A little bolder look for me today, although the leggings are more black/gray - not the bluish tint in the photo.

Bold looks great on you, live it!

You look wonderful, Hannah! The only thing that would make you prettier is a smile!🥰

While I have been embracing doing everyday things totally as Hannah - grocery shopping, other basic in-and-out errands, etc - today was a first. My daughter wanted to try a lunch at a local Cracker Barrel. So I went with her for my first sit down restaurant meal, as Hannah "unmasked." No fear, no apprehension, no hiding. No clue what any of the other patrons thought, or if anyone even paid me any attention, and no care in that regard. Another step in accepting and living my true self.

Awe! You look great! ❤️

Wait, I'm confused....  so we girls can tell each other we'd be prettier if we'd smile?

Yes - only because we mean it...not like men who just use it as a pick-up line!🥰

I KNOW you're smiling on the inside...and you're still beautiful even when the smile hasn't made it to the surface!💜

I'm a fan of authenticity. Like, it would be nice if people would genuinely admire RBF quietly, from afar, instead of trying to poke the dragon XD

I don't think there was any malice in that.  I will say though that many "new" women on the site don't smile.  Not that smiling is a prerequisite but so many look like they are still wearing their "Man face."   Trying to relax is good; the brow isn't furrowed, lips aren't pursed.   It doesn't have to be a big grin.  If you are happy you are finally getting to be you, show it!

@Jackie C. 😹Love the smile. Oddly enough it looks like my mom's smile when she's being silly.

At first I thought your necklace had a Facehugger pendant. It still looks cool.

I know the feeling. I believe I look like a villain when I smile + I'm not good at taking pics of myself.

But, I think when people aren't forced into the smile, they look better. And even though you can't post it, I'm pretty sure you got a good full smile, even if you don't think so.😁

For the record, I sensed no malice whatsoever in how @Katie Mresponded to my post. Never entered my mind. I have alluded to my lack of smiling once or twice in the past. The notion that someone sees me as pretty to begin with, and encourages me further, warms my heart. I feel blessed to receive such a compliment, along with the rest of the support in this community.

Besides, anything said here is a breath of fresh air compared to what I get from my wife.

Thank you, Hannah - because I certainly meant no offense in my comment...we're all here to support one another...and I want to always be uplifting toward everyone!💜💜

EEEK!  We need a sarcasm font or perhaps an lol would have sufficed.

Am I the only one that gets mini anxiety attacks when I see that I've been mentioned or quoted?   Not that you should feel reluctant to do so, the same thing happens whenever I get phone calls, texts, phone notifications and goddess help me if there is an unscheduled knock at the door.  I probably wouldn't even check to see who it is!

That's great Hannah,

I'm glad you made this milestone in getting out and about. You look very nice, and I'm sure it was seen as nothing more that a Mother, Daughter outing.

Jackie, I love your wide eyes, and smile.

I can only imagine what your laugh would be like, based of your quick wit, and word smith response here. I know you're laughing as to type them.

Hugs,

This!  When I was trying to be a man, I rarely smiled.  I mastered the serious reserved staredown look.  Couple that with my overwhelming anxiety and fear of dentistry where I let my teeth go to -crap- and you had a person habituated to being reserved and embarrassed about their smile when it did come out. Now I have a situation where I LOVE to smile but seriously need to get drugged and have a lot of dental work to make that smile pretty. My inability not to smile (double negative I know) has led me to try and overcome my fear and start taking care of my dental situation.  The only thin stopping me from dealing with my teeth now are finances. It's going to cost about $17k :(. I need 3 implants and an additional couple of cavities filled.  It might take a minute to figure that out.

It's more impressive when I've done my eye makeup. I look truly deranged.

My teeth are a mess - many missing etc.

On the plus side, it does go with my hag-witch persona.

Don't think Americans would go for the "compulsory" part. We kind of like not being told what to do ... Amazingly, there is great pushback on voter ID laws. The opponents say it discourages voting, especially among the poor and minorities. That is really a smokescreen IMO for those who want to harvest ballots from as many places as possible, including folks who don't exist or don't hold citizenship...

Pretty soon I think I might be ready to talk about gender-affirming care for kids, possibly w/r/t the Cass Review and its shortcomings.

She was a beautiful young woman ...   "What we do know is that the offender was a very violent individual and should not have been on our streets.”  Whether gender related or not, the mental health and incarceration issues in our country are incredibly bad and need to be addressed.

April,   I'm glad my entries are interesting to you.  TransCentralPA is a great organization with so many caring people.  I would strongly recommend you find a way to attend the Keystone Conference.  I guarantee you'll find it an amazing experience.     Hugs,   Sally

Dear @Sally Stone.  I think you should author a memoir based on these posts (maybe you're already working towards that?).  You could decide at a later time if/when you might want to publish.   I appreciate you sharing your deep connection with your friend Willa (and I am sorry for your loss) and the benefit of having a Trans friend and mentor in our Life and Journey.  I was fortunate to have found one also in our TGP friend @Kasumi63.   As you know we share many common Life themes in our stories.  Drop me a PM if you'd like to chat about it.  Looking forward to the next 'chapter'.

Voting is compulsory here, for better or worse. Would doing the same in the US snap people out of their apathy?

I am noting you use CRT terminology.  The comment is not out of the blue.  Some of your remarks on religion suggest atheism.  So it is believable that you are a Marxist, knowingly or not.  Are you?

Congrats to your family on the new addition!

Funny you think that I would be able to get through more than two sentences with how bad my stutter gets (joking, of course)   My topic would probably be mythology, random Japan factoids in my mind, or a favorite story   (Best option would be a fave story of mine including a lot of factoids on Japanese myths-)

I read each of your entries and learn so much. Thank you, especially, for the TransCentralPA info. I have been looking fora group and activities where I could express myself safely and with support. I missed this year's conference but next year might be possible and I am going to look at their other events, too.

I have read numerous accounts of trans folk no longer being welcome among evangelicals.   I am here for help and fellowship not to rebuke anyone.  I can take a pretty high degree of insult, etc., and you haven't insulted me, to my recollection anyway :) and I usually let it go.  But I thought I would let it all out there.   I am sure I disagree with you on numerous issues.  I appreciate other people's viewpoints, including those who radically disagree with me.  Intellectual challenge is good. One thing I appreciate about @MaeBe.
