Good evening

Tis the season that I traditionally have high levels of depression.  I know I am not alone.  But, I’m doing better right now than most years.

went with my wife to her quarterly doctors appointment.  I was surprised that the doctor knew exactly who I was since this is the first time he’d ever seen us together and with masks on.

she and I had a good conversation this afternoon.  She showed me a video Bible study she watches.  Said God told her to show me. I won’t get into it other than to say it was about fear of rejection.  As a group who tends to be worried about rejection more than we are?  I told her the one rejection that worries is her.  Her response was we are beyond that .  She accepts me.  We talked about the past, things like how I felt rejected by my father and how I currently believe my parents knew but kept it from me.

anyway there were tears shed.

Mindy take care of yourself

Bri, I guess we are all going to get a what the comment when someone catches use in a situation that they embarrass themselves.  Good laugh it off story but also a good time to seek protection.

Everyone if you are in the path of this winter storm. Be careful and stay home if you can.

hugs

Willow

Well could be a dilemma. Today I get an email. from the Police department where I put in for the evidence specialist position. They want to do a phone interview, Jan 5. I made the appointment for 12:30.

I have yet to hear anything from the school. Any number of things they can be doing. Back ground Check. ETC. Or just let's let her squirm some.

Anyway I am doing alright. I had a little hard time this morning before I went to work. I was thinking of having a letter to all three of my boys. Telling them the whys and what fours of me moving away. That it was their mom that drove me away. That no matter what ever happens between us. I will always love them. and their families.

OH, just great the water works have started.

I know when I write those letters It will take me hours on each as I will be crying so much that I can't see straight.

Hugs, All

@KymmieL hang in there and cry as much as you want and need. A job interview sounds great. The more options the best. I know especially now that any opportunity is wonderful. Don't read into the school. People have a lot to do and I have found when we humans try to speculate on something we think best case or worst case and more of the time it is neither. Keep trying the right outcome will come.

@Bri2020 that outfit looks great.

Today I had a -what the heck- moment. I had just spoken to my partner and was hot footing it back to the house (bare feet, hot pavers, Australia you get the picture) when I caught the reflection of this woman running towards the sliding door. I nearly tripped as my brain slowly caught up THAT IT WAS ME, !!!

Not particularly fetching in shorts and T-shirt though, It was a shock nonetheless.

Had a giggle about the almost falling over in the driveway because I don't recognise myself.

Stay warm everyone, the warm days are starting on this side of the pond.

Hugs

Robin

Good morning all!

@Bri2020 You look great!!

@Willow So glad you and your wife are getting closer. Those conversations are gold to rebuild intimacy and closeness

@KymmieL A good dilemma to have! Congrats on your new oportunity and every luck for your interview on Jan

@Robin.C LOL That's wonderful. Congrats for your hard work to get here :)

I'm doing good. A bit in a kind of limbo space between who I thought I was and who I can be - but am not yet. Way more calm than I was a few months back (you all in this forum and my therapist to thank for that), and trying to love myself no matter what, even if this limbo space.

Have a very nice day

Good morning all,

Today's the big day. In 3 hours I'm signing my life away and will officially be home owner. I nerve though it would happen but here I am.  I will be leaving the remnants of the guy behind. There's nothing left of him but a empty worn-out shell.

After we sign the papers we have to goto my MIL's house to pick up a few things. I'll also be getting the clothes she offered. My wife doesn't know yet. I'm hoping it'll ease some of her stress but will probably be a train wreck.

I have a co-worker offer me some clothes yesterday. She's bored with them and cleaning out her closet. I've told her a few times how much I love her outfits and style. Guess it's paying off. I would have been happy just knowing where she shops but no, I get some of the actual clothes.

Another co-worker has a collection of purses. She gets them from  her mother who buys them whenever they're on sale. She offered more that once to give me a couple and I usually decline. This time I accepted but asked her to decide whatever she though I would like.

Well, I'm off to start the process have to do the final walk-through in 1-1/2 hours.

Have a great day everyone.

Good morning

wow, what a strange day and it’s only just begun.  I guess my girl hormones are kicking in.  I had a cry for no reason.  Still tearing.

rainy day here but no offense that beats the snow my daughter is getting today, any many of ya’all too.

@KymmieL being able to make a choice is a good thing.  Don’t forget schools are about to shutdown for up to two weeks.  So they have a lot on their plate to get done.

@Robin.C you are luck that woman in the door didn’t walk straight into you.

have a great day.

@ElizabethStarGood luck with everything today! How exciting and nerve-wracking all at the same time. Cheering for you!

Also secretly jealous of the clothing offers, I hope you find some great pieces! I was talking with some girlfriends last night and now I'm obsessed with sweater dresses. I need a super cozy one for this snow we're about to get here later today.

Now what happened to my coffee?

Love,

~Audrey.

I have a friend that used to run a "Hippy Boutique" that unfortunately didn't make it.  She has helped me out a lot with clothes and purses/bags.

Hope your house business works out well for you.

Just cold rain here today.  We're just south of where the ice happens.  Someone sent a pix from Winston-Salem, were they were getting a glaze.

I would prefer snow to ice any day.

Stay warm y'all.

@ElizabethStarCongratulations on new homeownership! Wishing you and your wife all the best with the upcoming move. So exciting... even though I'm sure it was hard to part with all that hard-earned money at once.

Back to making vegetarian black bean chili and cornbread for dinner. Perfect for this snowy night!

Love,

~Audrey.

Good evening.  Congratulations @ElizabethStar to you and your wife.

well you never get too old to worry about your kids.  Been watching my daughter make her way home through ice and snow.  The hospital where she works is 50 minutes on a good day.  Its been over 90 minutes and she isn’t home yet.  Ice, snow, mountains, snowplows.  She’s usually home about 9’15, it’s 10’30.  Oh and I’m over 400miles away, so I can’t help her except to tell her where the road delays are according to state maps that show incidents and slow traffic. Plus I can see traffic cameras.

Until tomorrow

Thank you everyone. I've already met one of my next door neighbors and saw another. We haven't exchanged names yet. It was more of a grocery store conversation. Today more schlepping.

I didn't think I could do it either but I didn't have a choice. The house we're renting now is going up for sale in a couple of weeks and we couldn't afford to buy it. Sorry Kymmie, no plans for a party yet.

It's also networking.  Sometimes jobs come along because someone knows someone else - these older people might know someone.  "Hey, Ashley," someone might say,"My nephew is looking for love. He likes tall women. Whatcha think? Can he call you?"   Don't discount their ability to match make.  It is about networking.

He is simply doing to get more votes. He held a Trump for trans during his first run and found out the majority of his voters were against us so he simply followed the crowd.

The sad part is I'm the third oldest member. One is in their 60's and the other is past 70's. I'm even older than the president lol. It's a younger crowd that's for sure. I like to come here to feel young again lol.

Ashley, I think searching for relationships are a lot like searching for jobs, they tend to come along when you aren't actually looking.  Perhaps you could step back from actively searching, at least for a little while, and instead, concentrate on just being out and about as yourself.  Like Mae and Abby have already mentioned, just keep up your volunteering, but don't focus on a need to find someone.  Maybe, just maybe, changing your tactics will result in someone finding you.    I do wish only the best for you, and I hope someone comes along who connects with you.

First off, you can't regret being honest. You may not be changing the relationship, but it sounds like it still exists!   As for meeting people, what about through the volunteering you're doing? Maybe you can do more of that and meet people. Let some relationships grow and if they blossom into something more than friendship, great! If not, you've got more friends!

Hi Giz, welcome. There's so many different ways to be trans and you're so welcome here. I wish you luck in achieving your goal of being more androgynous. There's forums in here that might suit you and your goals. I look forward to hearing more from you. I go by he/they pronouns at the mo.

Hello @JenniferB!  Was kind of in the same boat with this.  I spent massive amounts of energy over several decades to try to control my drinking and drug use.  Because I'm highly disciplined, I was ultimately successful.  I felt I could have gone on with controlled drinking for the rest of my life without problems, but it got to the point where I realized that it wasn't worth all the energy I was putting into it.  At that point I found surrender.  I got a sponsor, attended almost daily meetings for a year, worked the steps to the best of my ability, tried my best to socialize with people even though I am an introvert, I made a mess for myself at the meetings and felt a little rejected.  And then I continued on doing a little service work.   After a few months away from it, I'm in a good spot.  I accidentally ate one of my roommates edibles a couple months ago.  I have only smoked a half ounce of weed in the last 20 years.  After it kicked in, I realized that it was a marijuana high.  Then I noticed something miraculous.  I just told myself that there is nothing I can do about it and then got on with the business of the evening like I normally would.  It was like the high just ended right then and there.   Controlled drinking like I was doing was just very risky behavior and not worth the effort for me.  In any case, I'm very happy that I spent my life fighting it all instead of just giving into it.  I think that whatever you put into something, you eventually get back out.   Meetings are cool.  People generally get equal time to share.  Seeing people who are struggling reminds me of the way I was and why I want to remain sober.  And by being there, I have the potential of helping someone else.  The stuff I don't identify with I just do my best to not let bother me.  And if it gets bad there, I don't have to go back.  I can find another meeting or even just read the literature.  The literature helped me a lot.

Good afternoon everyone,   I often wondered why @April Marie and @Willowgot up so early in spite of being retired. Now that I have my own puppy as a house pet I get it. We haven't had dogs since before my oldest granddaughter was born 22 years ago this September. I've always had working hunting dogs, and it was important they became acclimated to the current weather conditions. While the kennels had large outdoor runways, they also had pet passes into the somewhat temperature controlled garage. Yes, they were allowed in the house but only for short periods of time. Fast forward to present time, and I'm potty training a puppy as well as crate training. The first night Parker Von Schwinegruber, slept from 10:30 until 05:30. Last night we went to bed and 10:30 and he started making noise at 05:00. Since I don't want to test his ability to hold his business, we got up and went outside. He took care of business and we went back to sleep. This time he had a dental chew bar and I filled his water bowl. We cat napped until 08:00 and then got up for the day taking him immediately outside. He took care of business, and we played fetch and tug of war with his now favorite puffball. We came in and I put him back in the crate positioned so he could see me cook breakfast. Did he NO HE WENT TO SLEEP! We ate breakfast, did the dishes, and finished off the pot of coffee I brewed at 08:00. Once he woke up we stared at one another for about 20 minutes, because he seemed content to be in the crate. I got up and we worked on some obedience training as well as getting into and out of the crate with permission. We don't want him to crash the gate or any doors we will be going through.   Hugs,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋
