Great music (and I love Classical), although I will always think of Elmer Fudd and Bugs Bunny.

Listening to a Bleachers/FUN mix.  Jack Antonoff is a genius.   Apparently he did the music for a movie called "Love, Simon".  Has anyone seen it?

Today im going for something Retro and tip top from back in the day.

Eurythmics - Here Comes The Rain Again

One of the songs I can actually sing and sound half like Annie so i have been told.

She has this deeper tone that i manage to copy to a certain point. Not that im a singer but who knows. im working on it whenever i can. Plus I love the song so double winner winner chicken dinner

I would even go as far to say Annie Lennox was my speech therapist ?

Anyway It beats eating  multiples of Jaffa Cakes

But lets not forget the very early Annie. 1979 The Tourists.

Today I’m listening to a local boy who made it big!  Joyner Lucas. He’s from Worcester mass. About 10-15 mins from my house.

It’s pretty hardcore but very true and honest. Definitely not everyone’s cup of tea tho. I think my fav song is Isis. Prolly cause my son and I both have to deal with ADHD and he talks a little about it. If you like Eminem and Drake and that kind of music check him out. He actually did a song with Em. called Lucky You. Most people into this music know that song.

Had a quiet morning making pancakes with the kids, but while they have wandered off to live me cleaning up I have discovered a Foo Fighters/Joan Jett collab of bad reputation which was amazing - lots of f bombs though, so instead I thought I'd share this which is equally as good in my opinion:

In the vain what are we listening to, I saw an indie film today Carmine Street Guitars about Rick Kelly and the guitars he makes in New York City's Greenwich Village.  His guitars are made from old reclaimed wood.  There were various artists in the film talking or shopping and playing his guitars.  Lou Reed (RIP) played his instruments.  Overall an enjoyable film and worth the time.

Last night I listened to a recent episode of Sound Editions from WBEZ in Chicago.  It was on Neil Young & Crazy Horse's Rust Never Sleeps.  A great telling of Neil's influences on how he came to this direction musically.  Very interesting.  There was also a discussion about the Rickenbacher 12 String Electric Guitar.  This instrument's unique sound anchored many great songs from the 60's and beyond (think Tom Petty).  Its only an hour and worth the time.

I have the album  "Live Rust" (1979) and the picture on the back cover shows Neil's guitar strap with a Jimi Hendrix button pinned on it (very telling). Later many Seattle bands would credit Neil as the "god father of grunge" :)

I see that!  Very telling...  Neil did tour and put out an album with Pearl Jam, Mirror Ball so there was a later grunge connection as well.

I saw a movie today you may enjoy, Echo in the Canyon.  Its narrated by Jakob Dylan (he's got a beautiful voice) and it chronicles the goings on in Laurel Canyon in the mid 60's with the musicians who lived there and the influences they and others that visited exerted on each other.  Totally enjoyable!

I read about her this morning. What a shame! She was beautiful and it seems she had a strong support system in place and could have had a wonderful life all to have it end like this. Such a waste. I truly hope the monster that killed her gets everything he deserves.

I am so glad you enjoy them as well. The help things “stay put” so well. It got me through some of my most dysphoric times.   Wow, I hadn’t heard this at last week’s Zoom meeting if you had mentioned it. That is a huge milestone April Marie.I have no doubt that this confidence will only grow in time. The freedom of being yourself, especially in public, is a wonderful feeling. I am truly happy for you.😘   *Big Congratulatory Hug* Susan R🌷

@Abigail Genevieve, that is not an appropriate question, IMO.  This isn't the Army/McCarthy hearings.   Carolyn Marie

Don't think Americans would go for the "compulsory" part. We kind of like not being told what to do ... Amazingly, there is great pushback on voter ID laws. The opponents say it discourages voting, especially among the poor and minorities. That is really a smokescreen IMO for those who want to harvest ballots from as many places as possible, including folks who don't exist or don't hold citizenship...

Pretty soon I think I might be ready to talk about gender-affirming care for kids, possibly w/r/t the Cass Review and its shortcomings.

She was a beautiful young woman ...   "What we do know is that the offender was a very violent individual and should not have been on our streets.”  Whether gender related or not, the mental health and incarceration issues in our country are incredibly bad and need to be addressed.

April,   I'm glad my entries are interesting to you.  TransCentralPA is a great organization with so many caring people.  I would strongly recommend you find a way to attend the Keystone Conference.  I guarantee you'll find it an amazing experience.     Hugs,   Sally

Dear @Sally Stone.  I think you should author a memoir based on these posts (maybe you're already working towards that?).  You could decide at a later time if/when you might want to publish.   I appreciate you sharing your deep connection with your friend Willa (and I am sorry for your loss) and the benefit of having a Trans friend and mentor in our Life and Journey.  I was fortunate to have found one also in our TGP friend @Kasumi63.   As you know we share many common Life themes in our stories.  Drop me a PM if you'd like to chat about it.  Looking forward to the next 'chapter'.

Voting is compulsory here, for better or worse. Would doing the same in the US snap people out of their apathy?
    • Abigail Genevieve
I am noting you use CRT terminology.  The comment is not out of the blue.  Some of your remarks on religion suggest atheism.  So it is believable that you are a Marxist, knowingly or not.  Are you?
