female, not something outside the binary.  I don't think that transition without discussion with partners is OK....again, we don't totally own ourselves.  When I started to figure myself out, that was actually the main thing on my mind - will my partners accept me?  How will my position in the family change?  Since my partners don't really have a problem with the mild version of transition that I wanted to do, it has all been good.
    • awkward-yet-sweet
Indeed.  While it seems like the majority of LGBTQ+ folks vote for Democrat candidates, not everybody drinks the Kool-Aid.  I'm a registered Independent, since I vote for individuals rather than party.  One of my trans friends is very pro-Trump - wears her MAGA hat and everything.  I find it interesting to see the reactions she gets... folks aren't always as tolerant as they claim to be.  Even on this forum, you get some real flak from Democrat voters....many will insist that the California way is the only way.    In my opinion, "Project 2025" isn't the real problem.  Check out UN "Agenda 2030."
    • awkward-yet-sweet
While Biden may be more friendly to trans folks, I'm not a single-issue voter.  I just can't choose a Democrat candidate, as I believe their actions will destroy my community and way of life.  Biden just announced that he wants to significantly increase capital gains taxes.  Maybe he intends to "tax the rich" but that is going to affect everything from land sales to grocery prices to the cost of electricity and even folks' retirement savings, as most companies make a large amount of their profits through investing in the market.  It is absolute lunacy to think that increased cost or reduced profits won't be passed on to the rest of us.  Things are going to get way worse at this rate.    Mostly, I vote in elections for state and local issues, as the national government is about as pleasant as a Porta-Potty in July.  So, either I'll do a write-in vote for president, or I'll check the box for Trump.  Anything but Biden.
    • awkward-yet-sweet
Interesting...never knew any of this.  Of course, in my girl form I never got breasts, so I never had to worry about it.  A couple of pieces of tape would have been sufficient...      Sounds like fun   It has been interesting for me since I stopped trying to do sex like a girl.  The real surprise was my relationship with my husband, as he has figured me out pretty well.

They were sitting on the love seat, looking west out over Kansas.  Below them the busy city ran to and fro.   "They called.  My surgery has been rescheduled for May 8.  I need to be there at 5 AM for pre-op.  I start prescriptions and diet change on May 1."   "Okay."  Bob did his not-thinking-about anything look.  Taylor was always amazed that he could  actually be thinking about absolutely nothing. She was always thinking of at least six things.   "How can they be like that?" "What?"  He startled a little.  Contact with reality was reestablished. "Where does the hate come from?  Mrs. McArthur?  She was always polite, but I think she wasn't really.  Somehow she hated me even though there were no indications whatsoever." "Yeah, well, you know they are starting up that plant.  And my company is going ahead with their work there, down n Milliville.   I will have to go down there sometimes." "Oh, Bob." "Maybe I will stop by and ask her." "No." "No.  Cabaret is closed, I have been told.  Your transgender support group has scattered to other places." "What is wrong with those people?" "Same thing as Roosevelt, I guess.  You know all the racial comments against Blacks?  Like that game where our cheerleaders started this insulting cheer, an the opposite team was mostly Black? Teachers stopped it." "I didn't know.  I was staying away from that, remember?" "Yes." "You know all those kids at our church, the ones you called freaks the other day?" "I shouldn't have called them that." "Pastor tells me they are all from all over the Midwest.  These are kids who have been thrown out of their homes and were found on the street.  Other shelters would not take them, so they wound up here." "Not surprising." "I think we could do some good here." "What do you have in mind?" And she told him.

You are spot on here ... but also it seems like such a rigged game for the average person that it's hard to invest energy into the political arena -- too much big money controlling too many people/organizations/narratives for the common person to fee; heard...   In general, why we in America accept either candidate is baffling... for all our innovation as a nation, we can't do better than these two bozos?    The problem is, the political arena is such a sham -- again with large money controlling all aspects of the system -- that a common-sense, love-your-neighbor, make-reasonable-compromises, roll-up-your-sleeves-and-get-to-work candidate will never make it anywhere above the local level (if even there)...    Everything is a reality show, and boring ol' decision makers that try to benefit the most people don't generate enough clicks, views and retweets...  I am not sure it is so much about celebrity as it is about party politics at all costs - "my side must always be viewed as right and your side must always be viewed as wrong!" kind of thinking... there is no consensus building anymore because that will get used against you in campaign ads... When Obama took office and then Hilary ran again, it was like all Republicans want to do was to find someone loud enough to put them in their place. Forget issues, forget character, just win a debate and rally the base.    To get back to your original point, not enough of us care about politics ... and in some ways we've become fat, happy and entitled as a nation. The yearning to achieve the "American dream", which drove my parents and their parents before them to work their tails off and sacrifice and save, is now just "give me the American dream for free while I sit here on my phone and watch tiktok..."

Oh, another comment.   I am a conservative evangelical with strong Republican leanings. So is my wife, my friends, my family. I disagree with a good amount of what the Republicans are doing, but there it is.  I understand the mindset, I think, a lot better than those who are outside it do.   When you insult Republicans you insult me, my friends, my family.   People like me can struggle with trans issues.   Please consider that in posting.

I found this as well. No playacting, they just appear: the finger waggle wave; bracing my elbow on my other arm that's folded across my chest, wrist in the air half-cocked; walking a bit more fiercely... All that. My wife thought I was mocking her at one point!
    • Abigail Genevieve
I find my lack of time to read the thing frustrating, and I will not really comment until I have read it.  This is a wholly inadequate response.   1.  I think there are some legitimate concern.   2. Thoroughly discussing this will consume many threads.   3. I disagree partially with @MaeBe but there is partial agreement.   4. The context includes what is happening in society that the authors are observing.  It is not an isolated document.   5. Trump, if elected, is as likely to spend his energies going after political opponents as he is to implementing something like this.    6. I reject critical theory, which is based on Marxism.  Marxism has never worked and never will.  Critical theory has problems which would need time to go into, which I do not have.   7. There are groups who have declared war on the nuclear family as problematically patriarchal, and a lot of other terms. They are easy to find on the internet.  This document is reacting to that (see #4 above).   8.  Much of this would have to be legislated, and this is a policy documented.  Implementation would  be most likely different, but that does not mean criticism is unwarranted.

Sort of bracing myself for flipping, because I am wearing f and of course I wear f and it is natural to wear f and what else would I wear?  The  novelty is long gone out on this.  I wore a bra most of yesterday but we had a Zoom call and I took the bra off because I was concerned about the straps showing.  I missed it.    My body is saying "I am female!  Treat me that way!"   In the past it has screamed about this activity that  I have done to it.
