Jamie,

I felt the same way on my first appointment. I live in a very conservative area and I just knew I would end up in a padded cell. Instead, I opened up to the therapist about everything and it couldn't have gone any better. If the therapist is any good your visit will be good as well.

Hugs,

Mike

Thanks Mike. That helps.

Hi everyone

several conversations going on here.  Cant reply to all.

Therapists are not to be feared.  I found that out after being afraid to see one for years.  They won’t ridicule nor out you.

wives, boy is that a subject that is all over the place.  From immediate rage and lawyers to I don’t care I love you and everything in between.  Mostly everything in between.  Lots of back and forth, up and down emotionally.  As I’ve said I’m getting more pushback in the past couple of weeks including today when I picked up my medications. They are a bit pricy.  I also got pushback yesterday for looking at bras that would fit me better than what I have.

so just when you think things are looking better, wives can flip.  That keeps you on edge.

I got my second Covid shot today.  I don’t have to use the knee scooter anymore.  Dr allowed me to walk wearing my air cast.  We was surprised at how fast my bones are knitting together.

That's awesome about your quick healing. Keep up the good work.

All the positive response about therapists has helped. Thanks all.

I really like the hoops. I can actually see them in the mirror. Makes me feel good about myself. If I get studs, they would have to be some gorgeous gemstones.

You'd be surprised at how feminine simple silver ball studs can look.  I wear a pair all the time when I am at home, even if I am doing chores.  The only time they come out is at night, or if I am replacing them with something fancier because I am going out.

I got a surprise phone call today.  My surgeon's office called to say I have an appointment for a revision consultation next month.  That's less than 24 hours after I asked my doctor to help me get a revision.  The surgeon may still tell me that I won't get a revision, but I am hoping I will get it.  I have had 11 months of pain, so I have paid my dues.

I spent this afternoon booking flights, hotel rooms, and taxis, and investigating covid protocols for the trip.

Hi Willow,

Sadly I feel your pain on this one. Mine has got a lot better, but it took awhile. Praying your relationship will improve as well.

Hugs,

Mike

Good Morning everyone! On second cup of coffee. After today, I probably will have enough hours to have Friday off and a three day weekend. Nothing much going on with me right now, just work - sleep - meditate if I have the time - repeat.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day!!

I have some "Tree of Life" studs that I wear 24/7, unless I feel like something a bit fancier or dangly.

I'm at my daughter's today and tomorrow.  The school system here is a bit chaotic.  She is a teacher, and had to go into the school to teach remotely, but my granddaughter has to do her lessons online.  So I'm here to make sure she doesn't burn down the house.

It will be nice if this covid stuff ever gets settled down one way or the other.

On the plus side, at least this way I get to spend some time with them.

@KathyLauren Great news about your upcoming appointment.  I hope it goes well.

I also wear ball studs 24/7 as it is easier with a mask on if I go out.  I used to only change them if I wanted to wear something else like hoops or dangly ones.  Not much reason to do that recently!

Good morning

I had my coffee at 7am est.  now I’m ready to see my cardiologist.

I have a question for everyone who has been on full HRT for long enough to have changes.

Here is what I have going on:

Breast growth

body hair changes, less, lighter in places, and clearly slower growing in some areas.

but now, it seems that my deodorant no longer works.  Has anyone else experienced this?  Have you switch to a woman’s deodorant and does that work?

thanks for your input. Sorry to read write and run.

hugs

One other thing, I had my second Covid vaccine yesterday.  No side affects.
But here is a question for you.  If after getting the vaccine you still have to socially distance and wear a mask why are we so set on getting vaccinated?  I suppose the answer is to avoid going to the hospital and death.

SC is having quite a fight over the vaccine. Everything was fine until they included 65 to 70. Now teachers insist they should be put at the head of the line and all scheduled appointments should be set aside for them.  Next young people who chose to smoke say they should jump in the front of the line.  And finally people with conditions that make them more likely to have a severe reaction want their place at the head of the line.  All ignoring that 65 and older have the highest hospitalization and death rate of all.  It’s really sad that we have to fight over everything.

@Willow I haven't had this experience.  If anything going on estrogen has reduced my body sweat/odor.  I do use a woman's brand deodorant when I go out but otherwise not.

Are you using an antiperspirant?  Years ago I found the Aluminum Chlorhydrate (I think thats what it is) was burning me and causing me to perspire more.  I changed to deodorant only and it helped.

I found that my need for deodorant was much less.  Less sweaty, and what there is is less stinky.  I did switch to a women's brand that I can get in unscented.  The main reason for switching was that I didn't want to be using a product marketed for stinky, sweaty he-men.  I know it's probably the same stuff, but the marketing puts me off.

I do seem to be less stinky.  I use something marketed to both men and women, it's unscented and doesn't have that aluminum stuff.

It's a pity that folks think they have to fight over the vaccine.  Guess they don't think it's a hoax after all.

Hey @Willow!

So here's what I've got: Yes, I have breast growth. Yay! On the deodorant thing, I have very little natural scent anymore. I'm told I smell vaguely of vanilla. I switched to women's deodorant the very day I ran out of my men's brand. Mostly because I preferred smelling of vanilla and lavender to "Domination!" or whatever the heck that chemical smell was supposed to be. Of course one of my OTHER side-effects is apparently a super-strong sense of smell and I find men's scents to be repugnant. Not necessarily the smell of men themselves (though I've hit some at the gym that had me running), but the smell of their anti-perspirants or aftershave.

On vaccinations, we need to stay masked up until enough of us get vaccinated that we hit herd immunity. We're currently doing 1A and 1B here which is health care professionals and educators. Class 2 is 65+, though due to vaccine shortages we're keeping it to the 75+ crowd right this second., at least in Wayne county because we got under-supplied by the feds. Again.

The main benefit of the vaccines seems to be reduced hospitalization (yay) and death (no deaths in the vaccinated test group so also yay). Once enough of us are vaccinated, it basically kills the risk of hospitals being overwhelmed and having to leave patients to die in the halls or emergency ward trucks and we can go back to the way we were living, just with a shiny new respiratory disease to catch every winter.

Hugs!

I switched to a woman's deodorant long before I started HRT, and I'm only into my fourth month now. I hadn't even had a bout of dysphoria for some time. The odours are definitely nicer than men's....

I've been running a bit of a social test the past couple of weeks where I haven't been wearing deodorant at all. Sure I shower daily, life long habit, and it sounds a bit gross, I'm still very self conscious doing it, but my personal odour has gone way down as long as I clean and change clothes daily. ?

I have been using feminine deodorant for years. Just cost effective for us. I don't expect much from my E yet. Tomorrow it will be three weeks. Yeah.

My brain has been going crazy earlier. Don't know why. I just want the pain to stop. I need to get an appointment with my primary DR. My back isn't getting any better. I don't know. I think It has something to do with being on my feet 9-10hours a day. I can barely get out of the recliner without pain.

A weirdness has been floating around in the gray matter soup I have between my ears. If I knew that reincarnation was real and true. I would put a bullet in my brain. Just to start over.

Yeah, pain that does. not. stop. can drive us to do some pretty self-destructive things. My spouse's back is considerably better with corrective shoes (they have spring heels and are designed for people who are on their feet all day). They work great for her, but I've had other people say they did nothing for them. Still, could be something to look into. Sometimes the answer is somewhere you don't expect because specialist doctors tend to assign all your ailments a cause within their specialty.

Hopefully your pain can be alleviated by something simple like shoes, a brace or a better job. Still pulling for you on that front.

Hugs!

Hey Kymmie

have you looked into the shoes worn by doctors and nurses?  They are on their feet 12 hours a day or more.  If it’s a shoe / foot pain cause that could be a solution.

Back to my deodorant question, I had read that there would be a point in transition when you would need to make the change from one to the other.  Men’s products wouldn’t just smell wrong but allegedly wouldn’t work to mask Oder or stop perspiration because your hormones are different.  I have used unscented deodorant for a number of years, but just recently it seems that shortly after my morning shower my underarms become wet. I haven’t switched to a feminine product yet but I have tried a sample and that seemed to work when mine wasn’t.  I guess I will have to find one I like that works and isn’t my wife’s Secret.

oh I know that Secret has been advertising it is aluminum free.

Thank you everyone for your responses.

one other thing, Ikm going back to live church next week, with or without my wife.  Most likely the latter for now.

I sweat much less now and my need for deodorant went down. The funny part is with the heightened sense of smell, I can smell myself more. I let my wife pick out what I now use. It is aluminum free.

I'm not a doctor, but an inversion table helped me with my back a few years back. Shoes can definitely make a difference.

Hugs,

Mike.

I’ve had back issues for years.    When it’s acting up I can’t be on my feet for long.  But for me it comes and goes.   When it’s cutting up, I’m pretty much helpless, but most of the time I’m fine.
The only thing that helps me is to lay around most of the time.   But that’s not an option when you have to work.
I hope you find something that works for you.
