Juno Dawson

I was watching an episode of Pointless Celebrities on UK tv station BBC 1 yesterday (6th June 2020) and saw Juno Dawson was one of the contestants.
As so often the case with this kind of show, the celebrities are often not well known, in fact there was only one I had heard off, Martina Cole, a writer. BUT Juno seems different and I looked up who she was as honestly, she was the best looking woman on the show.

Juno DawsonJuno Dawson is a bestselling novelist, screenwriter, journalist, and columnist for Attitude Magazine. Her writing has appeared in Glamour, The Pool, Dazed, and the Guardian. She has also contributed to news items on BBC Women’s Hour, Front Row, ITV News, Channel 5 News, This Morning, and Newsnight. She is presently adapting her 2019 novel, MEAT MARKET for television.

Juno Dawson, 32, is a British author of young adult fiction and non-fiction on LGBT issues.

Born James Dawson, Juno Dawson was raised in West Yorkshire.

She worked as a school teacher, where she began writing books aimed at young adults until she became successful enough to leave her teaching job.

She wrote a number of young adult fiction books including Hollow Pike and Say Her Name.

In 2014 Juno wrote This Book is Gay, a non-fiction book aiming to be a “manual to all areas of life as an LGBT person.”

In 2015 Juno came out as transgender, having begun her journey of transitioning 18 months prior, and beginning her hormonal transition in early 2016.

Juno writes full time and lives in Brighton. She is a part of the queer cabaret collective known as CLUB SILENCIO. In 2014 Juno became a School Role Model for the charity STONEWALL.
