And it gets better at dinner tonight!

A little background in case you haven't kept up with my 10000000 posts ;-). Married many years and my wife has known and tolerated my Cross Dressing since before we were married. She does not know yet about my being diagnosed as TG and wanting to transition. I am working with my therapist on how and when and being supported when I broach that subject very soon.

So anyway we are at dinner. She is telling me about a face Rx she is picking up after dinner. I tell her that I wish I could get rid of the little lines in face and she says her Rx would do that and we could share it. So I let her know I have a Clinique cream that really helps with bags and dark circles under the eyes and she is welcome to use my cream.

She said "I can't believe we are sharing make up" - I managed to contain my excitement at the future prospects.

Thank you Diane for the belly laugh. My preteen daughter and I are going through puberty together, sometimes it's great girl fun, other times it degrades into a cat fight! Please feel free to share the stories when the time comes. Giggle. Hugged. JodyAnn

It's starting to cool off! This morning was downright pleasant. I arrived at work without sweating through my dress shirt even though the A/C was out on the bus this morning!

And I kept my GT appointment. She's a little weird, but I'm pretty sure she can help me through transition. If I could just convince her not to have the perfumey candles going in her office before I get there--they give me a headache!

My next appointment isn't until January. Fixing our Durango took more $$ than we initially thought--NEVER GO TO ENGINE EXCHANGE in MESA!

Sorry that the car repair was costly, Ravin. A friend of mine has had several repairs on his Durango. Of course, he drives it pretty hard.

I may have a job lined up. It starts next week, and should run for four to five weeks. Being that I have been out of the workforce for so long, I am crossing my fingers that this one works out well. :)

Ravin, Thanks for the heads up on EEinM. Lemme kno if you can meet soon for coffee, if the engine in my poor old tired Dakota doesn't fall out. Giggle. If you have any more car issues, I know a great trans friendly shop owned by a man and wife that are so cool. They have helped me more than a few times. My dad pays big bucks, complains about the costs of his shop and won't go there because they like me and treat me like a lady. LOL! Well that's his bitter wallet.

I also want to swap GT stories too. My city is not that far from your city, I don't have a GT since I moved. If not PM me so we can swap therapy right here. Giggle. Hug. Jody

Started to work today. I did not do as well at this job as I had hoped to, and I am somewhat disappointed in myself. At least I did not get fired the first day. I hope to do better tomorrow.

What the heck is this? I wake up about two AM stumble off to the kitchen. Why I'm not sure? I spy the crock pot and deside to make shrimp gumbo for tomorrow. As I was dicing the peppers and stirring in the veggies I couldn't help thinking back to the day. Those days when I woke up with insomnia I would tip toe out to garage as not to wake anyone in the house. Then I would get lost in myself preparing my drag bike for the next months race. Giggle. Who was that guy?

Tonight that idea has zero appeal. Funny how so much of my life has changed since I became a single Mom. Why am I saying all this? Who else am I going to tell in the wee hour of the morning? Giggle. The Gumbo should be really good about noon, if anyone is coming by to have some. :doh1: Hug. JodyAnn

I wrote this reply about gumbo and Opal's job and it isn't here anywhere. I'm sorry the days was so hard Opal. I knew the next would be better. I just knew it would. Starting a jib and getting your feet on the ground can be really challenging but I am sure you can handle it Opal. You have been strong and persistent all the time I have known you and that will win the day.

As far as gumbo-made me hungry for some. No shrimp though. My favorite food but sadly potentially lethal for me since I developed an iodine allergy. In my next life I plan to be 6' 5", look and sound like a young Gary Cooper and eat shellfish morning to night. :D

Between rescuing damsels in distress anyway and deciding where best to make use of my enormous fortune. Looking forward to it.

Speaking of food i just found out that so much of my diet is loaded with potassium. No wonder i am having pain in my legs. Bad stuff when you are on HRT with a heart condition. No more yogurt, spinach, beans including lentils. This is rough on a vegetarian. Bring on the orci! I don't need those little guys anymore but i do need to eat. On second thought ....a little weight loss perhaps.

Well things were getting to me a bit and I was getting tired of sitting and watching the world go by, so I decided to do one of the few things I can actually do at the moment with regards to living a female life and buy a few things online. A dress and three pairs of shoes. I am up to eight now although not all of them fit well. I think I will give some to a trans friend of mine who is a size smaller than me as they may well be of more use to her.

The dress I am really pleased with because the shape of it and its print are very feminine. I think I actually sort of pass while wearing it, at least from a slight distance anyway. I won't be wearing it much though as dressing at my parents' house is actually quite dangerous. The upshot is though that I got some very nice things, some of which I have wanted for years, and they will be coming with me when I move out and I can use them more then.

I put some pictures up. This should help me get over the bumps between now and my very own independence day.

Speaking of damsels in distress and gumbo, JodyAnn had emergency surgery yesterday after a late night ER trip. She reported to me she was fine afterwards. I don't think she can get online at the moment but I'm sure would appreciate get-well wishes when she does.

Just an update, I missed checking in last night as I did not get home from work until late. Then my roommate was having some issues, so got fairly distracted. Today was another long day, but it appears that we will wind this project up sooner than expected, which should please the owner quite a bit.

Anyway, one day at a time.

Huggs,

Opal

Jody one, Gaul bladder zero. Jody wins! Thanks Ravin. My stay wasn't fun, but it was hilarerous. The nurses and I spent time before the proceedure girl talking and getting to know each other. After recovery they came in to check on me. I just could not resist. I looked under my covers and exclaimed, "What have you done?" Puzzled looks. "Well we took out your gaul bladder?" "What!?!, I came in for sexual reassignment! I want a good bottom line and you poke holes in me?!?" They got the joke and died laughing. One of my nurse friends shook her head and said, "Good bottom line, funny, I like that. Mind if I use that line?" LOL! It only hurts when I laugh.

I'm home now, very sore but on the mend. No more spice for a while so I have to toss out nearly a full pot of gumbo. No tobasco habinero for a while either. I think I will stick to pink salmon for a while, sans New Orleans style of course. Drat! Hugs soon, I'm a little tender right now. JodyAnn

Congratulations on getting the go ahead with HRT. I'm so ready for my wife to drop her opposition. As for the mood swings... I would look forward to them myself.   Hugs,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

Three reprimands and they suspend attendance for a couple weeks.
    • Mmindy
Good for the other participant. What's involved in a reprimand? At our age, what are they going to do? Withhold snacks...   @BirdieI'm sorry you have to put up with such discrimination's. I'm proud that you're standing up for yourself.    Hugs,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

Associating LGBTQIA+ with pedophilia or "grooming" is a conspiracy theory as old as the study of psychiatry (mid-19th century) when early "scientists" theorized that homosexuality was caused by childhood trauma of having been molested by older men. Some of us have moved on and become educated since those days, but conspiracy theories have an uncanny staying power...the "power" of ignorance, including the titillation of scandal. There is some psychology about people being attracted to outrage and fear. Life is naturally dynamic and uncertain. Unless you have developed a transcendent mastermind, most people have some level of discomfort with that. Therefore, it is weirdly comforting to target a particular thing as a threat and to make a big fuss about it, whether or not it has any credence. And it is comforting to be one among a mass who are equally outraged about a thing, whether or not the thing is real. It is also boosts the ego to speak with vehement "authority" about a thing that is a known trigger for the masses. Like Vicky said, Dunning-Kruger Effect.   However prominent a movement there is or not of pedophiles claiming that their perversion is a sexuality (I have heard of that, but never as it being a major influence), it is the case that much of the viral spread of disinformation associating LBGTQIA+ with pedophilia is due to online trolls. Surely, there are loads of 'em. But here's just one reported story. https://www.nbcnews.com/tech/tech-news/posing-gay-men-twitter-troll-goes-viral-attempts-falsely-tie-n954721

Another interesting day at the day-centre....   Another participant called me "sweet cheeks" and we both got reprimanded for inappropriate behavior. 🙄

She stood at the world's edge, awaiting judgment Isolation judged to be an insufficient burden The skies above required a hand, precisely two To keep the heavens high and keep the vaulted sky from crushing you She bent her knee and gritted teeth, awaiting weight Mentally preparing mind and body for the grimmest fate. Her head was bent, the firmament so hard to hold, Her back against the wall and braced against a fall And all that matters is she never ever drop it There she stands.  If they weren't full, her head would be in her hands. Heroes they came, from far and from wide to gawk at the girl who held up the sky.

Lets get this topic back on track folks.  Please spell out your acronyms for your specific meaning of the letter combinations and then re-read your own typing before hitting the send button.  We are here to be supporting each other and not stomping on someone's last nerve.  In the past we have used our DWF (Dirty Word Filter) to interpret certain acronyms and then the members were begging us to delete the posts for them one or two leaving with injured feelings.  Community Rules 7 (about posts being in clear English and Rule 8 (being suitable for people under 18) can come into play here. Thank you.

I could be described, I suppose, as a RWNJ.   A little stereotyping seems to be going on.  Don't complain about Trans stereotypes if you turn around and stereotype others.  A lot of RWNJs are actually decent people and get called that by people who pick up on one or two alleged beliefs.  I would rather single out influential individuals of whatever camp and call them to correction.   Trans folk are a small minority, even as small minorities go.  There are probably a lot more RWNJs running around than there are trans folk.

They cut a lot of trees here as well.  A lot of them toward the coast end up chipped up and sent to Europe to burn in power plants.  That bothers me, seems like a dumb idea.
    • Ivy
Most likely.   Unfortunately this was expected.  I expect it will be the norm in any GOP controlled state that hasn't already done it.  So much effort expended against so few.  I certainly haven't seen my area being overrun by trans kids.   And yeah, I fully expect them to go after my HRT next. I think those that are railing against us are much more dangerous than some non-binary high school sophomore.

Her name is Sunny and she is so much fun. But, as you said @KymmieL, it is a challenge with a new puppy. Thankfully our 13 year old Lab is taking the addition in stride and being supremely tolerant.
