Yes @KymmieL my court date is still not set.  Neither my attorney nor I expect anything to come of it.  I even asked about “right to a reasonable period of time and he suggested we not do that.

Well it's Friday morning

im pretty sure this is going to be a two cup day.  We signed up at the YMCA that is closest to us yesterday, moving our membership from another Y.  We get it free as part of our health plan.

I also registered for two classes for today.  Yeah me!  But I also just removed my registration this morning.  WIMP!  I didn’t get much sleep last night and I could barely get up to get my coffee.

I was surprised at how accommodating they were, even though I have not requested a name change they were fine with adding my preferred name.  And they have a family locker room so I’ll use that for privacy.

I'm also looking into a new wig.  The ones I have are getting old and are in need of replacement.

I need to get serious with my coffee.

I wish everyone a happy (as possible) new year.  It's 0630, 1-Jan-2023 here - mostly blue skies and warm.  I'll probably be starting the 1350km drive back home home later today.   Leaving my grandchildren will be a sorrowful moment, but have to get back to work and earning money.

Well, Happy New Year for those who are already in 2023.  It will be New Years Eve here soon.  I finally picked out what I'm wearing to the party.  I'm still not very comfortable with dressing up for being in public, but I found an outfit that was dark colors and suitably androgynous.

We finally coaxed my shyest partner out of the house for the party tonight.  Usually she wants to stay home and take care of the kids.  She gets seizures, and is nervous that it might happen in front of others.  But we got her a beautiful red dress for tonight and she looks amazing 🥰

Hopefully 2023 will be good for everybody.

I wish for each of you the happiest of years in 2023.

Now we face the arduous task I dread every January: setting all the clocks ahead 12 months.

Happy New Year 🎊

I opened the front and rear doors to let the old year out and get a fresh new start.  I stood on one foot so I could start on the RIGHT foot.  We kissed and wished each other happy new year.  And I watched the two championships.  Pleased with the outcome of the first and disappointed with the second.  Oh well there’s always next year but losing by one point after leading so much and having a chance with seconds left is a tough loss.

hugs

I skipped that part this year.  But I did swap out the calendars.

I confess that I did not stay up.  But 2023 seems to have happened anyway whilst I was sleeping.

I did sweep the remains of 2022 out the door this morning.

It had its good and its bad.  It was the year that Ivy Anna became official, so that was a plus.

Well, this year started out in an interesting way.  I went to a great New Year's Eve party.  I enjoyed drinks and dancing with my beautiful partners, and had some good food and live music.  Well, it was great up to the point where an old guy (intoxicated) insulted me for my androgynous appearance.  Turned out that he knows my husband's family....and the two families have had a feud since the Civil War, and they fought each other all the way into the 20th century.  So...my husband challenged him to a duel, just like his ancestors would have.  😲  The other fellow accepted, because apparently that's still a thing among the "gentry" here, although a bit old-fashioned.

Thankfully, the friends helped them reconcile, so this morning passed uneventfully and I received the requested apology.  Everybody shared a drink in friendship, and we went on our way.

I swear, every time I think I've got this life figured out, there's another total surprise.  🙄

My partner and I d rove the full ~1350km home today, although we had to tack on an extra ~80km because I left my mobile phone in a female public toilet. I didn't realize until my partner asked me to put some music on.  I got lucky and the phone (driver's license and University staff card) was still sitting where I left it - whew!!!

The whole duel thing sounds like something my kinfolk in GA and AL would do; "Sir, my honor is impugned. Tomorrow at dawn with pistols for two and coffee for one afterwards!" Lol.

I gave up on trying to figure out life a long time ago. It seems like each day is full of its own surprises and challenges.

This one was supposed to be with swords, although I guess the one who is challenged can choose just about anything.  A lot of ritual surrounding it.

I have such mixed feelings about it.  On one hand, its rather romantic to think my husband was willing to do that for me.  On the other hand.... Wow, these are some wild people.  Nobody has died from the feud since the 1950's, but they've carried this on for 160 years.  Its medieval.  🙄

Good morning and Happy New Year 2023

I've been away from most of my social media outlets since before the Christmas Holiday began, because the two youngest grandsons have been here. All of our family members were together for Christmas. We had two granddaughters surprise us with trips home from college.

I have a huge product order to get out here in January, and just found out that some of my most important components will not be delivered until mid January.

I hate STRESS!

Coffee is helping,:coffee: I do love all the memes that have been posted.

Hugs,

Hope everyone had a Happy New Year. I for one just stayed at home. Me and the wife just finished Wednesday in netflix.

In the past week I developed a painful tooth. Today I went to the dentist. Found I have a fractured root. So the dentist has suggested getting a implant. So tomorrow I have to get an appointment with the surgeon. Despite the diagnosis, it was a great visit. They referred to me in feminine terms. The clincher I never told them I was trans. Maybe they saw that one of my medications is estradiol. that is the only thing I can think of. other than my painted fingernails.

SO that was my day.

Hugs

I'm feeling stunned by the news of the Buffalo Bills football player collapsing on the field during a game. It's scary. I’m actually writing about my own football playing in high school these days—what that was like. I was forced to play football by my father to "toughen me up" because I was too skinny (and perhaps too effeminate). Concussions were celebrated there on the field—I had several that were never treated seriously. “Shake it off—get back in there,” was the macho thing to say. “Did you see stars? Cool!”

When you play well, it’s thrilling. But it's always scary. Worst day of football for me was being sexually assaulted in the showers. Best day of football for me was the day I quit the team. Father was not pleased with me. Another day a player on our team collapsed, unconscious. He'd skipped lunch and his blood sugar was hypoglycemic and he was fine later, but you never know—it's a dangerous game.

Too bad for the Bills player, Hamlin, his family, and his friends. I pray for him.

Good morning my coffee is here beside me.

@awkward-yet-sweet Last night I had some tea.  And because of stomach issues I often drink chocolate milk. I hope that counts.  Oh, I also had a rare taste of my Irish Whiskey.

@Davie I didn’t play sports in high school except in gym class.  Yes I got injured too.  Last play of the last game we were playing for the championship.  But there was one boy on the opposite team that was determined to stop us.  If he did they would be the champs.  It was decided that I would be part of a double team to stop or slow him and the runner would go the other way.  He was annoyed that I would dare try to block him and was trash talking.  The ball was hiked, I stood my ground.  He punched me in my gut and I went down.  But we scored and won the game.  Everyone came running back because I was still down. Wind knocked out and three cracked ribs but I stood my ground.  The other person who was supposed to be part of the double team never helped.  Oh well, we won and he was upset.  You see, we were the nerds verses the hoods.

@Davie I too played football in high school. I was an offensive lineman (stupid in hindsight) and I get what you're saying about playing and the "shake it off" mentality. The other catch phrase was "rub some dirt on it and get back in there!" Concussions, broken fingers, sprains and so on were common and never treated properly. what happened last night was something I've never heard of before--having a heart attack due to taking a hit. It proves that helmets are weapons. Some years ago I read a book by a physics professor and an athletic trainer advocating football players not wearing pads or helmets. they based this on extensive comparisons between injury rates between rugby and football, concluding that the significantly lower rate of injury among rugby players was because they had to move more slowly and tackle more carefully due to no pads or helmets. At the time I scoffed but no I'm beginning to wonder if they weren't right all along.

Nope.  I live in a rural area.  Pride events are for city folks.  The normally quiet LGBTQ+ club kind of changes atmosphere during that time, and things get a bit political.  As a non-Democrat, I avoid it.

For me, definitely the size thing.  I'm 5'4" on a good day, and 100lbs.  I can pass as a teenage boy, but never for my real mid-30s age.  And since my husband looks older than his age, I'm often assumed to be his kid.  Or folks think there's something illegal going on.      Also, my lack of the typical aggressive "masculine" demeanor.  I don't really desire the typical masculine social role, nor could I do it even if I tried really hard.  I'm usually quiet and kind of timid.

No, they are the only provider of services I need an my area. 😑

My size. A lot of guys aren't 5'3" at seventeen. My hands. It's a less noticeable one, but my hands are very "feminine"? If you know what I mean. My voice. Very high-pitched. I don't just sound like a female, I sound like a little girl sometimes My chest. I've had to stop binding due to frequent aches doing so, and it's not nearly small enough to just cover with baggy clothes My family. They still call me she/her, so that's an automatic out. My anxiety. I might be able to pass better if I had the courage to correct people. Instead, I'm too scared to speak up, so I find it hard. My lack of men's clothes.   Anyone else have these problems, or other ones?

From what I have read and heard most people are so.busy with their everyday lives and either looking at their phones or in a hurry to notice you out and about.

This exactly ^^^   I actually really liked games where I was required to play a male character. It felt homey, in a way.

I can relate.  I have always played a female character when given the opportunity. Not really and reason except I just alway pick them since I was young

Yes, our little town is having its 3rd annual Pridefest. I've volunteered the first two years  from setup to tear down (though I do take an hour off to eat and drink in the middle).     Then I attend a bigger one a couple towns over that has had some decent entertainment from some semi-famous folks (Laura Benanti, Patrick Wilson, Carmen Carrera, Judy Gold, etc).    This year I made sure to ask off of (weekend) shifts to attend a 3rd one where a group I'm in is in the parade.

Hi Vicky, I agree with you, so far since the time I've been under the new treating doctor's care, she prescribed me medication, but it's for children lol  luckily  my pharmacy warned me from a phone call not to take the medication.
