Good morning! I am having a rough week at work with the long hours. I feel like a zombie just going thru the motions. My manager told me the long hours will be ending soon. Maybe I can feel normal then. Lots of coffee this morning.

@AgnesBardsie Cool that your are keeping your nail polish on!

Careful with the coffee. I've had my heart race twice in my life from coffee. Both times from a SHELL gas station. Scary.

Got back from Iowa City ok. Stopped at the "Iowa 80" truck stop and bought an awesome new coffee cup that changes from the black color with logo to a light blue scenic color with logo. unfortunately It doesn't look like they sell it online. They are made by "OLLEE BEE". Microwavable too!

Have a great day ladies!

Oof. It was a financial disaster yesterday. Unexpected car repair, vet bill and computer repair totaled almost $1000.  I had to cancel 4 upcoming electrolysis appointments to try and offset that hit.  Surprisingly, I'm not too emotionally distraught over the setback.  It's definitely disappointing though.

On the plus side I got to sit down with my two sisters for a couple hours to discuss solutions for helping my 22 year old nephew find a better living situation. He has muscular dystrophy and severe autism and a single parent father who has his own issues and really isn't caring for him. It's a real challenge. While the subject matter was hard, just having normal sister time was great.  I haven't really had this kind of quality family time with them since coming out. I can't wait to get vaccinated and be able to do more of that.  One of my sisters' whole household is pretty much vaccinated because they are teachers and one of their kids recovered from Covid already so is probably immune.

No such thing as immune. My brother in law has had it twice already. Sorry to hear about your home situation. Hope it gets better.

Hey everyone, good morning! Since we're sharing coffee mugs, I'll share my favorite one along with the new coffee I picked up yesterday. It's a really dark roast, much more than I would normally drink, but it smells heavenly. Feeling a little more centered this morning compared to earlier in the week, and I'm hoping for today and tomorrow to be mellow at work, though they probably won't be because I'm on the front line of getting people vaccinated as fast as possible. I will probably be calling around 100 people today, and it is exhausting to talk vaccines all day long. Several clients I've talked to are skeptical about it. They want to see if people have negative reactions and if it actually helps slow down the pandemic before taking the risk.

@AgnesBardsie Yes definitely keep the nail polish! I'm always wearing some these days, and I don't care if anyone notices - but, when someone did and said how much she liked the color, that was so heart-warming!

@Chloe Cozee Sorry to hear that it's been a challenging week work-wise. Hoping things improve for you soon, as your manager promises they will!

@Bri2020 Glad that you had some nice family time but sorry to hear about the unexpected expenses. I too am missing family time a lot because of the pandemic, it's especially hard with me being the only one on the East Coast and everyone else basically being in the Midwest or on the West Coast. I'm cautiously optimistic that the vaccine will make travel safer by summer, but who knows.

Hoping everyone has a lovely day!

Love,

~Audrey.

I love those little heartwarming moments. Inside I am Agnes 24x7. Outside I look like Bob and I tell people to call me Bob. It’s so confusing! Lol! When I’m engaged in conversation I’m Agnes and when the response is to Agnes and not to Bob it really feels good. It’s hard to describe and it’s ever so subtle.

Good morning everyone,

My coffee is Hot, black, and strong.:coffee: My favorite mug is a thick ceramic cup from Amway Products Chemical division that resembles a 55 gallon drum. I run hot water into and over it while the coffee is brewing, so that the thick ceramic doesn't thief away the heat energy away from the coffee being poured into it.

Hugs, and best wishes for all as we move closer to the weekend. Stay Positive.

Very good advice! I don't do this for the first cup because I need it slightly cooled for teeth sensitivity. But if I go for refills and my cup was empty for awhile I heat it first then poor the coffee from the carafe.   My insulated carafe does cool just a bit after an hour or so.

You can call the truck stop and order this by the way. I paid $16.99 for this one.

I'm so picky when it comes to coffee mugs- notice mug, not cup.  Requirements:

Minimum 12oz

Must have enough thickness to hold the heat for awhile

Drinking end should be same or slightly smaller diameter than base. I often balance my mug on the arm of the couch and stability is important.

Dishwasher safe.

The imagery must make me smile. No negative or sarcastic messages.  Current favorites are my 3 sisters image, "pug yoga" "Scuba Bonaire" and a Wonder Woman comic scene.

Well, I don't drink coffee, but I drink tea out of this:

Zero Fox Given - Fox Mugs - Funny Coffee Mugs - Mugs With Quotes - Mugs With Sayings - Tea mug - Novelty Coffee Mug - great gift (11oz)

Speaking of, I could use a cup. Good workout today and I'm pleasantly tired. Not much to do today except housekeeping, art and my therapist appointment. I hope everyone has a pleasant day!

Hugs!

Hi Jamie, TBH it was a gift a long time ago so I'm not sure where it came from. I've been a Scrabble player since forever so I guess my reputation precedes me. The way I break stuff though, I'm surprised it's still in one piece. I'm proud to say I've never cracked a smartphone screen either. ?

Love,

I buy these coffee warmers at thrift stores, usually for a dollar.  I have 5 of them around my place so I never take a cold sip.

switching gears,

Kaiser Perm a letter of introduction today from my new OB/GYN. Woooaaa.  I don't even have the parts yet. lol.  I'm sure this was Kaiser automatically assigning me to the women's health care team since they changed my gender in their system but I was a little shocked when I opened it. I'm pretty sure she has no idea what's in store ;) I did message her to let her know my situation and to ask a few questions about her experience with transgender patients though.

I am an evangelical  I am also transgender.  This is an issue. I have read up on it.  I am not an expert, but I have done a lot of reading.   One thing I do not get about people who take that position is that evangelicals are all about salvation by faith alone by Christ alone by grace alone - unless you are transgender.  Then you cannot be saved, these say, unless you do the work of un-transgendering yourself.  Which is, practically, impossible.  I have read the "solutions" and I don't buy them, obviously, because they do not work.    In evangelicalism salvation is by faith alone, Christ alone, grace alone, without any merit of our own.  That means, to an evangelical, we come to Christ as we are,  in the words of a glorious hymn,   1 Just as I am, without one plea, but that thy blood was shed for me, and that thou bidd'st me come to thee, O Lamb of God, I come, I come.   2 Just as I am, and waiting not to rid my soul of one dark blot, to thee, whose blood can cleanse each spot, O Lamb of God, I come, I come.   3 Just as I am, though tossed about with many a conflict, many a doubt, fightings and fears within, without, O Lamb of God, I come, I come.   4 Just as I am, thou wilt receive, wilt welcome, pardon, cleanse, relieve; because thy promise I believe, O Lamb of God, I come, I come.   We do not clean ourselves up BEFORE we come to Christ.  We let Him clean us up AFTER we come to Him.    Those who insist that transgender people cannot be saved are actually preaching another Gospel, a Gospel of works, and have wandered away from the glorious Gospel into works.  That is strong but true.   Struggling with legalism and grace, I have found more of God's mercy and grace available to me because I struggle with being transgender and seeking His resolution of it.  Which, not having the struggle, I would not have needed to seek Him earnestly on this.

Eventually, (especially if you start T,) things will even out. The excitement you feel is from everything being so new. Finally knowing yourself and having others recognise you can be thrilling. However, because it is your natural state of being, eventually that wears off. There's nothing exciting about it anymore because it's "just you." (Which is a perfect thing to be!) This, however, can lead to disappointment. Trust me when I say however, that that disappointment and jarring reaction to wrong pronouns will go away, and you'll once again feel comfortable in yourself.

I wear a wig most of the time.  But I can get by with my natural (shoulder length) hair if I wear a hat or something to cover the mostly empty top. Unfortunately that train has left the station, sigh.

Oddly enough, just this weekend I read some of my poetry at a local event.  In this case it was a Pride group so I didn't have a particular advantage.  But I have read in more inclusive (of cis people) situations, and been fairly well received.  Let's face it, cis people do deserve an equal chance.   I suppose this might be a problem in the future.
    • Ivy
Of course we do.  The few friends I do have are almost exclusively cis or trans women. I think I could have a relationship with a man, but he would be kinda "other" to me.  Could be interesting though. I never have understood guys - even when I was trying to be one.
