i think theres something wrong with me i just bit my lip and the first thing i thought was that the blood tastes really good

VAMPIRE!

No - really - blood is okay - or you wouldn't stick a cut finger in your mouth. If this gets to be a habit, consider switching to rare steak - but PLEASE don't roam at night and suck the blood outta people on the street! HIV is out there - and it is serum transmitted. Also - people tend to get PO'd when you sink your teeth in their neck.

Also avoid stealing blood otta refrigerators in hospitals! You don't know where that blood has been! May be dinosaur blood samples! Or from serial killers!

Just be good to yourself! If you like blood - dilute the catsup bottle, add some ground up rust and some sea salt, and pour it on everything.

BUT

Seriously - do not slice and dice your own body. It leaves scars for life - and it will really cause you addiction problems later. Don't even start!

Sorry about that Colton.

Maybe I could make up for it by telling you you're welcome here for bear season-a long as you don't bag the one that keeps drinking from my stock tanks even if she does get ALL the fruit from my orchard.

Apparently there's some wild hog out there too but nothing like your Hogzilla so it might be a little tame for you.:D

I just came to share this pretty interesting article that I found in disinformation.com. Sorry if this has been already posted:

http://bit.ly/bZ7zDe

Apparently, the past 10 years have been the best years in humanity's history [which is sometimes really hard to believe], so I guess it's a really good reason to stay optimistic about the future.

Thanks, Vertigo. Interesting article.

I was getting pretty optimistic reading it, until I remembered where you said you found it.

Disinformation.com eh? Hmmmmmm. <_<

Well, disinformation usually aim to 'expose' disinformation in various articles, so it might be that they posted the article from Foreign Policy because they thought it was pretty dumb. Well, it's pretty much just statistics, so you can choose either to trust statistics or not, but I'll be an idealist this time. :]

News:

I am joining the Coast Guard Auxiliary. Always wanted to be a coastie after high school, but that plan didnt work out. so when i came across the opportunity to be a part of the USCG without having to make a long term commitment, (i cant with school right now anyway), i jumped on it. So now im just waiting to hear from someone.

Oh, and i have a job interview monday.

Lol anchor clanker. Never heard that one before. Heard puddle skipper before though.

I was in JROTC when i was in high school. The school i went to my freshman year I was an AFJROTC cadet, and had a ribbon rack full at the end of the year. I also was on drill team (unarmed at the time), and was on the PT team.

My sophomore year my high school was like 10 minutes from a Sub base, so i was an NJROTC cadet. Platoon leader, guide on, and was ranked a PO1 when i dropped out after my birthday. I was havin migraine troubles, and the school was holdin it against me instead of excusin me with a doctors note. they threatened to fail me, and take away my JROTC, so i dropped out and tried to get my diploma through home schoolin. That didnt work out financially so i had to settle for my GED. But yeah, i always wanted to be an anchor clanker. lol.

Good luck on your job interview!

Sound like you really have a clear idea what you want! As usual. You're quite a guy.

We have Coast Guard on area lakes because they are Army Corps of Engineers lakes. It'd be too much of a coincidence if you ended up around here but you'd love it.

???INTERVIEW???

For what?

Lol job interview. i put in an application somewhere like 3 weeks ago, and they just emailed me back this evening.

they are hosting a job fair type thing, so i just got to show up and fill out an application, and ace the interview.

Im fairly confident i will do well. and im sure that adding a college and the Aux. to my application wont hurt either.

Oh, and side note: The Auxiliary branch of the Coasties is just a volunteer branch. No pay, and you help when you can. we still get the uniforms though, and help out in a lot of coast guard missions, but some arent permitted to the Aux. the website probably explains it better than me. lol. http://www.cgaux.org/about.html

I would like to enlist as full time active duty, but with school, and everything else it's just unrealistic. So this gives me an oppurtunity to be out doing the things Coasties do, without the commitment.

You went from AFJROCT TO NJROCT? You mean that you changed from soaring with the eagles to swimming with the guppies? (Grin) ;)

Go for the coasties you will never regret it.

So Colton, Coast Guard Reserves - do you only have to guard reserve coastlines - like Arizona once California shakes into the ocean?

Good luck on the job interview and the Coast Guard.

Great place for a cowboy - the ocean, you do know that they do not brand whale calves don't you?

Love ya,

Sally

lol. that is a good question. I will have to ask that. I really dont have to guard nothin though. Just help conduct vessel checks, and go out on the water when the active duty/reserves need some help. It's just some volunteer work, but im sure it's still gonna be a lot of fun.

and i dont think we dont have any whales around here either. kind of a bummer though. I was lookin forward to ropin one. lol. laugh.gif

Thanks Opal! I'm having to get some work done today so won't be on as much.

I do have some good news-minor but good. I got a new keyboard. As anyone who reads my posts knows my keyboard is worn out and unpredictable. I got one of those roll up types because there isn't room for a regular keyboard on my desk w/ my laptop.

So far is isn't working as well as the broken one. These vinyls are different and take a different touch. We'll see. Anyone else have one of these roll up keyboards? I like it but have trouble w/ missing letters but it seems to be getting better Do they need breaking in?

Thea, your post made me think of a comic named Chloe Petts whom I saw recently on Hannah Gadsby's Gender Agenda comedy special on Netflix. She is a cisgender masculine lesbian. She is brilliant and so funny. I was intrigued by her identification - specifically masculine, not butch. And it seems to me there is a difference.

Today I had a dr appt. When I checked in, I was asked my surname, which I gave. Apparently there were two patients with appointments at that time with that same surname. The receptionist asked, "Are you (my legal name which is feminine) or Paul?" I got such a kick out of it not being assumed I had the feminine name.

That must have felt affirming, albeit perhaps weirdly so. However, I'd construe that more broadly (no pun intended) as sexism rather than misogyny where the latter would imply contempt. Also, incidentally, I've heard chivalry referred to as "benevolent sexism".

My boss is in a panic. His business is a couple straws away from breaking a camel in half. He's just handling the stress very poorly.   My dad, though. He's handling things pretty well, as long as I continue to don't get massively offended by being called: son, boy, etc. His eldest is leaving the State and looks so different than he's been used to over the years. I haven't told him I'm on HRT, but to be fair the changes haven't been massive. I've always had boobs, more so after COVID weight gain and made more obvious with its loss, but now I'm not hiding them--and obviously wearing a bra. The estrogen has done some work, but nothing major (sadly). I think the biggest HRT changes have been my skin and a mild amount of fat redistribution.   Today I'm wearing my cheater, I almost have cleavage! :D I need to get another t-shirt bra to keep a good rotation. I only have two, one push-up, and the rest are unlined (great for Summer, but not great for my Summer wardrobe ).

I eat a ketogenic diet and have had no problems. I don't know about your case but I suspect it is the estrogen. Research the types of ways to take estrogen. Pay close attention to the bloodwork results. If they are not satisfactory, bring it up with your doctor. I take injectables, which are fully covered by insurance. It may not be the route for you, but something to consider. I emphasize to do your research and good luck. You can solve this. Be persistent.    Jennifer

This is my opinion, so take it for that. Fatigue is based more on what you eat. Eat a more healthy diet, and stay away from ultra-processed foods and that should help. Think of eating the way we did a couple hundred years ago before the industrial revolution. It's just a thought.   Jennifer

The source of estrogen can matter. I started HRT at age 50. My avatar was the result. I started on pills, and moved to estradiol valerate injectables. However, there was a shortage, and I had to use a compounding pharmacy. The estradiol would evaporate in the vial, and couldn't get 5 doses out of it. I eventually move to the patch.    Over time I realized the patch wasn't working properly. And, the last time I visited my doctor he told me my estrogen levels were low. He asked me if I wanted to change to estradiol valerate. I jumped for joy. So I started my script for estradiol valerate. My prescription was ready, but I didn't receive my script for needles for a couple of weeks. So I bought my own (legal). I started with intramuscular injections. This requires a longer needle, and the estrogen is released into the muscles. It has a powerful effect right away but isn't stable. So by the time I took my next injection 2 weeks later, the estradiol in my bloodstream was almost gone. When I finally received my script for my needles, the needle was shorter. So the injection was subcutaneous. What is different with this type of injection as that the estrogen released is more even over 2 weeks (before the next injection). Interesting the syringe/needles my doctor prescribed are so much higher in quality. I am going to follow his path. My breasts are now perky again. And I will let my doctor guide me.    I wish you success on your journey. Let us know how things are proceeding. I am happy for you.   Jennifer
