Today's ( @KymmieLfence-🥶-meter) in Westfield, IN reads -8°F 30mph winds, and -37°F windchill.

When I feel cold here, these posts from y"all make me feel just a bit better about the south.

Good morning @Ivy

My Suzie, and I are rethinking our forever home here in Westfield, IN, and looking to Tennessee for a new southern home. We still want to experience the four seasons, just not as harsh a Winter as we have here. It's also a bonus that Tennessee doesn't tax our pensions or SSI.

Hugs, and Happy Yule

Sorry but the fence o meter died. I think it got too cold. Official temp right now is -8 -25wind chill. with a forecast high of 26.

This has been a wonderful season (read sarcastic) yesterday 4am was awaken by the fire alarm. Seems that the control board in the furnace fried, literally. Back to the space heater(s) (borrowed a couple more.) we were using one as a fan to push the heat from the buddy heater around. sometime overnight we ran out of propane.

To add to that I haven't done any shopping. Haven't had the $$. However I do have one gift for my wife and one for my youngest.

Lastly, my wife was able to finally get her inheritance taken care of. Of course she hasn't told me how much. I do know she was able to pay off the Yukon our middle son has been using. She has clammed up to me again. No surprise there.

So right now I just want my furnace working. Of course the furnace company has to order the control board.

No wonder I hate Christmas.

But I still wish all my family here on TP a Merry Christmas.

Hugs,

Kymmie

I got a little emotional (happy tears) yesterday, after I had a man (my son in law) greet me with a hug for the first time.  It turned out to the first of many such hugs I got yesterday.  I also got many "you look really pretty" like comments from family and friends.  What a truly wonderful day - sure to be big daily entry in my transition journal.

Good evening

according to my wall o meter, the outside temperature has slllooowwwlllyyy dropped all day.  After the sun goes down that should speed up.

@KymmieL for many years I too have been very unhappy at the Christmas holiday.  I’ve always thought it was because of issues with my family.  Now, I think maybe it had more to do with not being happy with myself.  Whatever the real reason, I am not as depressed anymore.

in many respects this should be my third worst Christmas ever but I don’t feel all that bad.

So happy to hear that!  It is so nice to hear that family and friends treat someone right.  You deserve those happy tears.

Good morning everyone,:coffee:

The Arctic air is still hanging around here in central Indiana.🥶 It's -1°F the winds are sustained 18mph out of the Northwest, and the windchill is -22°F. Filling my bird feeders is the only reason I have to be outside. Every bird is puffed up to fully insulate themselves against the cold. When they're not feeding they're clinging to the leeward side of the trees, and bird feeders.

The coffee is HOT, black, and strong. Later the mulled apple cider aka wassail will have an adult beverage flair to it. I hope everyone is able to see, and feel the love that these holidays are meant to bring. If you are not able to be with family, I hope you've found non-blood family and friends to be with.

Hugs,

Merry Christmas and happy new year everyone.

today is the coldest day here since I moved here.  Wall o meter says 18.  Nothing compared to many of you especially not @KymmieL  I was once without heat.  I used a kerosene heater placed near my return air and ran the fan to distribute the heat throughout the house. Better than spot heaters and safer too.  But make sure you have a CO detector.

love to all

Morning all my friends. Temporary fence o meter the official weather station at the airport. About a mile and a half as the crow flies west of us. 25deg forecast for 36. Heat wave time to break out the skirts.

So buck up little campers in the east. Warmer weather is coming, maybe? LOL.

As for the seasonal love. I feel some but not much. Maybe its just me and my depression talking I don't know. I'll try and feel it more.

Hugs,

Kymmie

Be back later.

Merry Christmas to all.   My grandchildren were opening presents at about 0600 this morning.  Christmas is so much better when surrounded by the excitement of children.

I'm afraid that for me it's going to be a Christmas spent by myself.  I never received an invite to the family dinner.  I guess being trans was one step over the line.  I wish it were otherwise since my mother is 95 and this may be her last Christmas.

That's got to be rough.  Christmas definitely shows who's "in" and who's "out" in a family...and being trans seems to be the easiest way to be out these days.  My sister and I haven't had Christmas with my parents for several years.  My friend is spending Christmas with my family...her family didn't want her around even for the holidays.

Our controversial guest this year is my GF's sister...and her girlfriend...who was her cellmate in prison.  Yep.  While I believe in changing lives and forgiveness and all that, I'm still a bit weirded out.  But my GF adores her sister in spite of what happened between them, and is happy she's able to share the holiday after 3 years away.  I will do my best to be friendly.

Merry Christmas, everyone!

Here on the coast of Ecuador, we aren't dealing with the sub zero temperatures like my friends and family back in NC.  In fact, it will be a lovely and sunny 82F today.

Like many, I'm being frozen out of family stuff on my side.   My wife's side is totally ok with everything and chill.   Guess you can't have everything!!

Merry Christmas to all!  And to all a blessed Christmas morning!

Though it may be a sad day to many, make the best of it be with whomever is part of your Day.

Sadly, I get not being invited to Christmas.  We haven’t been a part of our daughter’s Christmas for a couple years now.  Our son’s wife has invited us, but that just isn’t possible as we are on the Atlantic and they the Pacific.

Enjoy your Christmas with whomever is around you.  Be close to them for they are real.

hugs and love to all

Willow

We just had a nice FaceTime with our daughter and granddaughters.  We just happened to catch them at the right time.  Now the girls are headed to their dad’s home.  He lives a few miles away on his parents farm with his other family.

our daughter mentioned a hidden present here for us.  That was nice, but now we have a treasure hunt.  Things are improving between us and it isn’t about me, it’s that she gets upset when we are at her house believing that we are too critical.  She is sole support so can’t always keep everything just so.  We try to help her when we are there but she takes that as we don’t approve.  Last time we were there I was in a terrible depression so we got asked to leave and not come back.  I think things are getting better but we aren’t there yet.

To everyone you are all my friends

Rather than miss someone, instead of individually responding or wishing each of you individually, accept that our circle is growing each and every day.  That is one of the many things I feel blessed about with this forum.

I read all your posts and you all deserve my care, concern and love 💕 but I can’t always keep up.

please know that I am with you all each and everyday.  That I care about your pain and your triumphs.

Have a very merry Christmas and a happy new year.

your friend in all ways

happy trans birthday! I can't speak personally on the subject, but I hope hormones bring you the changes you're looking for <3

That’s super healthy, to see that something that becomes common has less effect on you and that you are able to decipher these feelings.   Sadly, this trend tends to only deaden good feelings as we tend not to let bad feelings attenuate the same way.   I have noticed less euphoria, but still feel the dysphorias that I have. Sometimes the good sneaks in and reminds me, but often time it’s just me seeing myself in the mirror and being comfortable about what I see when embracing my realized self. I may not get the same buzz I once did, but I don’t feel incongruous when looking at a more “drab” reflection.    Wishing you strength, you are amazing!

Congratulations! and Happy Trans Birthday @LittleSam! That is such a BIG milestone.  I can still remember walking out of my clinic with my first HRT presciption.  I was on Cloud-9.  Wishing you all the best in the start of your new Journey!

maebe thank you I try to be. I thank God for blessings, try to share them, beg forgiveness for my shortcomings n vow to try to do better...2 priests have said no, God doesn't condemn you just for being trans...but apparently evangelicals do   I shall vtry dear thank you
    • MaeBe
Meet him at the being good to others part of Christianity. At the heart of it, there are excellent tenets of the faith. Those that condemn are judging, Jesus would have us be selfless; stone casting and all that. Are you a good person? Are you putting good into the world? If your gender is an issue for God, let God judge. In the mortal realm, let your actions be heard.

and just fi sweeten it..I'm catholic n he hasn't been for years..he's evangelical..whatever that is

Let’s stick to cite-able fact. Most of my posts have been directly in relation to LGBTQ+ rights as it pertains to P2025 and I have drawn direct links between people, their quotes, and their agenda. I have made reference to the cronyism that P2025 would entail as well, by gutting, not cutting, broad swathes of government and replacing it with “conservative warriors” (I can get you the direct quote, but rest assured it’s a quote). All this does is constantly force the cogs to be refitted, not their movement. To say that agencies have directly defied a President is a bit much, the EPA did what Trump told them to do at the direct harm to the environment, the department of agriculture did the same by enacting the administrations forced move to KC which decimated the USDA.      How about Betsy DeVoss for Education? Or Bannon for anything? What about the revolving Chief of Staff position that Trump couldn’t stay filled? Or the Postmaster General, who did much to make the USPS worse?   Let’s not mix politics with racism, sexism, or any other ism. Because Trump made mainly white, male, appointments—many of them not, arguably, people fit for service—or unwilling to commit to term. I can argue this because, again, he’s up for election and will do what he did before (and more of the same, his words).   Please delineate how the selected diversity appointments have negatively affected the US, other than being black, women, or queer? Representation matters and America benefits when its people are inspired and empowered.

When I first started figuring things out, I got a lot more euphoria. Every time a friend would use he/they pronouns for me, I'd get this bubbly feeling, and seeing myself look masculine made me really happy. Dysphoric state felt more normal, so I guess I noticed the pain it caused me less.   Now, it's more just that my pronouns and such things feel natural, and dysphoria is a lot stronger -- I know what's natural, so experiencing the opposite is more jarring than everything. The problem is, most of my natural experiences are from friends, and I rarely get properly gendered by strangers, much less by my family. I've found myself unable to bind in months due to aches, colds,, and not wanting to risk damage.    It partially makes me want to go back to the beginning of my journey, because at least then I got full euphoria. I'm pretty sure it'll be like this until I medically transition, or at the very least get top surgery (you know all those trans dudes online with tiny chests? Not me, unfortunately). It's a bit depressing, but at least I know that, eventually, there's a way out of this.

Major mood, right here ^^^    I've listened to Lumineers to a long time (a major portion of it by osmosis via my mom), so that is almost painfully relatable
    • RaineOnYourParade
As for getting a button-up/formal pants suit, you can try to talk to her more -- Cis women in tuxes have worn tuxes in recent years, after all, (for example, Zendaya) so it can still be a relatively safe topic. For jumpsuits, I'd recommend going with a simple one with a blazer, if you can -- this'll make it look overall more masculine. There's a lot of good brands, but going for one without a lot of extra glitz on it will make it look less feminine under a blazer. I don't know many specific brands though since I usually just get my stuff from chain stores, sorry :<   When it comes to your hair, if you can't cut it, you can look up tutorials on fluffing it up instead. If you can pull it off, it can look a lot shorter and more androgynous instead!
