@Willow Interesting that you have Russian mafia... Do you have a lot of folks from Eastern Europe there?

I'd say that an increase in concealed and open carry is a good sign.  You're always going to have a certain number of folks up to no good, but an attentive population definitely keeps things in check.  My area is relatively low crime... nobody goes trespassing. It kinda looks like the Wild West in town, as you see lots of open carry.

The only real crime is drug manufacturing, mostly for sale outside our area.  Those who get caught end up "volunteering" on the county road maintenance crew.

Good morning!! Dogs walked and fed? Check. First cup of coffee consumed? Check. Now it's time to catch up on the news and the forum.

We went out for lunch, a little shopping and a movie yesterday. I always forget how much I enjoy the cup of soup and 1/2 sandwich at Panera until I go back.

Be safe and enjoy your day!!

Well back to the grind. and my new driver position. today and tomorrow then off Sun/Mon. Ordered a larger garage heater. Tired of waiting several hours for the little one I have to heat the garage up to a work in able temp.

Well, the wife is back to her old self. The first real thing she says after she walks in the door from work is to complain about me. I never get I'm glad to be home. or in the case of me coming home. Glad your home or even how was your day. Which I always ask her.

I hope all is well at work. suspicious of what the store manager has in mind for me. Nothing good, anymore.

Have a good day all.

Hugs,

Kymmie

I'm visiting one of my daughters for the weekend.

One of the others, who recently informed the family that she did not want her kids to be around transgender people just (finally) reached out to me with a text wanting to go for a walk together.  I'd be okay with that, except I'm out of town for a few days.

Sometimes I worry that I'm responsible for division in the family.  But it's not on me, is it.

I saw this one and it seems to apply.

I've tried to accommodate these people in the past, but I'm done with it.

My what a bad night.  Couldn’t get to sleep then when I did I woke up and couldn’t get back to sleep.  I took some acetaminophen PM and finally got to sleep but now I can’t get past being groggy.

Weather report is overcast, high in the upper 70s again.  Maybe a walk on the beach is in order.

@KymmieL I know how it can feel to wonder when the next job disaster is going to hit.  I had a boss once who basically had threatened everyone.  I was like pulling into the parking lot, is he here today?  If he was it was a big downer.  Saving grace, he was fired for cause and I got his job.  Unfortunately, I don’t think you are quite in the same position.  Good luck but don’t worry so much that you can’t do your job.  Clearly he/they/them is looking for anything to terminate you.  But I’m pretty sure you would be an anti discrimination protected person and O’Reily wouldn’t want to hear that they had just fired a disabled vet on trumped up allegations.

@ivy enjoy your time with your daughter.  I would try to schedule that walk upon your return.  Your chance to hear her feelings and defend yourself.

@Ivy What a tremendous quote - thanks for sharing it. And, I agree with @Willow- go for the walk when you return. Any division that results will certainly not be of your making.

Willow - hope you are coming out of the groggy fog. It's cold and windy here in the northeast - but we saw a flock of geese heading north this morning. Spring is coming early.

All this reminded me that a post I read recently. We think about plastic as it persists in the environment for a very long time, endangering wildlife and dispersing pollutants.
But also, due to the strength and biodegradability of the filaments and plastics used in 3D printing, less plastic waste is produced. And businesses (as well as individuals who are just starting out) can employ other types of recycled materials in 3D printing.

I was thinking about this a lot. found this video showing how to recycle a plastic bottle into a filament for 3d printing.
Just ordered this 3d printer to try this on my own.

@heatherd wow,  that’s worth two WOW!  That’s really something!  You and your identical twin brother are helping another set of identical twins now girl boy too.

I’ve said it before but it’s worth repeating.  I believe anything we can do to help teens to understand, to know that there are others that know what they are going through and want to help, is our contribution.  Giving back in some way is what we all need to do.  A BIG Thank You to you and your brother for sure.

@Clofree I knew some plastics, and particularly bottles could be recycled but I never knew that meant into 3D printers.  I just thought what the manufacturers would want you to do and use materials purchased from them.

As for start-up businesses, I think even though 3D isn’t inexpensive, it has to be a whole lot cheaper when designing prototype parts verses machining metal over and over until you get what you want.  Thanks for teaching this old gal something new.

Good morning everyone!! Another day begins. I need to run the vacuum later this morning but no real plans otherwise. It's a cold day here today so I think I'll get a good fire going in the fireplace and spend some time reading.

April Marie, that sounds like a good plan! There's something special about sitting in front of a fire with a good book and a cup of coffee on a cold Saturday morning. Add in a nice throw blanket and maybe a dog snuggled against you and it's darn near a perfect day. Enjoy!

I would love to mentor or help out a transgender teen.  While I would like a mentor as well. As far as I know we don't have any support groups here in town. Surprising since University of WY is here. Maybe I'll do some more looking.

Good morning

I had too many things on my mind last night and couldn’t sleep.  So instead I got up and made bread.

learned another lesson, be sure to coat the top of the dough with butter or oil to seal it or it will just deflate when you uncover it to bake.  Who says you can’t teach an old gal a new trick or two.

@KymmieL it does seem odd that with a large university in town there isn’t an LGBT support presence.  Maybe you need to check on campus bulletin boards or student services on campus.

Even though we don’t do much directly for the teens, what we do is provide a place for them to get together and share their concerns. Get to know others with similar concerns.  But even more importantly their parents meet and discuss issues so that they can better understand and support their child.  Unfortunately, you can’t get through to all of them. All they have to do is not stay, just drop off and come back.  We don’t have many but we do have a few like that.

Rainy and cooler today.  But it will be back to the 70s in a day or so.

I just do a simple bread, but I find baking quite therapeutic and relaxing.

Hey all, getting ready to have my second cup of coffee.

I've had some things on my mind lately, mental health has been a bit better this week. I'm deciding to not compromise anymore about who I am or how I express myself through my art. I have a right to draw things that make me happy.

I had a issue where I have been apart of this one anime art site since middle school (for context I'm 30 going on 31). And the site has kinda died down and it's no longer the active hub it used to be. Had one person on there tell me I was disgusting for being my true self ( a trans guy) just because I told her I use he/his pronouns now...but I've had other friends that have been somewhat supportive which I'm thankful for.

However, when it comes to posting my artwork, I've felt like my stuff isn't welcome anymore...it doesn't get much likes, favorites or much feedback except every once in awhile....and I draw a lot of LGBT+ style content especially to draw out scenes or to see how things would look for my fanfiction stories. I had somebody tell me that they liked my art but a lot of people are "uncomfortable with the LGBT+ lifestyle." Like it's a choice. And that kind of makes me sad. So I'm probably not gonna post my work there for the foreseeable future to protect my mental health.

I am so looking forward to this: A friend of mine put me in for mentoring trans teens whilst teaching them the basics of ballroom dance. I cannot wait.

Depending on what time of day and the weather. For relaxing is writing my stories. Then working on the car or one of my many models.

I did check equality Wyoming. They gave me a link to UW LGBTQ+++ they have a space and resources by does seem to have any support groups.

I did email the local pflag chapter seeing if I could get something back.

I was asked how I could possibly lose 25 pounds in six months. "Well," I said. "It's easy. First you change your gender, then . . ."

Good afternoon everyone! Late to the table today - had to head out early to help a relative who ended up in the hospital last night. Home now and just relaxing for the rest of the evening. I hope everyone is having a wonderful day!

Good morning, everyone! The dogs have been fed and walked, and I've already had my first cup of coffee so I think I'm lucid enough to spend a few minutes here catching up. I hope everyone in the path of the storms is safe and sound!

We should submit all of the poetry from this site's Poetry Forum and see what they think of all that good stuff!    I'd love to frame their rejection letter.   Carolyn Marie

Your brother is the person who has decided that "sin" is involved because he has lost control of a part of his life by you taking on your authentic self.  It is not because you have committed any Sin per se, but because he is no longer controlling your life, evangelicism or other wise.  He is using formula words and ideas hoping to re-gain that control over you.  Your Roman Catholicism vs. his choices of religion would be enough to do it in many many cases.  Your being Trans is just one more area of his losing his control.   If your brother were also Roman Catholic, I suspect he would be the same way about you on just the Trans issue itself no matter what your priests would tell him -- he has lost control of your life and is afraid he has lost control of his life.    Family members of any religion who fear loss of control will often cite scriptures they believe support their Position.  If Bible verses are needed, Matthew. 10:34-8 which speaks of division in families over religion would be a casual point directed at your brother's control issues.

I am an evangelical  I am also transgender.  This is an issue. I have read up on it.  I am not an expert, but I have done a lot of reading.   One thing I do not get about people who take that position is that evangelicals are all about salvation by faith alone by Christ alone by grace alone - unless you are transgender.  Then you cannot be saved, these say, unless you do the work of un-transgendering yourself.  Which is, practically, impossible.  I have read the "solutions" and I don't buy them, obviously, because they do not work.    In evangelicalism salvation is by faith alone, Christ alone, grace alone, without any merit of our own.  That means, to an evangelical, we come to Christ as we are,  in the words of a glorious hymn,   1 Just as I am, without one plea, but that thy blood was shed for me, and that thou bidd'st me come to thee, O Lamb of God, I come, I come.   2 Just as I am, and waiting not to rid my soul of one dark blot, to thee, whose blood can cleanse each spot, O Lamb of God, I come, I come.   3 Just as I am, though tossed about with many a conflict, many a doubt, fightings and fears within, without, O Lamb of God, I come, I come.   4 Just as I am, thou wilt receive, wilt welcome, pardon, cleanse, relieve; because thy promise I believe, O Lamb of God, I come, I come.   We do not clean ourselves up BEFORE we come to Christ.  We let Him clean us up AFTER we come to Him.    Those who insist that transgender people cannot be saved are actually preaching another Gospel, a Gospel of works, and have wandered away from the glorious Gospel into works.  That is strong but true.   Struggling with legalism and grace, I have found more of God's mercy and grace available to me because I struggle with being transgender and seeking His resolution of it.  Which, not having the struggle, I would not have needed to seek Him earnestly on this.

Eventually, (especially if you start T,) things will even out. The excitement you feel is from everything being so new. Finally knowing yourself and having others recognise you can be thrilling. However, because it is your natural state of being, eventually that wears off. There's nothing exciting about it anymore because it's "just you." (Which is a perfect thing to be!) This, however, can lead to disappointment. Trust me when I say however, that that disappointment and jarring reaction to wrong pronouns will go away, and you'll once again feel comfortable in yourself.
