Well it is a no go for the new position. OH, well. nothing ventured nothing gained.

At least you tried!  Something equivalent or better may come up, and the waiting could be worth it.  Just keep trying and you'll eventually get what you need and want.

@awkward-yet-sweet, good for you! I hope it works out. We all know about the three basic things required for happiness; someone to love, something to do and something to look forward to. You've just ticked a couple of boxes there!

For me, having somebody to love was the most important.  Everything else follows after that.  I waited a long time to find somebody...and she ended up leading me to more than I ever thought possible.

Actually, I'm feeling pretty good right now.  I have something work-like outside of my home responsibilities to do for the first time in about 18 months.  Nobody seems to mind the real me.  And this evening, my husband said something that just really made me feel special.  He was rubbing my back, shoulders, and chest while we talked, helping me relax.  He told me that he thought I was really cute in my girl form, but that he thinks my boy form might even be cuter.  And that he's proud of his "smart little Pocket Fox."   For me, the combination of those sweet words and the physical affection was exactly what I needed.

Good morning,

I over slept yesterday was a couple minutes late clocking in.  But no breakfast or coffee.  Got caught up but it was go go go all morning.  I had to ask for a refresher on how I was to enter something but once I got a quick answer it came back to me.

@KymmieL sorry Ford didn’t work out.  We are always looking for good reliable people, I could get you a job here but the commute would be rough.  Today I have three audits to get done, plus other things during my shift on top of the regular things.  Since I am opening that puts me in the drivers seat.  The Asst Mgr comes in part way throuh my shift but she will have to handle customers while I do the work she would be doing if she opened. Tail wagging the dog.  Guess she’s getting punished for not following the Mgr’s requests.  They do tend to butt heads a lot.

Butting heads with people is a thing the Asst is known for.

@awkward-yet-sweet do you think just maybe this new graphics request was in the offing?  And why you were asked to go to work with your husband?  Obviously, he cares about you a lot and is trying to do things to help you.

speaking of meeting people @Adrianna Danielle we have a youngish customer who comes in frequently, I’d like to approach her but I’m just not certain yet.  She still dresses male but has long hair and early chest development.  My approach, if I ever decided I should would just be supportive but I really can’t be sure that is what is going on here or what and I would not want to make a big blunder if that’s not what he is doing.  A male with early teen boobs doesn’t want to be noticed.

well, I can’t be late again, I’ve got to leave now.  See you again later for afternoon tea and crumpets or scones. Mmm scones!

lol

Good morning, all!!! Cloudy today with some light rain coming. Not a day to work outside.

I will vacuum the house and the head out to our local hardware store after I get cleaned up. Time to buy a new bird feeder for the back porch.

I'm sorry the job didn't work @KymmieL! Hang in there.

It sounds like a busy time for you at work @Willow. Finding reliable people is so hard these days.

Time for another cup of coffee before I start cleaning!!

Enjoy this beautiful day we've been given.

I'm sorry it didn't work out for the new job. Nothing to keep you from being on the search. I had a coworker who used to walk out of the locker room saying; "I was looking for a job with I found this one and I'll keep searching for the next one. Never let them think you're comfortable and settled."

The coffee has just finished brewing, and we have a HVAC technician coming in about 30 minutes to do an annual system check.

It's time to get out of my Pj's.

@Willow it is certainly possible that my husband planned it. Placing me in the path of an opportunity....he certainly does things like that. GF has done some work for the company as an outside consultant, so I'm sure the company owner knows what potential resources are around.

It could also have just happened randomly. He has taken me to work with him before, just because he likes to have me around. I remember one time that I fell asleep with my head in his lap, and he held a meeting with his subordinates without waking me and making me move.  The company culture is family oriented and relaxed.

good evening

good day at work today.  I did do some things a little out of normal but everything was completed successfully.  As I said earlier, the Asst Mgr was my second today.  I don’t think she was too happy about that.  Several customers asked her where Richard was her answer was the manager cut his hours.  Well that is only part of the story,  his hours were cut just like mine were and several others but in his case he made demands about his hours that couldn’t be met.  But instead of making some non complaining remark about it she made sure to lay it all on the manager, thus throwing the manager under the bus.  Similarly when asked why she hadn’t been at work early mornings, she said she was being punished by the manager.  Well that’s partly true, she wouldn’t do what the manager told her to do so she took her off opening.  But secondarily she didn’t have a car to drive temporarily.  You can’t open the store without a car because who ever opens has tasks that require them to leave the store, so it was  at least partly her own fault.  But she chose to throw the manager under the bus for that.  I think she is asking to be fired for insubordination.  And if the manager gets these conversations off the security tape tomorrow she just might get her wish.

im pretty close to being ready to take the asst position but there isn’t anyone ready to take over my job, at least not at our store.  I suppose the other shift lead could if she is able to work earlier shifts and if the other closers were just a bit more reliable.

Ive been wanting some homefried chicken.  We found a BBQ place not far away that had such a chicken but I is made fresh when ordered so it has a 30 minute wait.  It was worth the wait and the other things we tried were also good.  Another restaurant on the list.  At least half of what we ordered came home for another meal.

i get to sleep in tomorrow, I go to work at 1:30!

Good morning, everyone!! I was up early again - already on my third cup of coffee having walked/fed the dog and read the local paper.

We have a birthday party for a friend to go to this afternoon but no real plans otherwise.

I hope to be able to attend tonight's TGP Zoom session. It's been weeks since I've been able to participate with the illness/loss of our dog, two horrible colds in succession and our trip to chase the solar eclipse.

Have a wonderful day and look for the goodness in it.

I hope to see you on the Zoom meeting tonight, April.  I might be late, since I am doing lights and sound for a play that opened last night.  I was home before ten last night, so I think I'll be able to make it.

Today is an anniversary for me.  Seven years ago today, I stood up at the weekly community kaffeeklatsch as <deadname> and announced that henceforth I would be Kathy.  It went as well as I could have imagined: there were some surprised looks, but no hostility and lots of support.  A whole layer of stress disappeared that day and has never come back.  (There have been other stresses, but that one is gone.)  I have been me full-time ever since that moment.

Good morning

I should not have said about sleeping in, now I have to go in 2 ½ hours earlier.  Oh well at least I. Off tomorrow and Monday, I think.as of now, hope I didn’t just jinx that too.

Hot today high 80s dropping quickly and rain to the 60s for a couple of days then more normal 70s.  It just depends on which way the wind blows. Off the gulf, hotter, off the ocean, cooler, out of the north rain and when they all converge, look out.  That’s today.

i made a pot of coffee but I think most of it is going to waste.  My wife went back to bed and I’m not good with coffee when I’m hot, and I am. That’s my fault, I was 4 days.late with my E again.  I just st have a really hard time keeping on a 10 day schedule.  And my reminders aren’t helping..

now I’m going to peak by tomorrow since it isn’t all absorbed in one day, I’ll hold fairly steady but if I’m late again I’ll drop well below my target yet again.

Im down in the valley, the valley so low

But I see my true love, at the top of the hill

i climb the mountain, but she is not there

for she has gone back down, to the valley below

I didn’t come up with a refrain and with that I’m calling the guys with the padded cells. lol

That does sound hard to keep up with.  I use patches, changed twice a week.  But I have to have my phone set to remind me.  I just don't think about it.

Good morning, everyone!! I was late to bed (stayed on the Zoom session until almost midnight) and then up at 4:45 to walk and feed our dog. Now I'm into my second cup of coffee and slowly becoming lucid.

What a fun time on last night's Zoom get-together. We talked about so many different things...and laughed so much. It was worth not getting much sleep.

Today will be a quiet one for us. We generally don't do any work projects and use it as a day to relax and recharge. It is also my "Shaving Day" where I shed all the body hair that's resurged over the last week. Oh, if someone could just develop a pill or shot that would stop body hair growth...but not hair on your head.

Be safe and enjoy this beautiful day we've been given!

Good morning

we had thunderstorms off and on all night but it is calm now.  Not a breath of air moving.

coffee is flowing.  I had a talk with my boss yesterday.  Explaining what was going on the day before for me and why some things didn’t go right.  And I let out some of my frustrations.

we had sort of a block party at the clubhouse last night.  My wife didn’t feel up to going, which is understandable and I wasn’t supposed to be home so we didn’t go physically.  However, we might as well have been there we are visually and audibly less than a hundred yards away so we enjoyed the sights and sounds and some good friends made up a to go plate and brought us some goodies.  Generally, we have found a great community to spend our remaining time.  There are only a very few that take issue with me but I still try to be friendly towards them if for no other reason Ethan to show them I can forgive and forget.

I am going to church this morning and taking the neighbor who brought us the to go box but my wife is staying home.

Time to make a second cup

love to all

Good Morning to everyone. Coffee is just about done. I can hear the coffee pot in its last throws of brewing. Got a lot accomplished yesterday. Me and the youngest got the Explorer pretty much finished. Have the new front brake lines on and bled. Now I don't have to worry about over extending the brake lines on full droop.

I had affirmation from our youngest yesterday as well. We were talking about my wife and he was saying how he was looking to move out with a friend. When he talked to his friend about moving in. His friend asked if it was about your dad and being trans? My son said, no, I'm fine with that, it is my mom that is driving me nuts.

So, I have one more in my corner. Yah.

So, nice day brewing along with the coffee. Gotta run, coffee is calling my name.

Good afternoon everyone,

I'm on my last cup of coffee for the morning. I don't know how fast a cold can manifest into full blown sickness, but something is coming on. In spite of my practicing good hand washing and not shaking hands, I'm coming down with something. Head and body aches from the moment I woke up and getting worse as the day progresses. Yesterday I attended our Fire Department Open House, and maintained clean hands and only fist bumped a few of the other retirees. I'm fully vaccinated COVID, Flu, and Pneumonia. Oh wait... Thursday I may have let my guard down at a funeral home because I did hold hands and hug grieving family of the decedent.

@KymmieLthat's good to know that your son is supporting you.

Happy Days moving into a new and larger tool box. Now you have room for more tools. The Snap On kids want to thank you. I know in the 20 years of my buying Snap On products, I put at least one of his kids through college. Congratulations on the new tool box, this shows your employer that you're not looking to change jobs anytime soon.

"Exstatic" is an adjective that means feeling great rapture or delight. For example, "His wife gave birth to their first child, and he was ecstatic about it". Synonyms of "ecstatic" include rapturous, entranced, enthusiastic, and frenzied.

Good morning, everyone!!   A busy day ahead for me - need to cut the grass and then pick up the clippings. The grass grows so quickly this time of year. I cut almost 7 acres so that will take up most of my day. At least I can get some sun on my legs and arms!!   Time for another cup of coffee as I catch up here.   Enjoy this beautiful day we've been given.
    • April Marie
I started shaving my legs years ago - I started getting an occasional mild contact rash on my shins. That became my excuse to shave them for both me and my wife. Over time, the rash didn't expand...but my shaving did. Full legs....groin......chest......and finally my arms. Keeping the rash at bay was my excuse until I came out to my wife. Now I typically do a full shave on Sunday mornings. The hair is lighter but I just feel better with it gone - it helps with the dysphoria and dysmorphia. I will also typically do a chest touch-up mid week since I notice the growth more there.   I wish someone would invent a pill that would stop hair growth everywhere except on your head.

Good morning.   im not sure where the time went.  I had a decent nights sleep,  didn’t  tell Alexa to let me sleep another 5 minutes,  I didn’t do anything extra but it’s almost time to leave and I just got here.  Definitely only a one cup morning.    I have the overhead console out of the Ford. It needed some repairs with toothpicks and glue.  Been sitting all night t for the glue to harden. I’m always to impatient with glue but not this time.  I want it to hold. Ok the next owner won’t be able to change the lightbulbs however in my defense, the are led so they will likely still work when the car goes to the salvage yard.   gotta go. Not as much on my plate at work today but it’s always busy.   Willow

Yes, my programmer friends and I think that antivirus software is a virus.  It's constantly searching your system and slowing it down.  If you install your own OS and software on your machine, and you make backups of your personal files, then you can recover from viruses in an hour or two.  My computer is 10+ years old and is working as good as the first day I had it.   As long as my computer is doing what I want it to do, I don't care if someone is spying on my system.

If you get a ticket, always say not guilty and go to court. Much of the time, the officer will not show up, and often the district attorney or the judge will not want to take the time. They ticket harvest because most people just agree to the fine and send them a check by mail.   If you are not a commercial driver, Most states also have a ticket forgiveness program. You take a little easy Driver's Ed Course, and it doesn't go on your record or increase your insurance prices. Explore your options!
